    Caden went back to his food, looking thoroughly unconvinced. "I don't know if I can say the same yet."

    He scoffed, "you're only here because you have to be, not because I'm a 'looker' or anything else like that."

    Caden turned to look at his food, "so what? That doesn't make me any more handsome, and we both know that."

    Caden scoffed, "what was that you just said about not lying? I'm an old and scarred man, there's nothing handsome here."

    Caden felt his face grow hot again, and he growled in annoyance. "Flattery will get you nowhere."

    Caden ground his teeth, "I am."

    "I don't recall," he said as he looked back at Riva, "but it wouldn't surprise me."

    "Doesn't make thinking about it all that much bearable."

    "I did not enjoy that part."

    "Doesn't mean you need to practice it on me," he grumbled as he picked at his food. "And yes, I enjoyed the massage," he hesitantly admitted.

    "What, no I-" He glared at Riva, "how do you do that?"

    "Only because you gave me a backrub," Caden insisted as he growled back at her, not quite as playful as she was.

    Caden growled, "I am tougher than I appear."

    "I doubt that," Caden said as he stabbed a chunk of meat.

    "I hope you understand," Caden said as he looked up towards Riva, "I have no interest in such activities."

    He cleared his throat, "nope, nothing."

    "Don't get me anything," Caden asserted. "There's nothing you could give me that I want."

    Caden coughed in the middle of sipping his drink, "we're supposed t get each other gifts for anniversaries?"

    Caden huffed as he raised his own cup to take a sip, "I prefer the juice of fruit."

    "Clean water keeps the men from getting sick," Caden stated as he used a large knife to cut off a chunk of meat.

    Caden watched the woman with concern as she ate more than he thought she should, given her size. He sighed, then took his own plate and began eating.

    "I trust it," Thetan asserted, "I'm just unsure if there's anything better that we can trust in or not."

    Caden raised an eyebrow as he sat in his own chair, "you can't eat all that."

    Several dozen heavily armed men, clad from head to toe tactical gear that was colored in a pattern similar to the ground surrounded them, had backed away from the cave entrance until they were over a hundred meters away. Far behind the men, barely visible on the horizon, one could see a groups dotting the area, creating a parameter around the area that the cave was in. Then, just as the men were stopping their backward movement and settling in to the area in a defensive formation, a low rumbling could be heard in the distance, the only reason that it stood out from the regular ambiance is that it grew in volume and intensity, getting louder slowly at first, but with each passing second it intensified quicker. Soon the very rocks and ground began to tremble, as several pinpricks on the horizon came into greater detail to reveal twelve aircraft speeding through the air towards the cave.
