    The myth was that if you ate enough poppyseed bagels you'd fail a certain opiod test (it was actually true)

    What could she suggest that anyone would accept? Everyone knew she wouldn't want to be extremely harsh on him, and she couldn't be any harsher than they were if she wanted the strain on their relationship to heal... "I have no other suggestion," she finally said. Her inflection was emotionless, yet July and August would be able to hear the pained resignation she hid from everyone else.
