  1. That's smart. I should probably think about that there are simply too many good books and there are very few that I don't like in some way or another. I loved Eragon when I was younger, recently did find a couple other good ones, though.
  2. @XaviGzz Those are some interesting choices, I'm sure a conversation with Jasnah would be cool and Lopen is a great character. Probably, I would like to meet Rock and Adolin, they both seem like people with whom you could have a good time. As for Mistborn, Elend and maybe Hammond; they're another pair you could have quite some interesting discussions with.
  3. @R J I don't think I could pick one either to be honest.
  4. Hello and welcome! I can only recommend Stormlight Archive; those were my first books by Sanderson. Reading Mistborn at the moment as well but I am a little behind you, can't wait to find out what happened though. Would you pick Allomancy or Feruchemy if you had to chose?
  5. Hello, welcome! Haven't gotten around to read Warbreaker myself yet, but it sounds like another amazing book by Sanderson. Are there certain characters you wish would meet at some point in the Cosmere?
  6. Fair enough, it's quite difficult to pick favorites. Do you have an all-time favorite book though whether inside Cosmere, outside or non-Sanderson? @AonEne Thank you!
  7. I'd love some spheres, those have always fascinated me while reading SA. I also wouldn't mind just a couple more t-shirts and hoodies I guess, want to show everyone to which fandom I belong even though, none of my friends know it about the cosmere. xD Hopefully, they'll eventually make a tv show or movie; that would be so cool!
  8. Just finished the TFE and currently anxiously waiting for my copy of TWoA to arrive (should get here tomorrow). I'm curious and eager to decide for myself if it really reads as slow as some people have suggested here. I agree that the latter parts of the first book are building up quite the suspense but it's obvious that it will be slower in the beginning of the second part, they have to take control of the city and such. I've also read reviews of Stormlight Archive where people have been saying that WoK is slow and takes a long time to build and with as many pages as that book has I honestly never felt like that at all; I've actually kinda devoured all three books in the SA even though they are so huge. So I guess I will find out in the next few days...
  9. Awesome, thanks so much. I'll definitely look into those. How did you get into Sanderon's work? Did you just pick it up in a book store or did friends recommend it? And whats your favorite book or series?
  10. I listen to them now, I've read the books the first time but decided to refresh my memory with ROW coming out so soon. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a listen. Always in need of new suggestions. Anything else you can recommend whether it be books or audiobooks?
  11. Oh yeah, kinda forgot about all the not so smart things Elhokar actually did. I'm in the process of relistening the whole SA... I don't think I'd take that gamble. It might be nice to go and ask for whatever you want but I wouldn't want the cures to go with it.
  12. Thank you! @Floga Fero
  13. I've done a digital drawing a while ago, it's kinda fluid, not really crisp, but it always reminded me of Kaladin in the chasms.
  14. Glad I found this. I've been intrigued by keteks ever since reading the first one and noticing the pattern in the books' headlines. Still amazed how people come up with great poetry like this! Wrote one on my own a year or so ago, it's only slightly influenced by the Knights Radiants Greatness - Radiating Inside - Alight forever - Alight inside - Radiating Greatness
  15. That is so interesting; I noticed the same...I am originally from Germany so when they finally made the Stormlight Archive available in German I thought some of the covers were cool but I was just so used to the US cover by that point. The reason why I probably love the US covers is that they are so epic and I myself am a huge fan of epic fantasy art. (Wish I would be so talented to create such wonderful and detailed art). But I have to admit the UK cover has something, too. The simplicity of the lines combined with a single color is quite striking. I wonder if the different covers are connected to the different cultures in the countries....
  16. Haha nice, I am listening it right now, too. Great minds think alike The audiobooks are good, I needed some time to adjust to the voices, just sounded different in my mind when I read them myself but they are certainly good. Plus it's nice to listen to such an epic while going about your daily business. I still love the feeling of the book in my hand, though, and reading the scene for myself. There is just so much power in it. So excited for the ROW!!!
  17. @R J Why do you not like Elhokar? But I agree with that assessment, usually those are the least likable characters/ Since I love the SA probably Surgebinding, I'd probably want to be a Windrunner. Even though, I am intrigued by Ironpulling and Steelpushing I don't think I'd be able to be good at it. What would you choose?
  18. totally agree with you, Vin is a great character. Even though, I still haven't finished the first Mistborn book she's changed so much already. Quite curious as to what happens next to her. And yes, i do like that "magic" system. It's interesting with the ideals, too, because you actually have to qualify for it and eventually anyone can end up with a connection to one of the orders.
  19. Thank you, i"m quite happy I signed up hmmmm....probably Moash and Amaram: I was most disappointed with Moash because I could be a good guy but he didn't do the right thing in my opinion and Amaram seemed like this hero and turned out not to be. Also it's really hard to have a least favorite character somehow because they're all quite well-written so I can kinda understand everyone and why they do what they do, it's difficult to find a character that I really do not like What about you?
  20. Wow, you've read all the works in the Cosmere? @Grenbot I accepted that as my new mission, about to spend a lot of money on books but that's ok i don't really mind if I know they're good ones. least favorite character for me would probably be Moash, too, he is probably the one character most people name...he just seemed like he could be a really good man and then all that happened...also Amaram was a little sketchy, in my opinion.
  21. Thanks Oh, difficult question but for Stormlight it's probably Kaladin, I just got really attached to him during the first book. Adolin is also a cool character though and I was very sad when Eshonai died. For Mistborn, definitely shipping Vin and Elend a lot right now. I have to pace myself with the first book, waiting on the two other parts to get here How about you? Any favorites?
  22. Hello everyone, I'm new here. Started reading the Stormlight Archive a couple years back, currently working through Mistborn. I am simply amazed with Sanderson's books, like I could read them all day and sometimes actually do, ups, but they turned my mind just completely upside down. Honestly, don't think I've ever read books before these that have captured my heart and soul so completely. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and am honestly so looking forward to discuss everything Cosmere here because none of my friends have ever read or even heard of Brandon's books (kinda upset about that) but I am just in desperate need to talk to some people who appreciate his work as much as I do. Have a great day
