Maybe she'll be riding a Laceryn dragon before the novella is done.

    USERNAME RELATED HYPE!!! :-D

It would indeed be very interesting to see a Radiant INFJ

Back in one of the old MBTI character threads an opinion was advanced that Shallan might be INFJ, but I don’t totally see it. (Though she is mega hard to classify anywhere IMO- I have *NFP I think)

I saw Dalinar more as an ESTJ than ENTJ

    Jasnah should be ENTJ

I had Jasnah down as INTJ based on the first couple of books, but I’ll take E given what goes down at the end of Oathbringer. Can see your point for Dalinar too, but he really has a ENTJ vibe for me mainly based on ENTJs I’ve known.

From what I understood, I'll sorting them according to their primary and auxiliary functions:

    Windrunners: Fe users (ESFJ, ENFJ)

Skybreakers: Si users (ISTJ, ISFJ), though I think maybe some auxiliary Si (ESTJ to be more exact) can also be sorted here

Dustbringers: Blurry, maybe auxiliary Fi (ESFP, ENFP) users since this a order focused on self-discipline and self-control and those two personality types has a severe problem with self-indulgence

    Edgedancers: Fi users (INFP, ISFP)

Lightweavers: Ne users (ENFP, ENTP), though I think maybe some auxiliary Ne (INFP to be more exact) can also be sorted here

    Elsecallers: Te users (ENTJ, ESTJ)

Truthwatchers: Ti users (INTP, ISTP) and maybe even introverted auxiliary Ne users (INTP, INFP)

Willshapers: Both Ne (ENFP, ENTP) and Se users (ESFP, ESTP), since both functions strongly seek freedom. The differences lies more if they pursue a more material (Eshonai, warrior) or subjective (Venli, scholar) ideal of freedom

Bondsmiths: Blurry. Maybe Te or Fe users, both functions are strongly related to seek the best decisions for the group, either in a more logical or sentimental approach

I didn't saw any order strongly associated with Ni. At first I thought Truthwatchers might be Ni users, but no... not really. Truthwatchers are concerned with fundamental truths, they want a deep understanding of structure and facts. A Ti user is naturally inclined to organizing and categorizing things and to make this they can use both sensing and intuition as information can be both gathered objectively and subjectively

Ni users are much more complicated and aren't that concerned with fundamental truths, indeed Ni isn't concerned with anything other than gather information and process it in a subconscious level.

NICE. This is the stuff I was looking for!

I have always had Dalinar down as ENTJ, so was letting that colour my Bondsmith interpretation.

This has paralells. The Cryptics themselves are big into science and math, yet they seek the artistic types.

And much as Shallan spends all her time drawing, but a big chunk of it is focused on natural history. And all her annotations are pure scientific observation and hypothesis. It's almost like Lightweavers have multiple apparently conflicting aspects to their characters... ;-)

Do we definitely know for sure that there are some orders without squires?

  6. You slog through 11, count'em, ELEVEN whole doorstop books full of Robert Jordan's meandering style for a year because you know those last three Wheel of Time books are going to be great. (Currently halfway into Towers of Midnight, and this hunch is bearing up strongly...)

    - ...maybe using Navani's flying boat

I had totally forgotten about the crazy flying boats! Would be super cool to see these become a thing at some point. Where can we get to that would need one...?

  8. Thank you for the welcoming replies! I’m up to date with all the Cosmere books, and midway through my Stormlight reread (though currently racing through Towers of Midnight towards the Sanderlanche that is the end of the Wheel of Time...)

Shallan is my fave of the main viewpoint characters. I love the flawed but functional coping strategies, the unexpected badassery, and also the relentless punning. I am also a big Rysn fan, and SO STOKED for Wandersail!
