  1. I'm guessing that since he was always quiet, he'd be more observant and saw himself as seeing more than anyone else, despite the glasses. And so, his eyes healed when he got his Radiant powers (if there's a WOB on this, somebody please feel free to correct me).

  2. Depending on the what is healed part, it depends on how the person sees themselves. Lopen always believed himself to be as capable as someone two handed (or something like that) and so his hand growing back was just how he sees himself. For Kaladin, the reason his scars haven't healed is because he sees them as a part of his identity.

  3. Hiya, welcome to the forum! I too found my way into the Cosmere with The Way of Kings, though my first Brandon book was The Rithmatist, definitely a recommended read! Looking forward to hearing all your theories and thoughts!

    I am making assumptions.

Since we haven’t seen the Shattering In Cosmere, yet...

Rayse, I believe? Is currently holding Odium. The Shards are what they are, unequivocally. Without a transcription of the Shattering, I am going to assume that everyone present was forced to simply take what they were given.

There is a WoB, but I am not very good at finding and linking them... semi-from memory-WoB- The holder of a Shard will eventually take on the Characteristics of the Shard they hold.

Regardless of who initially picked up the Shard, its influence has had plenty more than enough time to insinuate and corrupt his everystuff.

Yes, there are also the epigraphs from Way of Kings which say that Ati was a kind and generous man before taking on the Shard of Ruin, and we all say what became of him in Mistborn. Though I do believe that some of their original personality may be slightly left, which even so, isn't great for Odium as Hoid described Rayse as being one of the most crafty, dangerous and loathsome individuals he had ever met. So Odium, if still with a part of Rayse's personality, will not only be Hatred personified, but will also have a master plan more complex than Ruin's.

Agreed, but with one exception. I don't think Kaladin will become Honor. I think Szeth will. Kaladin was the first to bond an honor spren in his generation, but Szeth is the most honorable man in the world right now. If he makes an oath, he keeps it regardless of the consequences. I'm not sure where it would go from there, but I do think that Szeth would be the "big man in charge" at the end of this story line. ;-)

It would make a lot of sense due to the last book focusing on Szeth, so there is obviously something big planned for him and this might be it.

  6. Hello, welcome to the forum! Don't worry, I too was pretty worried when first joining because it does seem pretty daunting but it's all collaborative and fun so you should definitely have a blast! Also agreed, posting topics first takes priority. Your way is actually smarter than mine, because I posted a topic discussion in my hello post, so kudos to you!

Lift fits nicely as well.  But, I think we will see the culmination of the shard champions storyline with the end of the first 5 books. Do we know if Lift will get her book in the back 5 and which one it will be? I presumed she would be the edgedancer novel.

Well Brandon has confirmed her presence in the back 5 books so she is definitely a strong contender for a book to focus on her.

  8. Perhaps, though I'm not sure about the mechanics of this, I'm guessing that the bonfire might not affect them due to them storing the warmth and hence never really actually feeling warm during the process

Haha, I don't enjoy the mammals as much as the birds. A lot of the mammals we get at the wildlife center are rabies vector, so I can't even work with them unless I have the rabies vaccine. Plus the mammals are messier.

Sealife is super cool though! Have you looked into the Alaska Sealife Center? They do internships there, and the place itself is amazing.

Well given that I live nowhere near the States, I have not looked into it, though I definitely shall do so! Also sounds like you're really doing some exciting stuff! Birds are really awesome. I volunteered at the nearby birds gardens and was definitely a great experience!
