On a Strong Day *Spoilers*
neverearth replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Stormlight Archive
Taravingian is a rather old man. As is common with most people as they get older, his strength comes and goes. At times, he might lose focus, forget what he was thinking or saying, all that natural stuff that happens as you age. -

Herald Chapter Pictures--Identities *spoilers*
neverearth replied to Timemaster11's topic in Stormlight Archive
On page 285, when Adolin is talking with Ardent Kadash in the temple: While this may just be a product of Vorinism and not actual truth, I think it's a pretty good assumption that this is fact. There may be other references to the genders, but this is the one that sprang to mind first. Edit: Timemaster got there before me. Curses. -
Herald Chapter Pictures--Identities *spoilers*

Excellent. I'm glad I'm not the only one making posts about this. You can see my theories about this here. I've got an updated version of the chart and theories going up sometime this week. Also, in your supporting evidence, number 2 has the name Nanat. This a typo, or a more obscure reference in the book? (And if it is in the book, page number? I've been trying to find all the obscure references to names of the Heralds.) -
We may want to have a cleanup list too. Some pages may be combined for convenience or because it just makes sense to have things on the same page, and that can leave extra pages lying around that need to be deleted, moved, or redirected. For instance, I just combined the three lashing pages together onto one page (because it just seemed silly to have a main lashing page that linked to three more pages), and I have no idea how to hide/delete the old pages.

Excellent~ Some of these can definitely go on the same pages and such, but it's good to know what needs to be done. Random question - What page in the book did you find the name Vedeledev on?

Maybe they're from the same shard? I haven't really read through all the threads on TWG, but I've seen some posts in the Splintered threads and other threads in regards to the Almighty that speculate that the name of his shard might be something like Unity or Binding or something like that. On another note, how is the word 'bind' meant? The context of Syl's words indicate that she holds things together. She holds people to their oaths and stuff like that. However, with the Dawnshard, I interpreted it as binding a creature to the bearer's will, or perhaps imprisoning something. While the word is the same, in my mind they have subtly different meanings.

Shiro seems to be able to split his cat form into two kittens. Beware! I shall have to form a secret society to oust him from my university, for he seems to have great control over the wifi. D:

Five of the chapter faces are female. Six are male, and one only appears when Hoid/Wit is in the chapter. So assuming the other ten are the Herald's faces (which I think is pretty solid; you can see my thoughts about it here), that would mean there are five female Heralds. All five male Heralds are named (Jezrien, Nalan, Kalak, Talenel, Ishar), so it's a pretty safe bet that Shalash is female. And I really like the idea that Shalash might be the woman destroying the artwork. When I read that chapter, I thought it was just there to give a solid explanation of the Old Magic, but I was utterly bewildered by Baxis' mistress. This theory is as good as any, though I would like to point out that Shalash=Shash (theoretically) and the Primary Attribute of Shash is creativity. Kinda odd that she'd be destroying art, which could be considered the height of creativity.

That's the one with the firespren, right? (I don't have my book right now.) That'sw the one I thought was the important discovery. I think the only other person in the Interludes who made any kind of discovery is Axies, but I'm pretty sure alespren won't have "long-lasting ramifications."

Is it possible to put a picture field in the book info box? So we can have a picture of the book cover on the page. Also, I think the delete-template is a little too bright. Maybe it's just a problem for me (I do have a bit of a hard time with bright colors), but I had trouble reading the words in the notice because the red was too intense. Otherwise, these are great!

I actually think that the large front cover symbols are the hilts of the Dawnshards, since the sword imprinted on the cover and the swords behind the Part titles have hilts exactly like three of the symbols. For the back symbols, I'd like to mention that one of the large ones appears on the map of Kharbranth on page 454. Possibly a city sigil? Maybe they're city sigils for ten of the major cities of the five Vorin nations? Or they could be sigils for the ten Silver Kingdoms, that got passed down. For the smaller symbols, I'd like to point out that the back cover ones are ambigrams. They are also the opposites of the ones on the front cover. Look at them; the basic shape of the front cover small symbols are reversed on the back. I have no idea what that means, but it is significant.

I'd say this is a good idea. The separate pages are rather annoying.

As a note, Peter Ahlstrom said that the the Ars Arcanum has a typo in my thread here ---> http://www.stormblessed.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=166 So I switched Just/Confident and Learned/Giving on the wiki, and put in a source citation, which we can remove if they fix that in the next printing of the book.

A question for the administrator-man. Do you want us to post major editing things we do to the wiki here, or is this more of a 'hey, can I do this?' and 'hey, can someone help me with this?' kind of subforum? Anyway, I know pretty much the basics in editing and using a wiki like this, and I'll probably figure out everything else as I get more familiar with it. That said, at the moment, the wiki is really hard to navigate. The only way to get to the pages you want is to look at editing history or click the Random Page link. So I'm just letting it be known that I'm going to start editing the main page and stuff to make navigation easier. I'll put links to sub-main pages, one for each of Sanderson's series. Each of those pages should have a general summery of the story, and links to different pages pertaining to each series, like Andrew the Great's more detailed chapter summaries. I'm gonna need a bit of help with that. I haven't read the last two Mistborn books (blasphemy, I know, but my library doesn't have them), so I can't exactly summarize them. And as people add pages, they should definitely link them up, because I don't really want to hunt things down as the wiki gets bigger.

Someone on Dragonmount mentioned this place, so here I am. I'm Gabrielle, also known as neverearth here on the interwebs, and I am a digital painter. I also read a lot, but I think that's a given when you're looking up forums dedicated to books and authors. I probably won't post a lot. I'm more inclined to lurk and comment in my head. I probably won't be handing out many opinions or theories or such, but I do like to help people, so clear cut information is usually coming from this direction.
