  1. Driving through the snow in my rusty Chevrolet

Down the road I go, sliding all the way

I need new piston rings, I need some new snow tires

My car is held together by a piece of chicken wire

Oh, rust and smoke, the heater broke, the door just blew away

I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray-ay

The frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio, it’s okay

Oh what fun it is to drive this rusty Chevrolet

  2. She nodded and stepped in.
  3. She nodded and her muscles relaxed.
  4. Her entire body stiffened. “I have conditions. One is that no one can touch me. Ever. At all. For any reason.”
  5. “I won’t trust. But.. I’ll cooperate.”
  6. “Exactly. I’ve lived here too. I’m not some.. naively hopeful optimist. I just want out.”
  7. “Where do you think I’m from, then.”
  8. “If there were good people, I wouldn’t still be here. I wouldn’t have been here for even a month. My parents could afford to hire someone to find me. I know they did. But.. somehow… the person they hired didn’t return me." ~~~ It had been about two weeks since she was kidnapped. Every night, for hours, she endured the unimaginable. It got to the point where she could barely cry anymore. She tried to resist, and every time she disobeyed, the price on her went lower - easier to afford. They got rough. The pain never stopped anymore. A man came in. Unlike most of these, he was clean. He could afford to be clean. He had seen her and began approaching her, but the owner of the bar cut him off. She remembered watching them talk for barely a minute, then money changed hands. The man still walked towards her, but it seemed different. He took her up to the room. She endured. Every time the pain got worse, but she couldn’t scream. The owner would make it worse for her if she screamed.
  9. She closed her eyes tighter. “It’s not that simple."
  10. “Well, you’d better attempt to answer, or any hope of my cooperation is gone."
  11. “You told me who you are, sure, but you didn’t tell me who you are."
  12. “That’s not enough."
  13. She shook her head, but it was more to herself. “Who are you?"
  14. “What did you do?"
  15. She tensed and made sure her face wasn’t visible. The scar on the corner of her mouth would give her away if a patron of that bar came by.
  16. She tried to steady her breathing. She wasn’t brave. She was a coward. She’d seen a chance to run and she took it.
  17. *me drinking apple cider, which only has apples on the ingredients list*

Hm, this is super delicious! It’s nice and refreshing, and tastes just like an apple, and it’s healthy!

  18. “Wouldn’t I know better than you what I have? If I had courage- if I had heart- then why did it take me nine years to run?”
