I think KA's saying that Odium's true magic is similar to Hemalurgy, in that if no other magics exist, it literally does nothing. In this case, 'Voidbinding' is just Odium's twist on Surgebinding, and if Surgebinding didn't exist, neither would Voidbinding. Or I'm just interpreting it that way because it's my own theory, that whatever you want to call it (I really hope "Voiding" sticks, because I have a ten year-old's sense of humor), all Odium does is rip everyone else off.

I know it can be a little much trying to figure out which of 3 dozen boards your post may belong in, but thankfully, being RoW-related, it's going to go in the Rhythm of War Spoiler Area. As they say, " be mindful to put character discussion in the respective board, and worldbuilding/magic talk in the lore board," and if it's neither, then I guess General Thoughts is where you're headed. One of the first things to know about any forum is that it's not a big deal if you start a post in the wrong place, since the staff can either move it for you or lock it and let you know where to re-post it. Once you find the board, just click the big orange button near the top and start typing! Once you get settled in, if you're not already familiar with HTML formatting you can start fooling around with the toolbar above the text box to spruce things up. The main thing I'll point out is the "magnifying glass on paper" icon on the far left of said toolbar, which will let you preview how your post is going to look before you submit it. Honestly, I've only skimmed a few threads so far, but I'm not surprised to see that the community seems faaaaaar better than most lol so I don't think you have too much to worry about.

I'm just starting up here and cba to try searching through older threads, but did anyone else catch that the very name "Ghostbloods" can be linked to Scadrial? What's a synonym for "ghost"? "Wraith." What is 'blood' used to refer to? Familial connection. Do we happen to know of any creatures in the Cosmere which could be called 'relatives' of wraiths? Perhaps creatures which were created with the express purpose of being spies? I'm sure I'm not the only person to pick up on this, but it made me giggle when it clicked.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to consider it, but I'd wager Kal ends up taking Jezrien's place. The biggest reason why? Reread the series so far and keep track of the number of times someone tells him he's "only human," or something to that effect (IIRC, at one point someone straight up tells him he's not a Herald). That's it, that's my main argument Seriously, though, the dude's character arc is literally "man learns how to live with the psychological pain of endless fighting and knowing that everyone he loves will eventually die, but he has to keep living." That said, there are a few things that make it seem less far-fetched than when I first considered it, and this very question is one of them.
