  1. Thetan looked towards the others with a curious eye as he raised a brow, but shrugged and then moved to follow the old woman.
  2. The sunlight peaking through the poorly covered up window had been slowly shifting over the last few hours that Caden had been sitting at his desk unnoticed until it was angled perfectly to land right in his right eye, causing him to blink and shake his head. With a quick glance to the small clock on the wall, he got up sighing in resignation. Caden rolled his shoulders slowly, trying to work out the soreness that had been building up due to those accursed hours that he had spent reviewing the seemingly endless reports that made their way onto his desk. He hadn't been told when precisely she wanted to leave, so he had decided to be ready a half hour before he normally would have been for one of these insufferable events. He strode to the door, deciding to stay in his current uniform before making his way out towards the carriage to check if the Raveness was waiting for him already, it honestly wouldn't have surprised him, given how insistent she was over going to this thing.
  3. Caden sighed, relieved that she left him to his own thoughts, but also feeling an odd longing for her to return to him. He turned away and ignored the strange feeling, heading off to his own bedroom.
  4. "Yes," he said a little too quickly. Caden cleared his throat, "what I mean is that I'd like to spend tonight alone."
  5. "I do hope that you have a good evening," Caden said as he looked down the hall. "It's not as nice as my own bed, but it's still quite comfortable."
  6. Caden looked down at his nearly empty plate, and stood up. "Very well, then."
  7. Caden grinned, shaking his head. "I'll assume that means you're done."
  8. Caden chuckled, "you're very persistent."
  9. "You make me concerned," Caden said as he looked between Riva and her empty plate. "Did you eat all of that just to prove me wrong?"
  10. "I'm guessing that's what you did just now."
  11. "It seems I was wrong," he looked over Riva with a critical eye, "how do you need all that food?"
  12. Caden nearly chuckled, "a little late for that."
  13. "I meant why are you 'sorry' about it," Caden clarified.
  14. "Why?" Caden put down his knife, watching Riva intently for her answer.
  15. "I'll bear that in mind," Caden said as he went back to picking at his food, his apatite having mysteriously vanished.
  16. "I'm up late," Caden stated, "expect that."
  17. Caden cleared his throat, "as you said, we are married. You will not parade around the castle in your underwear so that the serving staff can see you, and you will not expect me to do the same."
  18. "Do you actually do that?" Caden asked as he raised an eyebrow.
  19. "I-" Caden paused, also recalling the event. "Well, I didn't mean to see you like that . . ."
  20. "Doesn't make it any less uncomfortable!" He leveled his fork at Riva, "Would you take your own shirt off in front of me, given everything we've done against one another?"
  21. "I don't have 'body image issues!' I just don't think that it's proper."
  22. "No, but it's . . ." He considered the question for a moment, trying to work on a justification quickly, but ultimately failing.
  23. "Uh," he shifted in his seat, "the shirt shouldn't come off."
  24. Caden paused, apparently considering the statement. "I will bear that in mind, if you wish."
