  1. These comments caught Raven's ear. How did she know what he'd like? More secrets. But for now, it was time to leave. "Right, then, let's be off." He walked out of the Inn and into the prepared carriage, handing some coins to the coachman.
  2. Raven should probably have been a bit put off by Marie, because of what she'd scrawled, but he only found himself feeling more intrigued. She had Allomantic powers? What were they? Was she powerful? Despite being heathenistic, he had to admit, that one about the Faceless Immortals was clever, more clever than anything the type of person Adilie claimed she was should be able to come up with. And why wear a robe like that? Why shave your head bald? All secrets he hoped to unveil eventually.
  3. "Their 700 boxings, I'm afraid," Raven said, nodding to Marie and Adilie.
  4. "That's fine." Raven took a glance at the damaged wall, reading what she's scrawled there. Well, then. Not a girl of faith, I see.
  5. Nice girl, Raven thought. "Sir?" said the young boy from earlier. "Your carriage is ready." "Ah, thank you. Follow me, please, all of you. I assume Marie will be joining us?"
  6. Raven chuckled. "That's alright."
  7. Perhaps Adilile's fears were not completely unreasonable. Raven was fascinated. "Lovely to meet you, Marie," he said, holding out a hand to shake.
  8. Raven eyed Marie. "This is your sister, Adile?"
  9. The group made their way to the lobby and Raven went to the stables, paying a young man to hitch up some horses to a carriage. A few minutes passed as they waited.
  10. "I guess we can be off then!" Raven stood and began to lead the way out the door. "My Lord, do you need me to come with you?" asked Jhador. "There's no need, Jhador, thank you."
  11. Raven smiled. "I'm all for weirdness." Especially if there's power to be found there.
  12. Raven raised an eyebrow. Very interesting. "Hmm. Who is this someone? I'm sure I could figure something out for you both to be of use."
  13. Raven grinned, folding his arms in satisfaction. Yes, this boded well for him. "Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Now, I'm assuming you'll want a look at the land itself eventually. We can go there now - I'd be willing to pay for a ride for all of us - or we could do it later."
  14. "That's wonderful." "Well, which one would you prefer? I need an overseer. I need fighters too, but that seems like more of a job for mercenaries. After all, I doubt attacks would happen often enough to require a team for protection there are all times. We just need someone on call. It might, however, be beneficial to have someone in charge of a team of people who can protect when needed. Just to make things efficient."
  15. "Well, it really depends. I'm just one man, I can't run the whole operation myself. I have miners already, what I really need are people to watch over the thing." "Would you be interested in being a secretary, miss?"
  16. "Oh, you know... Leadership skills, organization... Allomancy. Feruchemy. You get the picture."
  17. Raven chuckled. "Indeed. I was quite fortunate to have gotten it before anyone else. It's been a little slow in coming to get a return on the money I've put into it, but now that it's up and running, I look forward to things getting rather lucrative."
  18. "Very well. As I mentioned earlier to Eryn, the aluminum mine is an important investment. If there's any skills you have to offer to help it along, I'd be happy to hear about it. I promise I'd pay you well; after all, aluminum is going for quite a bit these days."
  19. "Ah, welcome. I'm assuming your friend here is interested in my mine as well?"
  20. Jhardor opened the door and smiled. "Oh, yes, he said he was expecting you. Please, sit." Raven sat in the living room, a plate of tea and cookies sitting on the coffee table. He cocked his head. "And who might you be? I was expecting Eryn.
