I don't think it's that irrational.
There are some arguments, that can be made, that he outlived his usefulness.
I guess the irrational part is mostly that it'll be sudden and with no explanation (like just killing him randomly in a highstorm like he was supposed to die in the early drafts of WoK), which I know won't happen since I trust his death will have some kind of meaning in another character's arc (probably all the main ones). From what I've read from WoBs and theories, I personally believe there will be 50/50 chance of him living through book 5.

At first I thought I didn't have any disappointments worth mentioning, but then I remembered that I actually started a thread about the lack of screentime on Adolin and Shallan's wedding soooo I guess that counts:'D

I don't want to see a redemption arc for Moash either since I think he's a good antagonist. Though I can't help but think he would make an acceptable casualty for Kaladin's Fourth Ideal (if we go with the assumption he needs to admit and accept that he can't save everyone).
No more love-triangles either, I was so happy the one we had got solved in Oathbringer. Sure there could and should be bumps in the relationships but let's not go back to something that has been solved.
Also, I don't want to see a random female character becoming Kaladin's love interest. If he finds his love eventually I want it to be a character we know before they get together, like we did with Shallan and Adolin (Dalinar and Navani were a special case since they knew each other from the past and Dalinar was very against the idea of him courting her). I don't mean it has to be a character that has been introduced to us already in books 1-3, but I do want to learn to know the character at least few chapters before Kaladin falls head over heels for them...
I also agree with the solo missions, I love the character interactions and would hate to see them going on their own ways or spend the whole book in the same little groups.
I would also hate to not see Zahel/Vasher's reaction when Szeth brings Nightblood near him. The one year skip kinda makes me fear we'll miss that kind of small but important events.
And I don't want Adolin to get killed yet. I have this irrational fear of Adolin getting killed off suddenly like some characters have in the past (outside Stormlight Archive).

That WoB was from 2016, a whole year before OB was even released.
I put the year of the WoB in the link text exactly for this point, it's relatively fresh WoB and in the middle of 2016 the outline for Oathbringer (and Adolin's part in it) was already done (Just a few days after that WoB Brandon said he had finished writing part two of Oathbringer). I don't think he would've done drastic changes after that so I believe his stand on what he said there still holds.
But, as you said, to each their own. There are many people supporting both sides of this topic.

Considering what they're up against, they'll need all the Radiants they can find, and as one of the best fighters around, it makes sense for Adolin to be a Radiant too. We can always get more non-Radiant POV's.
I agree that they need all the Radiants they can find but I don't think that would be a good enough argument for Adolin to become one even though he's a good duelist. I don't think his ability to fight matters in reviving Maya and other spren don't try to bond with him due to Maya being dead. Maya also has a bond with Adolin, not a Nahal bond but Shardblade must be bonded with to be able to summon and dismiss it. Also, not everyone in previous Desolations became a Radiant, there were lots of regular soldiers too I believe.
In a WoB from 2016 Brandon says "I need Adolin because Adolin is the guy who is not gaining all the magical powers and flying in the air and stuff. I need the guy who is more normal. As normal as the prince of Alethkar can be. I needed him and I really liked where he went after doing that, so." And since Brandon also keeps Adolin's future strictly a RAFO I believe there is a third option for him. What if Adolin's bond with Maya evolves into something that lets him summon Maya instantly but not become a Radiant? Maybe Maya becomes partly conscious? Spren are not human so maybe they can be "kinda dead"? Okay that's just me not knowing where this is going anymore buuuuuuut yeah. xD I mean, it's Brandon, I'm 95% sure he'll surprise us. Again.

There was a big back and forth about nonplussed awhile back. Brandon meant in the book for it to mean unperturbed, not surprised. So it is actually the opposite of her being shocked.
Ah that changes it then... I had to look up the word while reading since English is not my first language and thought it was the first translation I found for it, not the second. Thanks for clearing it up!

