Just wanted to say here that no one here is actually the "villain". The author is just writing on the side of Dalinar and the Knights Radiant. If Sanderson was writing from the side of Odium, Dalinar might be the villain. However, many people who were not "good enough" turned out to be a good ruler like Dalinar.
I believe that all the posts above is true, and that all these themes are part of what Sanderson is picking as a "theme" for this series. The series suggest many things about our lives and as Sanderson finishes the Stormlight archive, we may have a new view of a theme throughout the series.
I do believe that each book is expressing different theme/themes, supported by the previous themes to develop more level and layer upon this. Each book also serves to contradict/support previous themes to develop the theme that there is no one thing that is prominent, but multiple themes and choices made and sacrifices needed, and the consequences that may follow
