  1. "Mike! You're alive." Erin's voice spoke from the other place once more. "I don't know what happened, I was just falling, and I managed to shift away, but..." Their voice trailed off into and eerie silence.
  2. Erin ripped themself out of his arms, and kicked him away midair, isolating them. As Mike hit the ground, though, Erin disappeared.
  3. "We had fun, didn't we?" Then without warning, they pushed him into the canyon, and followed, plummeting into the depths.
  4. "Oh, Mike. You really thought I loved you? That quickly, that easily?" They laughed again. It was cold and soulless.
  5. They jerked their hand away. "Don't touch me." The space in front of them compressed, and they were suddenly at the canyon again. Erin stood at the edge, looking down.
  6. They turned to look at him. Their eyes were cold as ice. "I don't love you, Mike." They broke into heartless laughter. "What a fool I was." They pulled away from him and walked back into the forest.
  7. Erin went stiff. "No. No, I'm wrong."
  8. "I'm... trying." The haunted expression came back to their face, but they smothered it. @Experience
  9. "Sorry. But as amazing as this is, there are some more important things to do." They smiled. "Thank you, though."
  10. Erin, after a moment, pulled away, expression more serious. "Okay. I think we need to get back to things... like finding your friends." @Experience
  11. "Sorry, sorry. I had no idea... I'll go." She quickly walked away, leaving them be. Erin began to laugh, rendered giddy.
  12. Erin felt their heartbeat grow quicker, their need for him growing desperate and passionate. They stopped caring about breathing, or anything. They let out a soft, satisfied sigh as they let go completely. It was then that Vena walked into the forest to check in on Mike. She immediately turned bright red. "Oh! Uh. Sorry. Uh."
  13. They returned the enthusiasm, letting themself get lost in his embrace. They only paused for the briefest moments to breathe and gaze at him adoringly. When doubts crept up on them, they just kissed him harder.
  14. They shivered again, but for a much different reason this time. Erin wrapped their arms around Mike, and suddenly every part of them was so very close. Their lips grazed against each other. Erin drew in a sharp breath.
  15. They smiled back. They were still very close. Their eyes were locked to his, their warmth breath mingling with his.
  16. There was a moment's pause. "Then... I'll give it one more try."
  17. Their gaze was piercing. "Are you certain that you love me? Without any doubt? Do not... exaggerate, or jump to your answer too quickly." Their voice broke on the last part. "You need to know."
  18. Erin seemed to hesitate for a long moment. Then they moved in front of Mike, and put their forehead against his, staring into his eyes, expression unreadable.
  19. They shivered. "After everything... every time I've tried... I don't think I can."
  20. "Or it's pure, cruel coincidence."
  21. "Every time I tried... it destroyed me."
  22. Deep pain flooded Erin's expression. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you heal me. Or I should have just left afterward. I've hurt you now."
  23. "No! No, I've seen it. They were right."
  24. "I-I can't. They wouldn't lie to me."