I like OP's theory and if I remember correctly Jasnah's expression was "nonplussed" when Adolin saw her after with "a fading glow and geometric shapes outlining her". One could think that it was her first time using the Shardplate she acquired after swearing the 4th Ideal and being surprised how it worked (since the Plates before had been those taken from past Radiants and powered by infused gemstones).
The plural form Brandon used when talking about on screen Radiants with Plate was probably referring to the visions Dalinar saw? The first one in TWOK had two Radiants dropping from the sky in full armor, the same vision is seen second time in Oathbringer when Dalinar requests it (this time he's playing the part of one of the Radiants).

I'm three weeks away from turning 28 and picked up Mistborn last summer, then read everything else cosmere related during the next half a year. Best thing apart from the actual stories is that these books have got me back into drawing as well:D

When I think of Adolin and Edgedancers, I always think about when Kaladin was sneaking through the camps and saw Adolin stand up to Sadeas' men to protect the prostitute. To me, that was a great example of 'remembering those who are forgotten.'
This and also the fight in Thaylen city where Adolin leaves the thunderclast to Renarin and other Radiants and goes to save a small kid (who's being forgotten in the mids of all fighting).
That said, I don't want Adolin to become a Radiant since I really like his character being the "regular" guy reminding us that being a Radiant is not the norm. I'm a bit afraid of "power creep" happening in the books (I do trust Brandon to write well and avoid the neverending power ups) and having Adolin as a non-Radiant main character who still fights alongside the Radiants would keep the sense of danger there. Especially when he can't heal himself like Radiants can. Of course, there is sense of danger whenever Stormlight runs low or out completely. But still, I do wish to see Adolin struggle a bit more with his "I used to be an important person but now I seem very insignificant compared to the Radiants, am I good enough?"
I do hope he revives Maya and something interesting and unexpected would happen. I thought that maybe Adolin would somehow revive her without forming a bond and then would tell her "you're free to do whatever you want" but then I remembered that WoB about Maya probably bonding with Adolin if she was alive so... Yeah. I just hope he won't get killed in the process.

Huh, cool. Now we can have the ”who is the most skilled Mistborn, Hoid or Kelsier” debate.
My vote goes to Kelsier by the way. I will always vote Kelsier, no matter the question.
One of my not-so-secret wishes is for a rematch between Hoid and Kelsier where Kelsier would have his powers back (and more). And I would also vote for Kelsier. Always. *highfive*

This is really cool!
I think I might have a slight problem too since two nights ago I saw a dream where the progress bar had gone up to 2% which made me so happy in the dreamxD When I woke up and remembered the dream I actually laughed out loud at how happy I had been in the dream for such a silly little thing...

Wax and Wayne has only one book left to go (I wish there were be more;_; But he needs to move on to Era 3 eventually so no can do, and 4 books were already 3 more than he intended to haha).
I wouldn't be completely against another author writing in the cosmere as long as it would be someone Brandon trusts 100%. I like the idea of Isaac Stewart writing in the cosmere like @Argent mentioned.
Let's not forget though that Brandon does already have assistants helping him out with all the work outside straight out writing, his assistants are doing a lot of work with math (like calculating the currency of spheres in SA) and dates (Rosharan calendar is cool but lots of work too) etc.

I just love the idea of Kelsier trying to come up with different ways of sneaking up and surprising Mare who was a Tineye (and Kell was not a Mistborn yet). I'm thinking about drawing this scene with the actual characters once I feel more confident about getting back into drawing.

