The title I admit is kind of clickbait. I was re-reading IotE, and I thought that the way it describes how the Dakwara is molded by the stories about her is remarkably similar to how SCP-2845, “The Deer” (a kind of eldritch god), is contained.
The way this Deer is contained is that, because it is more akin to a pure force of the universe than a thinking being, it can be tricked by a complex ritual into thinking it is contained. The ritual in itself does nothing, but it convinces the being that it is trapped, so it doesn’t even think about escaping.
As I understand it, the Dakwara situation is very similar. The nephilim she used to be wasn’t transformed by the stories, but was convinced that it really was the Dakwara, and then it changed itself into her, not even thinking it could be anything else. But then again, if she were to ever realize this, she could change back to her former self with no problem.
I don’t know, I just thought it was a cool theory. Cool enough to post on the forum, at least.
Have a great day!
