    “Petty?” She snorted. “I just wanted to set something on fire, dummy.” That sounds amazing ”Yeah, yeah, showoff.” She gave him a thumbs up and did the same. “I do not worry about his betrayal.” She summoned him a glass of wine, then took another sip of his own. “I should be quite pitiful if I had to worry about his betrayal. The rabbit does pose a problem, though not for much longer. I will go parley soon.” Bat jumped. He set down the tattoo needle— his tattoos were just about completely refinished. “Okay.” Dontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutit. “Nope. I’ve gone a long ways and not found one. Got my own theories now.” Rose flicked a bit of egg at him from across the table. “Stop looking like that,” she told him. “Why do you look like that, anyway?”

    Bat went to his room to find something to do to distract himself. His thoughts had been extremely hard to lock up lately. — “Exploring. If that through the curtain’s heaven, there’s gotta be a Hell, and frankly I’m curious.” The eggs were on fire when she got back. Rose cackled, seeing this, and let them burn for a good couple seconds before smothering it with the pan lid.

A man— he looked old, but didn't seem to have any physical oldness— fell into step next to them. “What’re you kids doing out here?” Gaioh shrugged. “Following her.” “Hmph. You must be new.”