Sooo since the small note I made on my latest Brandon meme post sparked an interesting conversation about wedding ceremonies and how they go wrong so often in the cosmere books I thought starting its own thread would be appropriate.
So far I think only Raoden and Sarene's final wedding in Elantris has been the only wedding ceremony we've seen "on screen" without getting interrupted or shortened to "we have this person here to witness us saying yes". At first I thought it funny how something always happened to interrupt the ceremony (and even though I felt bad for Sarene in the beginning of the book I did chuckle at the fact we skipped her wedding because her husband had "died"). After getting invested to the characters, especially Adolin and Shallan, through multiple books and see their relationship develop and build up little by little I do wish to see a proper wedding ceremony where the characters can have one day of happiness together without fights or embarrasment...
@Elandera brought up a good point (in the meme thread) about wedding ceremonies being boring to read if they follow the same formula we see in real life and thus they are skipped to save pages for more important and interesting events in the books. Personally I would still consider the wedding ceremonies interesting content since they are happening in a different culture and the inner thoughts of characters we are used to seeing in trouble or battles are interesting to read in this kind of life changing situation. I liked the description of a Survivorist wedding ceremony. And of course, the other characters' reactions and interactions with the couple would be fun to read about.
Of course, I don't think making the wedding ceremony short is always bad, I really liked how Dalinar and Navani did it in their circumstances. But I guess I'm just still salty about Adolin and Shallan's wedding getting cut off right when it was getting good:'D I know Oathbringer was already a mammoth-of-a-book but still;_; (I was going to write "to fit it in we can throw away--" but couldn't find anything to end the sentence with since I love the whole book>_>)
Anyway, what do you think? Will we ever see a proper on screen wedding ceremony with detailed descriptions and that won't go wrong or otherwise get interrupted in the cosmere again:D? Or maybe we could get a wedding ceremony on screen and the after party would get absolutely destroyed?
(Also sorry for any typos, I'll fix stuff later if needed, I'm writing this in a hurry>_>)

It can be—everyone has either seen a wedding on TV or been invited to one, and so we all know how they're supposed to go. A wedding ceremony that goes completely right can be fun and engaging if there are some unexpected elements thrown in—be it humor we didn't see coming, a break with tradition, or simply a twist.
That's the thing though, I would've loved to read Shallan and Adolin's wedding because it would've been possibly something different from what I've already witnessed in real life. I really love Roshar and its different cultures, not to mention its characters and their interactions. And I enojyed reading the beginning of Wax and Steris' wedding before it went wrong because I love the characters and would've loved to read about a wedding where everything went well.
I should've probably started a new thread for this discussion since this is a meme thread, sorry>_> I just didn't think that little note would've sparked interest in discussing the topic in more detail. I'll make the thread later today in the cosmere section unless someone beats me to it.

Some more (low effort) memes in the cosmere. I have too much time in my hands.
I finished reading Elantris today:
Spoiler
Couple of memes from Roshar since I intend on diving back there soon:
Spoiler

And couple from Mistborn Era 2 since I just love Wax and Steris:
SpoilerWax carrying Steris to a guest room to rest after she downed the vial of syrup of ipecac and saltroot at ZoBell's ball:

I felt so bad when Steris' wedding day got ruined by Wayne but then I read Elantris and felt even worse for Sarene:

I wonder if Brandon has something against writing wedding ceremonies that don't get ruined? The weddings that go through without too much hassle are skipped instead of fully written out (like Adolin and Shallan's) or the characters get married without an actual proper ceremony (Vin and Elend, Wax and Steris' second attempt).

Kelsier's death hit me like a truck... It was my first Sanderson book and I knew nothing about it before hand. I fell in love with the characters and snuggled cozily in the bubble of "main characters can't die yet since this is a trilogy". Boy was a wrong.
The other big "oh please no, no!" moment for me was when
SpoilerWayne was crying when Wax died. I also loved that scene a lot.
My heart also broke a little when I read Kaladin's first squad in The Way of Kings getting murdered. When I was reading Words of Radiance I was so afraid of Dalinar dying. I was constantly readying myself for that and when Szeth sent him up flying I thought "nooooo not Dalinar;_;" and when Kaladin saved him I think I laughed out loud in relief.

