  1. Caden whipped around, "what more, woman!"
  2. The general shoved past the guardsmen, storming his way towards the nearest carriage before shouting at the coach man. "Leave for Castle Praetorium immediately!"
  3. Caden paused upon seeing Riva in that state, but his attention was quickly grabbed. He whipped around, his face red with fury. "Stand aside or I will spread your blood upon the wall!"
  4. Caden roared as he lifted Riva up and hurled her into the mud in front of him to get her claws away from his face. "Don't you DARE talk about her, you Maal-WOMAN!" He stepped forward, raising his hand to strike her face again.
  5. Caden gasped and whipped around at the flare of pain in his arm, smacking the Raveness firmly across the face. "All you've ever been is a nuisance, a problem that I have to worry about!" He stomped forward, to grab her again. "We're leaving."
  6. Caden felt a burning in his eyes, but grit his teeth and dragged the Raveness behind him as he stormed to the palace door.
  7. He grabbed her shoulder, and yanked her out of the chair. "You creeping, foul," He shouted as he flipped the table they were sitting at with his other hand, blood pounding in his ears, "ugly woman!"
  8. In a fraction of a second, the glass shattered in the general's hand. He stood up with his hands clenching into fists despite the blood that dripped from the one that held his glass; pain didn't even qualify to be an after thought. "Don't you ever mention her name, you lying witch," he hiss through clenched teeth, moving to grab at her dress.
  9. Caden took the cup with a nod before freezing, his knuckle turning white as they gripped the cup. "What?"
  10. Caden glared at the action of taking his cup, "I can get one for you so you don't have to steal mine."
  11. "A . . . Journal?" He raised an eyebrow at his wife, "from one of your victims?"
  12. "Only report after endless report as I should be doing," he glared at young woman picked out at random, and softly chuckled when she quickly averted her gaze. "I have little time for reading at the moment, with all of the activity."
  13. "He won't be the only one," Caden growled softly.
  14. "Oh hush, you're making us look approachable."
  15. "I'm not-" He sighed, taking a sip of the drink. "You're insufferable, you know." Caden used the glass to try and hide the grin that was leaking onto his face despite his best efforts.
  16. "I don't care," Caden lied once more, "I'm a military general, and we don't like dancing. Even if that dancing is wonderful."
  17. Caden took a drink from the serving man and regarded it warily for a moment, "what will that change?"
  18. "Why?" He glanced around to glare at anyone who got close except for on of the serving staff who was carrying drinks, Caden waved the man over. "You seem to already know the answer."
  19. "Very well," he nodded, finding little reason to care about what those around them thought. "What do we do now, then?"
  20. Caden took a deep breath, but he couldn't hide his second thoughts over the subject. "Fine, I'm relaxed."
  21. "And several dozen fools who couldn't keep their mouths shut if everything they owned depended on it."
  22. "I didn't enjoy it," Caden protested too quickly, "it was my first dance, anyways. Not to mention we didn't keep in time," ha grumbled.
  23. "It was . . ." Caden made a show of clearing his throat, struggling to come up with an appropriate word. "It wasn't uh, boring."
  24. "I suppose, unless you wish to fetch something to drink."
  25. Caden hesitantly let her go, performing an awkward bow in imitation of the young men around him. He snarled as he heard a few snickers, convinced they were directed at him.
