  1. “Don’t pout. It’s unbecoming.” ”oh, exciting. Someone important?”
  2. “What were you doing with her?” “Stop trying to escape.” Star stabbed at the things mind to punish it. “It’s not worth it.”
  3. “Narrator Star? The separatist?”
  4. “You are far more contemplative than you normally are. Something is bothering you.”
  5. Star raised an eyebrow. How strange. “Well,” she said to Corpse. The other corpse in the room was still. “Let’s go back to the Hall.” When Elgiloy’s master returned, they immediately noticed the man’s expression. “Is something wrong, Your Grace?” @Channelknight Fadran
  6. “That you’re not as evil as you think you are.” She grunted. “You could have killed me and my family for fun.”
  7. “Well, this does prove one thing,” Star said.
  8. I have a reputation already? Good. “I wasn’t aware you paid attention to any other Narrators beside yourself.”
  9. Stop whining, she thought to Corpse. This is the Dark Lord. He's far stronger than I am; you cannot kill him.
  10. "I was not in love with Axe," she said firmly, barely keeping herself from stomping her foot on the ground.
  11. "I would like that. I'm just on my way back to the Hall."
  12. Star smiled, wiping her bloody hands on her skirt. "Yes. You did."
  13. Star folded her arms. "Sit," she commanded the thing. "I'm sorry, Your Darkness. It's... an experiment."
  14. Star reeled back on Corpse's mind. "Stop it! Bad... thing!"
  15. Star's eyes widened and she whipped around, cape flaring. Selil. The dark lord. "What are you-" Corpse lunged. "Corpse!" Star stiffened. "Selil, don't touch it! It's mine."
  16. The black blade pierced the man's sternum, then was removed, leaving scarlet blood to pour down his front. He gasped, then started choking as blood filled his lungs eyes bulging at the sudden influx of pain. "Sta-ar..." he choked out, a look of confusion and terror on his face. "Don't you insult my husband," she said, voice dangerously soft. Perfectly calm, she walked up to him and cut off his too-handsome head. The skull rolled onto the ground, blood gushing out onto Star's hands and arms as the corpse fell over. Almost instinctively, the woman grinned.
  17. Axe noticed the change with disgust, but shrugged it off, clapping twice to bring the trio to a large suite. It was probably in a castle on some faraway world he'd spent his whole life building and ruining over and over again. He sighed and sat on the bed, taking off his shoes. "Star, you have no idea how long I've waited for this. I know that little bug got in our way, but- How long were you with him anyway?" Corpse, kill him, Star commanded. She didn't disguise her glare, plump cheeks hot with anger. "Ten years," she said. "Ten perfect years."
  18. Star had an idea. "Axe? Do you have a place where we can be alone together? Someplace the other Narrators won't care to look?" So no one will find your corpse. He grinned. "I do. What are you insinuating?" She grinned back. "What do you think I'm insinuating?" Axe took her hand. "Come on. I-" "Wait! You must take Corpse with us. My pet." He furrowed his brow. "Why? Afraid it'll get lost?" She nodded, too excited at the prospect of this man's death to come up with a better excuse. "It's new. I don't want it wandering away." You ready, Corpse? "Alright. Whatever you want, I guess."
  19. Axe was among the only Narrators Star had ever met who was interested in any form of romance. She knew from reading his thoughts that he found her incredibly beautiful, and years ago had made it his goal to seduce her. He'd even shown up at her door when she was with Maverick, and Star had had to shoo him away. "I heard about your mortal toy killing himself." He said it so flippantly. "I would say that's a shame, but... I'm just glad it brought you back here..." Axe stared at her, infatuated. And Star fumed. "Nice, uh, pet you've got there," he said glancing at Corpse. "Thank you," Star said tightly.
  20. "Yes, yes. But I'm less suspicious than you are, Corpse. I'll be able to-" "Hey, look who it is!" Star turned around to see Narrator Axe approaching the pair. He walked around shirtless, torso covered with moving tattoos of battle scenes, and was quite handsome, though that was nothing special among their kind. He sat down next to Star, snapping two drinks into existence, evidently choosing to ignore Corpse. We'll kill him soon, Star immediately thought in annoyance. "I haven't seen you in ages!" he said, leaning close to her.
  21. "We'll get to them eventually. I don't care who we kill; the whole species deserves to die."
  22. "Okay. Suit yourself." She stuffed the roll into her own mouth. As she chewed, she wondered who they should kill first. Probably Jay or Shadow, but then, both of them would be hard to lure out of their respective realms.
  23. "As it should be. You are the Dark Lord."
  24. "You're very evil, your Grace," Elgiloy said, hands behind their back. They had just returned from their previous duties. "You should be very proud."
  25. "We're safe," Star insisted. She offered it the roll. "Here, eat."