Kaladin held back a smile as Adolin held up the jacket. Skar and Drehy had gleefully been sent to scour the market for the most absurd looking piece of "fashion" they could find. They had not disappointed. It was a ridiculous bit, ruffs and fluffs in the strangest places with buttons that defied logic. The colors were....an interesting choice as well.
"In case you need a spare outfit for the next trip Shadesmar," Kaladin said.
Adolin gave a whistle. "This is incredible, bridge boy."
"We thought so too," he said back with a smile.
"Did you look through my folios? I mean, you got all the details. It's even incorporating the new half flip style out of Thaylenah."
Kaladin's smiled slipped. "What?"
Adolin was turning the jacket back to front. He wasn't....actually admiring the storming thing was he?
I want this to be canon so bad right nowxD! Just perfect.

Me after finishing Oathbringer:

I was going to go with joke songs but then couldn't come up with anything yet so I'll put two serious ones:
SpoilerI imagine the Knight Radiants leading the armies (or Kalading personally leading the Bridge Four) into fight against the Fused on a battle field while listening to this song
SpoilerThis one is what I listened to while reading Mistborn, I think it fits Kelsies pretty nicely since he wants (and manages) to be remembered for centuries. And one mistake would've ruined it all.
Okay I have one joke one too (which is a bit too easy):
SpoilerEverytime Lopen does something (like Lashing himself to the ground or teaching Rua "manners") I think I can hear the Benny Hill theme quietly playing on the background

I wonder if Shallan will create another version of herself to act as the perfect or "perfect" wife... Okay most likely not since she already spends time with Adolin in each of her current versions. But it would be funny. Though I am interested in seeing how their marriage works out and how it'll evolve their relationship.
10 hours ago, goody153 said:Marsh(inquisitor-form under Harmony's reign) would probably try to give a reasonable wholesome wedding gift. Yaknow normal stuff but fails on giving it cause everybody freaks out seeing a huge person who can glide midair and have railroad spikes in place of his eyes.
Ham would send a wedding card with a philosophical thought inside. Shallan would be psyched , adolin would ask where the actual gift is.
Stormfather would most likely just threaten them not to break oaths. That's it no gifts if they insist on giving a gift he might just send a highstorm. He'd consider that a gift
Aona(if alive) would revel on their marriage and devotion so she probably things for their betterment. Skaze(if alive) would probably just send bdsm tools with notes of instructions.
Sadeas would send a cake baked with poison.
Tensoon would send a letter saying "no I will not attend your wedding" and MeLaan would decline politely but would already be in the wedding without them knowing anyways.
These are perfectxD! Poor Marsh... I bet Kelsier set him up, promising he would come with him so people wouldn't be so scared of his appearance and then Kel ditches him and goes rummaging around the palace. And I can totally see Stormfather sending a highstorm and calling it a gift. Kaladin would consider it a gift though.
MeLaan... damnation I wish she could be in Roshar causing trouble.

Haha Shallan would probably draw her own version of that book!

After finishing Oathbringer and being really disappointed we didn't get to see the actual wedding;_; I was wondering what Kaladin and Bridge Four would give Adolin as a wedding gift. Definitely not a sword like everyone else did since that would be too "normal". Adolin would deserve something similar as Shallan with those boots.
First I thought about posting this on the Stormlight Archive section and list what other characters would've given them, but then I thought it would be funnier to include all Cosmere characters.
So, what do you think other characters would've given Shallan and Adolin for their wedding gift? I'll start with few and probably write down some more at work today since it'll be a slow day anyway.
Ruin (and probably Harmony too now that I think about it) would give an earring for each.
Wit would give a lengthy insult in a form of a musical.
Wayne would trade a half eaten
rollkebabchouta to a sketch from Shallan's sketchpad.Jasnah would give a lecture for both about how to be in a proper relationship since single people usually give the best relationship advice anyway.
Vin would give Adolin a chance to duel a Mistborn.
Sazed (not yet Harmony) would give a presentation of few religions out of his copperminds to offer a replacement for dead Almighty.
Pattern would happily buzz the permission to mate.
Kelsier... would probably just rob them and give nothing except a smile when leaving the party with his loot.
