    TVG sighed. Shadow was too intoxicated to be worth listening to now. So instead, the goddess caressed Shadow's mind, hoping she'd ignore the world. If you care about Star, then why don't you encourage Shadow to try instead of condemning her? What if, by shunning her, you force Star to spend eternity trapped in pain?

    TVG growled. She forced him to look at Shadow in the corner. Oh, now look what you've done! Star and I have worked hard to keep her from falling into this state, if you have undone all our work, then I will have no qualms with locking you away for a good while. Star would agree with me. Do not listen to him. He is passionate about Star. I am working to curtail his inexcusable words. If Star were here... I'm so sorry.

    TVG pressed a little harder on his mind, making him cry out. I'd like to see you take a trip inside her mind and see how wrong you are. Star took her Narratorhood in a duel once. But she saw the error of her ways. The only way Star could ever have come back to life is with her. Never forget that.

    Before she could, TVG froze the hatchet in midair, just a centimeter from Butt's neck. Careful. Both of you.

    It's so interesting how these characters have minds of their own. That's why it's so fun to play myself; TVG. TVG grabbed Butt's mind painfully. If you cannot keep your mouth shut, then I will shut it for you. Be kind. Do you not understand that Star cares for Shadow? Maybe even more than she cares about you.

    Star looked away. He more than likely deserved that. Then, she faded away, back to oblivion.

    "Absolutely." You know, I think it's funny. They tried to kill Star for her plot making ability which resulted in waaaaaay more plot than we had before. The Narrator who can only be awoken by true love's kiss. Shadow's stuff. Butt being adorable. Ember's whole deal. And Xino, the Narrator who doesn't believe in the power of words anymore.

    Star smiled faintly and put her hand on Shadow's shoulder. From her pocket, she pulled out an old wooden hand controller. And handed it to Shadow.

    "No," Star said firmly to Shadow. "My master won't let me die despite the agony I'm enduring because she sees something inside of me. And I'm doing the same to you for the same reason. Go ahead. Keep drinking yourself to oblivion, keep hiding yourself away, but I refuse to let you go. Ember called you pathetic. You know why? Because you are. You have fallen into a rut that you are all too capable of climbing out of, but you choose to stay because it's easy and you're afraid. Storm it, Shadow, I know exactly how that feels! When I tried to take over this thread, I was perfectly fine with the possibility of being tortured for the rest of my existence because I thought I deserved it, but I was wrong and so are you. I know that somewhere inside of you exists a powerful strength. You're not using that, you're pretending it doesn't exist and it's a waste. I look at you, Shadow, and I just can't help but be amazed. I care for you deeply. Please don't abandon me. I wouldn't be able to take it if you died and my words weren't enough to stop you."

    Praise the Survivor! Go look at what Star did, she's trying to keep you from hanging yourself.

    Well, she feels loyalty to you, you know. You're like a talisman of her failures and so long as you're alive and well, she's a hero. Don't underestimate her feelings for you, but don't assume you know everything about her either. I won't try and keep things from you; the fact is, you're still a character. She's a Narrator. And remember; just because you failed, does not in any way mean that someone else won't. Besides, you did have an affect, even if you couldn't see it.

    That was adorable. She's unconscious, unfortunately. Star shivered slightly, her cheeks going a bit pale. Some light shone weakly through her eyelids and then... nothing. The burns did not recceed and though the bleeding on her torso was stopped, the change was virtually unnoticeable. Hmm, the goddess remarked. More like true loyalty's kiss. Sorry. Anyone else want to have a go? This is entertaining. Can't you just kiss her? Ember asked mentally and she continued to search for Pheonix. No. That would require me to physically interact with the story which is impossible. I'm not even sure it would work. My devotion to her is not the kind she needs at the moment. Oh, and Mr. Venture? Don't feel bad about your failure. Star is aware of, and grateful for, your presence.
