    ”Psh,” the girl says, stretching out atop her mount. Loose hair falls over the beast’s head. It doesn’t react. Her eyes open, pure black, and she points a lazy finger at her questioner. “Why’re you saying all these nonsense words, shorty?”

    The beast continues to stare for a moment, before it seems to… shrug, closing its eyes and resting its head on the ground. Jostled, the girls grumbles in annoyance and rolls over on the creature’s back. “Mistwraith?” she mumbles. “What kinda spren is that?”

    From amidst the trees and shrubbery, a great creature begins to stir, its low, resonate bellowing a quartet in sound. Great orbs of silver open, staring deep at the strangers before it, one after another. Its mouth opens, revealing layers of teeth, before closing with a huff. Made of a ruddy carapace stained by violet, and multiple times larger than any beast of burden, it paints a monstrous figure. Except for the girl atop it, sprawled prone across its ridged body. The red-haired girl has somehow found herself asleep, despite the apparent discomfort such a position must surely accompany. “Bwuh,” her sleeping form says.

    Mercyrose does not gain anything from her bond with Longinus. Asides from them having an instinctual knowledge of where the other is. And their mood and stuff. They’re best friends! Muahaha, stubbornness wins again!

    Investiture eating crustacean-bug-dragon! They are the larger, extinct cousins to Larkin. Chiri-Chiri but bigger! Plural being lanceryn, which is probably the more recognizable term. A Guardian of Ancient Sins! (Or, it’s a term for a mecha, outside of cosmere stuff)

    it is just one… plus one half, plus one half! edit: though, if i were to make a serious case, singer ancestry doesn’t really count for anything, and the bond with the lancer doesn’t provide any particular benefit… for the Surgebinder, that is.

    One out of three! Close enough! Iunno how to justify mecha. I read some mistborn fanfic thing a while ago that had allomancers join their souls with mechs through specialized hemalurgy or something, which was neat. Abhuman, too, was merely a description for a hybridspecies that does not yet exist. And so, I present, Mercy Rose! (Name pending, I have no idea how to name people. Being named for a FCRRP Vessel and a wholly different Shard is way funny, though.) Holy heck, their names are both puns. Have mercy on me.

    I have recently arrived at a potential character concept I may wish to employ, using multiple concepts currently in the experimental phase of creation. A concept that would only exist in a theoretical future that has not yet come to pass. (If such a thing was acceptable.) In five words:

    I don’t think the only way for a Kandra to gain Metallic Arts is through Trellium Hemalurgy, buts it’s currently the only known method to do so. (Other than Lerasium.) Theoretically, special Allomantic/Feruchemical Blessings might be something that exists, but the method to create them is something only Harmony knows. Here’s the Shadows of Self bit I think is relevant, spoken by Harmony. I don’t think it specifically says ‘It is impossible for a Kandra to be able to do this,’ just that Bleeder shouldn’t know the (if any) method. Using Trellium could be a way to do so that Harmony was unaware of, and would be ‘cheating’, in a way, by using foreign Investiture.

    First, ya gotta settle on a power source. Investiture is needed for stuff. If I were to stick as closely as possible to the original, always available aspect of the Shockstarter’s abilities (at least, that’s how I read it), I would say that the Shockstarter has some form of permanent access to the Spiritual Realm, purely as a source for fuel. In a way, the Shockstarter’s soul would act as an lightbulb plugged into the Spiritual Realm. Able to pull out power to perform lightning stuff at a whim. The damage can be translated as the draw damaging the spirit in a way potentially similar to Savantism, in its permanent warping of the soul. The slow, long-term healing would also be explained by this very small, constant draw of Investiture from the Spiritual Realm. Active use is too much for the soul to handle, but passive is not. You could edit the specifics of the lightning/electromagnetic effects, too, but I don’t think it’s strictly necessary.
