Well, for one thing, I think it's just a pretty word. But more importantly, even when I'm at home, I usually feel homesick, and I have no idea for where. (Maybe I belong on Detrius instead of Earth). And that's pretty much what 'hiraeth' means.

I'm a bit late to this forum, but I would choose callsign: Hiraeth. It's a Welsh word that doesn't really translate into English, but from what I've read, it pretty much means an intense longing for home, even if that home never truly existed.

I titled this with the OB because I assume discussion will veer strongly towards events in that book. So, I'm relatively new here, but I'm absolutely loving the culture of polite debate and just the feeling of belonging to a group. That being said, I took the Knights Radiant order quiz in one of the discussion threads below (an amazing quiz and thread, by the way.) I got the order of the Skybreakers, which at first I didn't know a lot about. So of course, I did some research on the Coppermind (also amazing), and just became even more confused with the order in general. The Coppermind (and the books) explain that Skybreakers would rather follow the law rather than what is truly right. As a bit of a philosophy/morality nerd, I'm having a hard time understanding this concept. How could someone look at a situation and decide to follow the law, even if the law is morally wrong? Obviously, I'm having a mild Order of the Knights Radiant Identity crisis. I'm excited to hear any and all opinions!

I got Skybreaker, and I'm a little confused as to why. Would anybody mind explaining the order to me a little more?

Hi Furamirionind! My favorite character is Kaladin, because I see a lot of myself in him. I'm very protective, and I will do anything for the people I love. Also, honor is extremely important to me. And I really admire how Kaladin is written. I love how he seems like a real person, with struggles and inner conflicts that many people go through, rather than just being a two dimensional character. Now, choosing a magic system is a bit harder, but I think I would go with Roshar's system. I love the diversity within the magic system, and I love the concept of spren. I think from my first answer you can tell that I want to be a Windrunner. Like I said, protecting people and honor are some of the concepts from the series that I hold in highest regard. I can just see myself as a Windrunner.

My favorite books are probably the Stormlight Archive, and within that probably the first, the Way of Kings. However, each book is incredible. I've started reading a little bit of the Coppermind and it seems amazing so far.

Hi! I'm not new to the Cosmere, and I've read all of the books multiple times. But I've wanted to learn more and get deeper into symbolism, theories, and pretty much everything people talk about here. Any preliminary things I should know about this forum or the books?
