    Cedar tried to fight, but he was weak and in pain.

    Cedar found himself suffocating in the ice, and water melting from the fit-induced heart of his body began to fill his lungs.

    Cedar yelled again... and then the ice around him began to thaw.

    Cedar felt a rapidly rising pain, and cried out. Not the time...

    Cedar struggled, trying to escape the ice and get to Aydri.

    Carsten was long gone, having abandoned the caverns and his pursuit.

    Carsten began to walk away, back to where he had come from. Tayen smiled too.

    Carsten kept waiting, infinitely patient. --- Maybe? I wouldn't want you to give that up if it's something valuable to you, though.

    Carsten stayed still and quiet, waiting for her to do something. Right... How, though? Tayen looked at the two curiously.
