She was visibly agitated, and the tops of her ears twitched. "I, at least," she said, "am willing to hear out your terms, but I will not agree to anything yet."

"Do you think they'd let us in to see him?"

"And your followers?"

She leaned against his side. "I don't know if I'd be able to handle it if he doesn't..."

"If you're saying you killed them..." It was the first half of a threat, but she didn't say what the threat was.

"... are you sure?"

She glared at him. "Where on earth..." she muttered.

"And does July feel the same?"

"I feel terrible," she said quietly.

She jabbed a finger in his face. "I am not. Stalling. They were there, and now they're not."

"So did I." She grunted as she lost the trail.

The first of several sobs shook her shoulders, but she kept them quiet. She hugged August's waist.

But, it was her best lead. She followed them sneakily, just in case it was a bandit.

She wiped her eye again, quickly. "Hopefully," she echoed.

She cursed again. She looked for footprints on the ground.

She wiped her eye before it could get too wet. "How's July."

She cursed near silently, then checked the other wagon.

Her eyes saddened, seeing the guards. Upset as she was that he'd left, she'd loved seeing independence on him. "I... I've been better."

She nodded, then realized he couldn't hear a nod. "Yeah."

Deciding this would be an okay time to invade privacy and break protocol, she went into the wagon.
