  1. When you subconsciously think that every old man, court jester or storyteller in a book is Hoid. Seriously, I routinely think I spot Hoid in the books I read. He's everywhere.

When you see the words, "It's the journey, not the destination" in a book and nearly have a heart attack.

When random song lyrics remind you of Kaladin or other characters.

When all your friends, who haven't read the Cosmere, know certain release dates of upcoming books because you can't shut up about them.

  2. Great guesses all, but it is in fact Lift!!! The round goes to you Shinwarrior :)

Here are the rest of the clues and why I picked the musicals:

    3. My Fair Lady: this character is a female and her speech may be considered improper by some. (I love the way Lift talks and sometimes I imagine she has a Cockney accent but that's just me)

    4. The Hunchback of Notre-dame: this character makes an effort to help the outcasts. Plus Frollo and Nale have some similarities for sure.

    5. Peter Pan: this character makes great efforts not to grow up. Lift has always given me Peter-Pan-but-in-a-sad-way vibes.

Fun round  everyone, thanks for participating :)

  3. Okay, I'mma go to bed in a sec so here are the first two clues translated just to narrow it down.

    1. Les Miserables: this character is surrounded by people who have very difficult and sad lives (or in other words this character is from Roshar!) So I had no idea that Brando Sando was inspired by Les Mis for Mistborn but Valjean  has always gave me Kaladin vibes, and when I listen to Empty Chairs at Empty Tables I just think of Kaladin and cry lol. And Work Song/Prologue/Look Down gives me slaves/Bridge Four vibes, plus "Stars" is definitely the Skybreaker theme lol. Hopefully that makes sense, but here's number two since that doesn't narrow it down much.

    2. Newsies: this character is an orphan. Don't think I need to explain that one as much right now lool, just that this character could probably be a Newsie in another life.

  4. Not Hoid, he'd be a great Chlopin though (just guessing on the spelling since I haven't read the Hunchback novel lool.)

Not Beldre either, sorry I didn't see your post! Here's the last clue :)

Not Kelsier, Vin, Nale, Lord Ruler, Ein, Grund, Dalinar, Spook, Wayne, Hoid, Shallan or Beldre.

    1. Les Miserables

    2. Newsies

    3. My Fair Lady

    4. The Hunchback of Notre-dame (just realized I've got two Victor Hugos on here!)

    5. Peter Pan (any addition or adaptation works for this one, I know there are quite a few.
