I work next door to a Chinese take-out place. I've built up a bit of rapport with most of the weekend cashiers. I was going there for dinner the other day, ordered my food, and started chatting a bit with one of the cashiers. She asked if I'd been to the Korean corn dog place that had opened a few months prior in the mall, and I told her I hadn't and had heard mixed things about it. She said that another cashier I knew had started working at the other place, and that it would really depend on what you got.
She told me what she and her husband liked, and then she started telling me what her son liked- I don't remember if she ever said it and I didn't hear it or if I interrupted her, but I said "You do not look old enough to have a son!"
She started laughing, and she said that he was four, and I said that that made more sense, but that I would've pegged her in her early twenties. She kept laughing and said that I was her favorite customer.
Yayyyy!
