  1. I can't help but envision a group of Ghost Bloods special ops showing up on Roshar like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnQXRxW9VcQ
  2. Off the top of my head, here are those that have non-stormlight fueled powers that can fight against Retribution: Adolin and the Unoathed Lift Vasher and Vivena Szeth with Nightblood The Heralds (it wasn't clear to me what they can and can't do using old magic, but they can obviously do some things as evidenced by the fight between Nale and Kaladin) World hoppers (I'm hoping for a special ops squad from Scadrial) Maybe Rlain and Renarin since they have corrupted spren. I'm not certain. Kaladin seems to have new powers with his bond to The Wind (can he listen in on conversations all across Roshar? Can he control the weather?) My question is will there will be champions for the Stone and Night? If so, who could they be? Venli seems like a possibility for Stone. The Night got very little mention in WaT, and neither did the Midnight Mother. That seems intentional and I suspect we see more with those in the second arc. Who are some other beings that can fight back without the aid of stormlight?
  3. Soldiers with advanced weaponry from Scadrial will join the fight against Retribution on Roshar. The Rosharans will welcome them as reluctant allies, but the relationship between the two will be icy due to Kelsier's influence. This will be the beginning of their rivalry.
  4. It's sad to leave Roshar for the next decade or so, but I think the endings of Stormlight 5 and The Lost Metal indicate the new Cosmere conflict with Retribution is going to play a part in Mistborn Era 3. I think we can assume the group of people MeLaan sails to in Shadesmar is the same group of people Shallan is with at the end of Wind and Truth. This makes it very possible Shallan and MeLaan meet. Shallan rejected the Ghostbloods, but could we see her become an agent for Harmony? It seems unlikely due to what would happen if she left the time bubble, but could we see Shallan on Scadrial? The time bubble is a neat trick that will allow Brandon to do some cool stuff. It means it's possible the mortal characters from Mistborn Era 3 have interactions with the Stormlight mortal characters we already know. Could some of these Mistborn characters take part in future Stormlight books? Another cool thing the time bubble will allow is scifantasy elements in the 2nd arc of Stormlight. It would be pretty rad to have a special ops team from Scadrial, fully equipped with guns, night vision, and advanced allomanticly-powered weapons and gadgets, go on a mission to Roshar where they face enemies with swords and bows.
  5. I figured the Cosmere was going to have a Cold War-type era with an arms race and predicted that Scadrial would lead in said arms race. Sigzil confirmed this is the case. Kelsier emphasizes the need to catch up to Autonomy's people in the epilogue of TLM. Whatever Harmony and Kelsier do in Era 3 is going to work. I'm almost as excited for Era 3 as I am SA5.
  6. Obviously there are more questions than answers in The Sunlit Man. One question that ate at me throughout the book is why Sigzil switched from the Windrunners to Skybreakers. One theory I have is that Hoid asked him to switch so he could spy on Nale and the Skybreakers. Remember that the Skybreakers are on Odium's side.
  7. Sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I was thinking about Kelsier's physical form. I don't think he returned to his rotting corpse. However, Marasi describes him as resembling the statues of the Survivor. Hemalurgy is similar to the Fused's magic in that both require a physical object inside the body that holds investiture. Both require some sacrifice - taking a life to give power to another (or at the very least some part of a soul, as we learned in TLM and also Warbreaker). When a Fused takes over a body, they are able to physically transform it somewhat to resemble their true form. This mechanism could explain how Kelsier looks like Kelsier. If Kelsier is a Fused, then whose body is he occupying? The actual Fused can only take over the body of a willing participant. Is that true on Scadrial? Is it Spook's body?
  8. Maybe it's presumptuous to assume that the industrial revolution on Scadrial was directly caused by Autonomy's intervention. But both Autonomy and Kelsier talk about how struggle creates the right environment for innovation to flourish. Electricity was brand new in Alloy of Law and by The Lost Metal, it was everywhere. Radios and photographs were common. The Set even had colored motion pictures. That's a lot of advancement in 7 years or so. I think Harmony knows that by allowing Preservation to be the dominant force, he has made things too easy. There has been a lot of talk here about Discord. Harmony tells Kelsier that he will take his suggestions into consideration. I wonder if Harmony makes the conscious decision to become Discord knowing that the chaos it causes will provide the tension needed to continue the pace at which Scadrial had advanced technologically during Autonomy's intervention.
