Ok. It’s very slight and only when they bounce off walls, but it’s there and makes a difference. -

“It’s ok now. You’re safe.”

Slowly, Helda crawled over to him and hesitantly wrapped her arms around him.

“…you’re leaving. I knew you would.”

“It’s ok Tayen. You need to do this, it’s for the best. No matter how much it hurts me.”

She shrank away from him. It was happening. She’d known it would.

She gasped, then began to cry quietly. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s ok now. You’re safe.” She stroked his hair, holding him tight.

She wrapped her arms around him. It felt so good to hold him, to know he was there, to be held by him.

“Please, rest. For me.”
