Saar shook her head. “All the recovery attempts were right after it was stolen. There wasn’t any trust in you mortals after that.”

“Temples are made for mortals by mortals.”

Saar shook her head. “I’ve never been there. But they must be hard. They were designed to keep out divine beings. We’ve sent out little missions before built up of lesser but still divine beings. They’ve never been successful.”

Insa raised an eyebrow. “Your family’s disputes are that big?” Saar sighed. “They can be. My family is mostly weather related. Strong emotions can potentially have dangerous effects on the weather.” Insa glanced at Lerac. “Okay well is that all you have to share with us?” “If you have more questions I’d be more than willing to answer them.”

“There’s been some… let’s just say family drama. I strongly feel that if I get this back to my family there will at least be some temporary peace. And quite possibly it would stop a war. The type of war that would have the potential to spread to your world.”

“As far as I’m aware it always been used to hold something precious to keep it safe. It was empty though when it was stolen. Which is why we weren’t too concerned with getting it back.”

“I’m not sure how to describe it to you. I can describe what it looks like but it’s all secondhand information. It was stolen before my time. You could say I guess that it looks like an old fashioned lantern but without a candle inside.”

“Well I don’t have a map location. The temple is called Yulin. The item is something I can’t quite describe. We call it the Ivus. It was in my family for generations before it was stolen. When it was first stolen we didn’t care. We didn’t need it but now we need it again.”

“Ah yes.” She turned Insa. “Where is Bookwyrm?” ”He had a prior engagement. I’ll be informing him of the proceedings of this meeting when we get back.” ”I see.” Saar took a quick sip of water. “Well then as they said I’ve found myself in a bit of a predicament. I need an item but I’m afraid I can not get it myself. So I figured I would strike up a deal. You get me this item and I’ll fix your problems and finally give you the space you’ve desperately wanted.” Insa tugged at her dress a little. “Tell me a little more about this item.” “It’s in a temple. You’ve been in one before Insa. Except this one is more complex than the one you went to. Many many more obstacles to reach the treasure. But nothing that should be out of your group’s capabilities.”

Insa gave Saar a polite nod. “I was told you wanted to talk. Saar’s smile grew. She motioned to the chairs near her. And sat down at the seat she’d been standing in front of. Insa moved towards a chair and motioned for the others to come sit. ”I have a proposal. But before I begin let’s just recap what I’ve already said.” Saar made a small hand motion towards Lerac and Aventine. “Could you remind me what I told you?”

Insa grabbed it and flicked it up into the air. It flew a few feet into the air and then hovered. Insa snapped rapidly three times and then the chip fell. As it hit the ground the world around them flashed white blinding them. As they regained their sight Insa looked around. They were in a formal dining hall with a feast laid out on the table. Their regular clothes had been replaced with formal clothing almost as if they were attending some fancy charity banquet. Saar stood at the head of the table. A grin spread across her face as she saw them. She spread her arms out motioning to the room around them. “Welcome to my home. I’m so grateful you came.” @Spark of Hope

“Without him. The soon we can get info and make a deal of that’s what you decide to do the better chance we having of getting a good deal with her. And the nicer she’ll be to the two of you.”

“Yes and no.” “Saar doesn’t really like me. Or Bookwyrm. And the feeling is mutual. But she’s who I channel my power from so she could attempt to hold that over me. Bookwyrm broke her direct line of communication to me which why she has to do all this work to be able to talk to me. And she’s very bitter about it. She also has a tendency to lie. She convinced me once that Bookwyrm was dead. Just watch for anything that doesn’t feel right or if a story or thing she’s saying isn’t lining up. Don’t bring it up there. We’ll discuss when we get back.”

Insa leaned back in her chair and thought for a moment. “I don’t like engaging with Saar so I want her to leave me alone. I haven’t seen Bookwyrm in a while and it’s very likely that we’ll need at least some information so that would be nice.” Her voice softened and got quieter. “But most of all you took this burden from me, for which I am very grateful and where I come from that puts me in debt to you. So I want to help you.” ”As with most decisions there are options. But in order to choose wisely and what’s best for you and anyone else helping I’ll need to talk to Saar and get some information from her.”

"For now sure. But pent up magic builds. It has killed people before. Though I'm sure to some degree Death would have the capability to help." She closed the book and set it on a little table next to her. "Saar is not the most trustworthy being. She tends to make deals that will benefit her more. However I would think it smart to look into what we can do to get her magic out of you. Whether it be by the means she wants or by some other way."

She raised an eyebrow. "How?"

"Okay. How can I help? What do you need me to do?"

Insa stared at the scar for a moment. "Did she tell you anything about the thing she wants?"

"Is that all she said to you?"

Insa slowly lowered the book onto her lap. "I must have heard you wrong." Her voice was rather quiet. "Who did you talk to?"

Insa sat in the same chair they had last seen her in. But now she had a book in her hands and was actually reading. She heard them come in and gave them a little wave.

“Look. I understand that. I understand that you are allied with a very powerful being. But you do still have limits and whatever route you choose to take you will have your limits tested. And I still would appreciate it if you would still take that to Insa so I can talk to her.” Saar looked them both over again. “I must say that whatever you choose and whatever path you take I wish you both the best.” And with that she disappeared.

“I won’t do anything. Unused magic like that tends to almost form a mind of its own. And generally it doesn’t seem very happy.”
