  1. "I guess not. It makes even less sense now than it felt like it did during the dream."
  2. "Well, there's a thing I can do were I sort of go into an... alternate state, I guess you could call it. I see souls and connections between things. I've never gone into it in a dream before. And something I didn't really understand happened, but it scared me, and I felt like I needed to stop using that energy."
  3. He idly ran a hand through her hair for a bit, then paused at a thought. "Before those memories, I dreamt something else, something to do with my powers. It worried me, for some reason."
  4. "That was nice. Especially with some of the things we both remembered..."
  5. Steeling himself, Lerac swiped a cut down his own forearm with the dagger. He felt the cold rushing in, and disappeared in a roar of freezing monochromatic flames.
  6. "I'm not sure. That all was a lot. You?"
  7. TAAron, on the other hand, woke up. He shivered, unable to banish the image of his own body, cut open and dead.
  8. He raised an eyebrow. "I wouldn't think so."
  9. TAAron walked up next to her. "This is different."
  10. "Alright. I'll... keep that in mind." Finally, the dream faded away.
  11. Haly could hear her own furious and panicked voice, and Ranryu responding. TAAron held her tightly, trying to ignore it himself.
  12. "What can I expect?" Lerac asked her.
  13. "Well, she'll find I already have a much more powerful god taking charge."
  14. "I mean, I know it happened. But I wasn't there when I was... well..." He shook his head, then turned to her and pulled her close. "I'm sorry. I didn't want it to take us here. Let's just wait it out."
  15. TAAron looked at it in shock. "I don't remember this... How is this in my dream?"
  16. TAAron stood over his own dead body. It lay in the dirt, chest cut open and blood spilled from the attempt to remove the shard of Stacis that carried Malum's influence. Haly, Lerac, and the others were around it, in various states of distress. Lerac shrugged. "Alright. I'm worried about Aventine, but I guess I do have to go back. Try to look after her. She's been through a lot."
  17. "I'm glad I was worth that to you."
  18. Sighing again, Lerac reached for and grabbed his dagger. The unsheathed dagger was a strange, glossy black. When it moved, it left an afterimage. "That's sweet. Did you always want to come back?"
  19. "Oh, so this was pretty recently?" TAAron looked out on the strange seas. "This is quite the place. Did you like it here, by then?" --- Lerac opened his eyes again, passively observing the conversation between the two women. He rubbed the new scar on his neck. @Spark of Hope @InfiniteInsanity
  20. "Well, it seems like we're getting some nicer memories now."
  21. TAAron grinned and leaned into the embrace. For a dream, it felt real enough. Lerac went on. "Maybe, maybe not. But I think you should tell her." TAAron's eyes widened. "No! No, I couldn't. That would ruin everything. I don't deserve..." He trailed off, hearing a voice getting nearer. “Marshmallows at the camp,” the younger version of Haly said as she approached along with a rabbit. She flung out her arms. “This is camp,” she announced. “That’s TAAron, Nameless, and Lerac. Everyone, meet Shark!” The younger TAAron looked down and away, turning even redder. The memory faded.
