    "Language!" Beosta chided aloud. Then she frowned and turned to her stoat. "This is your ability?? Why didn't you say something???" Livetha's frustration lingered, along with some mental impressions along the lines of "stop ignoring me".

    "He's stubborn and mean," Beosta grumbled. Livetha chirped again, jumped onto her shoulder, and pawed her hair. Beosta growled. "Not now, Livetha!" Livetha's little stoat eyes closed and her body went eerily still. An emotion slammed into their minds (beosta's and shoe's)--- intense, burning frustration.
