  1. "Says the woman who came back to me," he glanced towards the door that a pair of his personal guard stood outside of. "Loyalty means more to me than anything. But you know that you didn't have to look so beautiful, right? It's almost over the top."
  2. "You're all that and more, Riva." He kissed her lightly on her forehead, "I just always find out something new about you."
  3. Caden smiled, "you're a strange woman, Riva."
  4. "You're telling me that getting you a body would have been better than those flowers?"
  5. "I picked up on that rather quickly," he said just before he kissed her back, "and you're sure you want the body? I can have some men bury it."
  6. "Anything for you, love." He raised his arm and wiped the blade before wrapping his other arm around his wife. "You must have hated him to be so eager to work on his corpse."
  7. "He spat on my face," Caden told her, "and he also refused to leave after I warned him." He lifted his blade to look at the blood, "not quite as satisfying as being forced to fight for another man's blood, but it will do."
  8. The general hardly hesitated when he brought down his blade, aiming for Daku's neck.
  9. Caden leapt forward, swinging his blade to cut the fool down with a growl in his throat.
  10. "Oh, you don't get a choice," Caden said with a smirk as he leveled his blade. "I haven't had the chance to wet this blade with blood for weeks, so please give me an excuse and try to stay."
  11. Caden shouted for his guardsmen, then glared at the old man again. "You are trespassing in my home."
  12. "All you are is an old creep who worships her like a lost child." He held his blade to his side, "leave now."
  13. "I would never tell the likes of you, old fool. Not even if you begged."
  14. "Of course," Caden growled, "she'd be dead by now if I didn't."
  15. The sliding sound of metal against leather came when Caden draw his blade. "I'll do more than that to you if you choose to continue standing there."
  16. Caden leaned down towards Daku, "I challenge you to find better. Because I'm giving her all I can."
  17. "Ah," Caden stormed a step forward, glaring down Daku. "I didn't realize you thought my wife to be better off back in her dungeon, feeding on scraps and the only comfort being her torturing methods. I didn't realize that you cannot wait for her to return to that Maal inspired existence. But know that I will not allow that to happen. Not in a million years will she return to that horrid life."
  18. Caden growled, "I've had enough of you, old fool. I will discuss this with my wife, but unless she desperately needs you, I won't let you near this building ever again. Understand?"
  19. Fischer rushed back to the Barracks, his mind racing over what he had done. It was only upon the realization that Allivia might not be intimidated enough to leave Nico alone that a new sense of urgency entered his step. He needed to get a man of the Praetorium Guard up here, now. If only there was a way to get rid of Allivia without causing too much legal trouble. Fischer smiled, a few words that the captain spoke returning to his mind. ---- "Be more worried about me, 'Deeku.' While I wouldn't lift a finger to harm my Riva again, I will not say the same for you."
  20. "Fortunately for you, I don't murder." He started to step away, but held her hands firmly for a moment. "However, in case you're getting any ideas," he said just before he jerked her hands backwards in sudden motion aimed to cause pain at the least, and dislocate a finger if Allivia was unlucky enough. "This isn't the last you'll hear from me, filth." ----- "If she does not require your assistance, then I see no need to hire a man such as yourself."
  21. "While it can be endearing, that man wouldn't lift a finger to harm a fly if his life depended on it." He sneered, "but I don't care, given my profession." ------ "Watch your tone," Caden replied with a deeper and more practiced growl. "Forget not whose roof you're under. I could have you cut to ribbons before she's ready for me to pick her up for dinner."
  22. "Tramp? Who made him that way, wench?" The young man's face hardly tried to hide his anger at the thought of Nico sitting alone in the medical center, believing himself to be worthless because of this woman. "I know you love causing him pain, so how about I send some back your way?" ------ "If I weren't the dull fool people take me for, I'd say it sounds like you worship my wife."
  23. Fischer growled, nearly matching the ferocity of the general during one of his rampages. "Lies," he hissed without relieving the pressure. "If you tear up the lives of those around you, then you could at least care to remember them." ----- "And why, with how the rest of the Kingdom views her, do you think that?"
  24. Before Fischer could think on what he was doing, his hands clenched Allivia's tightly. He started to push her hands backwards, bending them intentionally in a way that he knew would be painful. "I know who you are, Allivia Nordy, and I know what you've done." The words pushed their way through his gritted teeth, speaking slower and more deliberate than the blood rushing through his ears. ------ "Truthfully? Why is that?"
