  1. Granted, but you can only speak the truth for the rest of your life. I wish for infinite beef jerky.
  2. I think I'm in the camp that believes that Dalinar is reforging Honor. I don't see what else he could have ascended to since the shard of Honor is the only one that he would both have connection to and would be readily available to take up.
  3. I don't think they get along. We know Ati was a pretty nice guy pre-ascension. We don't know too much about Bavadin, but I definitely don't get the vibe that she was very nice. Kiin and Vstim
  4. Lol, that makes a lot more sense, but I am a little disappointed that this wasn't some spicy new theory that I hadn't heard yet
  5. @Calderis I'm tracking with you on Cultivation directly intervening with Dalinar and Taravangian, but how do you figure Odium into that?
  6. I think we just fundamentally disagree on what Honor's power does and the mechanics that bind shards to agreements. Also, it's not clear what exactly got Odium stuck in the first place. There's no real evidence that we can point to that says it was Honor's power that binds him or not. We just know that Honor was somehow involved with Odium getting trapped in the Rosharan system.
  7. I feel like if that were the case, it would sometimes take less than ten heartbeats. Otherwise it would have to start on the wrong spren type every time and save the right one for last. My theory is just that the dead spren needs to be intentionally connected to something living in order to be summoned. The summoner's heart is beating all the time, but they only summon the blade when they focus on it. The fact that it takes ten is just a Roshar thing.
  8. I've wondered the same thing, but I personally think that it has more to do with the personality of the vessel than mental ability/capacity. In that second quote that you posted, Brandon mentioned the reason Sazed experiences less push back has to do with how well the intents match his personality and how he views them. Sazed might not be the best example though because of how little time he has been a vessel.
  9. I think you're making a lot of assumptions here. When read in context, that quote seems to be saying that bonds are something that Honor and those who use Honor's magic would use to interact with the world, not Honor is somehow in charge of every sort of bond that is made in the Cosmere.
  10. Red means that investiture has been co-opted. FirstSelector [PENDING REVIEW] Does red in cosmere signify one Shard co-opting or corrupting another Shard's magic? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] Yes. source
  11. Do you mind elaborating a bit? It seems like if this was the case, it would be relevant to your point. If I understand correctly, the Heralds were also part of the Oathpact, and because of Taln, that hasn't been completely dismantled as of yet.
  12. @Sorana I almost put Shai on that list. Brandon just writes so many good characters! Honestly, I'm not much of a role player though. @Wyndlerunner Definitely pie
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Kaladin had any stormlight during the lighthouse scene in Oathbringer, but the lighthouse keeper still said he was invested.
  14. Assuming the bondsmith is able to bind his soul to the metal man, doesn't the fact that the bondsmith is invested make it incredibly difficult to awaken it? If I were the bondsmith, I would try it on someone else's soul first...
  15. Oooh, that's a tough one. Probably Shallan, but I also really like Dalinar. Sazed is a favorite of mine too.
  16. Thanks for the welcomes! Favorite magic? I'm torn between Awakening, Surgebinding, and Allomancy. They're pretty much all great! I'm definitely a vanilla person. And I would love some cookies
  17. Hello all! I've been lurking for a long time, so I figured it was time to sign up!
