    "Don't be so sure. While you've been talking, gas has been building up inside my ice shell. My guess, we have about ten seconds before this entire room explodes." She pulled a small purple orb from her pocket. "I say we speed up the process." She tossed it behind her. On impact with the ice, it exploded, shattering the ice and igniting the gas. ~~~ "If we leave here, we compromise all those kids. I can reach out to Tena."

    Her eyes softened. “Mark…” she said quietly as he left. Truth was, she felt bad about this whole thing. The only places that had been located for her were the childhood home she’d not seen for over a decade and a run-down tavern that had been abandoned after her father’s old friend was exiled. She stayed a while longer looking for more information. What’s the Marksman?

    “No, I’ve had plenty. But I got separated from a lot of them and the ones I made after that all died with me.”

    “Nah.” She grinned. “I think I’ll annoy you a little longer.”
