    Deckh decided that this thing couldn’t be trusted and waited for it to get distracted, then smoothly walked towards the sounds of trouble. This monstrosity wasn’t something he could take on his own.

    Deck rose from his crouch slowly and froze standing straight up, knives still in hand. He organized his thoughts, planning two possibilities: reason with and befriend the beast, or kill it and escape. The smile started to grow on him, though, and he began to prefer the first choice.

    I have a theory that Kelsier used Spook’s body to somehow Hemalugically bond himself back to the Physical Realm, but I don’t know what the ramifications of that would be.

    Deckh smoothly rose to his feet and covertly downed a vial of metal, then concealed the empty vial and fell into a loose crouch, daggers in hand. The set of actions was second-nature to him, drilled into his muscle memory after years of training. He scanned for danger and saw the strangest creature he’d ever laid eyes on appear as if it materialized.

    Deckh inspected Alask’s hard yet hopeful expression and considered all this new information. ”I’m in,” he said, nodding.

    Deckh sat quietly, observing all these events with an unreadably calculating expression, beginning to lessen in suspicion at these newcomers. He turned to Darien. “What exactly is it you want us to do, Darien? Don’t know about my friends here, but I sure take a job more willingly if I’ve got all the info. Or if there’s something in it for me…”

    Hey, forge people Please correct me if I’m doing something against the rules, this is my first time in an Alleyverse story thread Also, is there anything specific I need to read to get caught up with what’s happened on that thread so far or am I good to jump in with general basic context?

    One of the card-players paused, glancing suspiciously at the newcomer. He studied Darien for a few moments before replying. “That depends on who sent you, friend. I’m Deckh.” Deckh turned back to his card game, waiting on his companions to do the rest of the talking.

    Sorry to derail back into earlier arguments, but I don’t think it’s as simple as “is aluminum anti-investiture or is it just inert?” because of things like Duralumin. That essentially does the opposite of Aluminum, taking all your investiture and exploding it off like a catalyst rather than deleting it. Overall, I don’t think this is a discussion that can be settled until we know more.

    I was rereading the first book of mistborn and came across something that piqued my interest. I don’t remember precisely what scene it was in, but Vin mentions skaa workers climbing the Luthadel city walls to scrape off the mist-grown lichen. The mists are literally pure investiture. Is it just me, or should there be something a bit different about lichen that lives on gaseous investiture? This might just be a little inconsequential detail, but it made me curious.

    I would have posted this before today if I actually had free time.

    This past Saturday was closing night of Newsies at my high school! It was a lot of fun and a lot of really active dance numbers and a REALLY complex set (essentially the same set as the Broadway one if any of y’all have seen it on Disney plus) with an amazing lot of people in the cast and crew. Oh, how I love doing shows :) 

    Y'all probably don’t care all that much about my musical theater status, but I don’t care because that’s what status updates are for :P

    Quick question: What do I need to do to get a character reviewed/approved? I posted one on the character thread If that's all I need to do, then how long does it normally take for a mod to get a character reviewed/approved after it's posted?

    Heyyyy I found my people! I love Sandon Branderson! My favorite book was the one where the guy draws some lines and makes a big thing start glowing again...? maybe called like Elantra or something? like the car, I guess
