It's been well established that it is a pre-recorded video today, dropping probably at noon est, and a Livestream to discuss it tomorrow.
Excellent. I knew the reveal was today, but I hadn't heard or read anything about what time today it will be released. I do know that Noon EST (10 am Mountain Time) was when he released the title reveals and readings of his Four Secret Projects.

I have absolutely no idea. It will be set in the future era of the Cosmere and have a high level of "Cosmere connectivity." Beyond that, I can't even speculate.

....My crackpot theory is the Cusicesh isn't a spren but is something else that is sprenlike in qualities but more powerful and can somehow travel amongst planets.
I suspect that Cusicech is a actually splinter of a Shard, or something of equivalent power. He may have been watching over the Iriali since they began their Long Trail.

Does anyone else think that maybe Cusicech opened the Perpendicularities and started the journey to the Fifth Land because of what's going to happen to Roshar when Dalinar duels Odium's champion?
Because I do.

This is our first canon description of how the Evil physically manifested. While reading Shadows For Silence, I visualized it as a dark, enormous cloud that drained people's lives. Nomad makes it sound more like the Evil manifested as a bunch of kaiju that rampaged across the Homeland (the primary continent on Threnody).

The Sunlit Man offers us our first tantalizing hints about the nature of the Evil that slew most of the humans on Threnody. The relevant passage occurs on Page 140:
Spoiler“We came from another world,” she said around bites of her food. Odd, how they even ate with gloves on. “Chased by an ancient force known as the Evil.”
“It’s still there,” he said. “On your homeworld. I’ve seen it. Well, the manifestations of it.” Wild, unchained Investiture, come to life with its own alien will—forming mountain-sized figures with impossible, unnerving features and unknowable motivations. Threnody was not a place one visited to relax.
This comment finally threw her for a loop. She almost dropped her sandwich as he said it.

A superb book. indeed. Brandon said he wanted to write a story that maintained a constant breakneck pace, and he did so quite well. He did a great job of maintaining a driving momentum that never let up for more than a few moments.

....Virtuosity is weird in how she is the only known Vessel to have Shattered her own Shard. Maybe it was suicide due to a growing weltschmerz and depression, maybe it was some weird way to protect herself, we don't really have any clue.
She also might have Splintered herself to prevent her Shard from being seized by another.

All in all Elantrian magic seems very powerful indeed
Of all the magic systems in the Cosmere, AonDor comes closest to D&D arcane spellcasting in its power and wide range of effects.

I wasn't expecting this to be the cosmere book where we actually met a dragon.

Kelsier held the shard of Preservation, so any metal created or generated during that brief time should still be Lerasium. Harmonium is different because the Shard in question is different.

The excerpts have been released after 10am Mountain Time USA. We should find out in about an hour and a half.

Tor.com said that preview chapters would be released until the book is released. Since the book's release date is the 15th of this month, I would imagine there will be 2 more posts. That's how it was done on the previous Wax and Wayne book.

OMG these cliffhangers! Does anyone know if we will get another preview Monday? Assuming not since the book release is the next day.
The book will be released on the 15th of this month. They said these posts would continue until the release. Therefore, I would imagine there will be two more posts (on the 7th and the 14th).

Brandon has said that the god-metals do not correspond to any metals found in our universe. For example, harmonium/ettmetal is not cesium or any other alkali metal, even though it shares the property of extreme reactivity.

"Today, he’d have given almost anything to be someone else. MeLaan, wearing that fetching body—they were all fetching, honestly—led him through the entry hall to a small private sitting room on the other side."
Uh, one of MeLaan's body is a dog, Wayne. Are you trying to tell us something?......

Maybe Harmony wants Wax to spike himself with Harmonium and Trellium so that he can have a conference with Wax and Trell.

Looking at the sword's hilt, its design is very much like the Windrunners' glyph. It's not exactly the same, but quite similar.

I guess the blade is Bright White, which is being highlighted in this artwork too. But not much to go on, I agree.
Apparently the blade being pure white is done so that the sword's design is easier for the sculptors to see. It's not necessarily the sword's actual color.

“The ash comes again,” the man said through bloody lips, his voice strangely grating. “The world will fall to it. You will get what you deserve, and all will wither beneath a cloud of blackness and a blanket of burned bodies made ash.”.....
“Your end,” the voice whispered. “Your end comes. Either in ash, or at the hands of the men of gold and red. Gold and—”
This is definitely another Death Rattle.

Did anyone else notice that the trellium spike repelled itself from the other three spikes (as if it had a magnetic charge of some kind)? I think this might be a hint that Trell is an avatar of Autonomy (wanting to stand apart from others).

I loved the story in the broadsheet about Handerwym suing Allomancer Jak. I'm curious about what "Evanoplays" are. Could they be a primitive form of movie?

- What do you think are the flying creatures with bat wings in the botom right? It seems more like a dinasaur than a modern-earth bird.
It looks exactly like a pterodactyl.

I like the time skip but I think it is weird that we have had 6 years pass and Wayne and MeLaan have apparently been dating all this time up until very recently. I dunno this just seemed like a "fling" to me in the last book. It feels like if they have been together this long they should have been married. Not for any moral reasons obviously that ship sailed in the last book but it just seems weird to me they would just "date" this long.
I've known quite a few couples in real life that have been together for years without getting married. Wayne and MeLaan dating that long doesn't seem all that unlikely to me.
Also, perhaps MeLaan feels that marriage to a short-lived human would be a bad idea. Watching your spouse grow old and die in what would be a short time from your perspective would be pretty painful.

Secret Project Title Reveal and Reading

I hope everything's okay. That's how my mind works. When delays happen, I don't get mad. I start worrying instead.
