  1. @kenod @bees? @Coda The group arrives at a massive tower. A hundred and twenty floors, 9,000 square foot base. Made of black marble with red veins throughout it, with reflective windows. Along every floor barrier there were small quartz bats, and with the top twenty floors a massive design of a bat, with large supported wings and a giant head. Bats roosted along the building, and when you looked into the lobby you see several dozen men wearing full black suits with a symbol of a pat crested on the suits beneath the right collar bone. They are obviously packing. Barbators turns to his fellow gods and says, "Do you like it? I've been having this built over over a hundred years. It's the headquarters for our war against the complex. An old friend of mine is camped out on the hundred and sixteenth floor." Barbados walked into the lobby and all of them men gave a brief bow. He walked into the elevator and waited for the other three gods to join him.
  2. Ulix stood and said, “While I will not state my views of what Barbados is saying, I can affirm the truth of his statements of the complex. The woman he was courting was a goddess of nature, the madam of the pack. The wolf who started the Roman Empire. He was unaware of this of course, but she was powerful. The other god who he found was your colleague Baalhan, Ares. It seems that mortals finally caught up to him. The third god that got killed was the most powerful god that ever existed. Chaos, the lord of creation. The one who made the world. He could only be killed by a mortal, and he was. It is my belief that without gods the world will simply... fail. The five gods that were captured were Zephyr, yes they managed to cage the air, Helios, Jesus, Rah, who finally managed to escape Aphophis, you know, after they captured him as well. So, now that you have all the facts, make an educated decision,” Before becoming most and leaving himself.
  3. Barbados barely avoided a snort. Did he seriously just compare him to a series of tyrannical god kings? That was almost a complement. The thing they forgot was that those old fools had an easy weakness. Odin? He could only be harmed in his own pursuit of knowledge. He was tricked into trying to figure out where gods go when they die. Cronus? Well, he never actually figured out what their weakness was, but they didn’t have a godly healing factor, so he’s still in a million or so pieces. Jupiter? He could only die when the Roman Empire fell. Everyone thought that meant he was eternal. Guess not. Gilgamesh wasn’t even a true god! Zeus? He could only be killed by one who shares his wedding ring. His wife got fed up and killed him. The eternal pattern, the more powerful the god, the simpler the weakness. He figured that he followed that pattern, but he lacked their arrogance. He made sure that everyone feared him, and no god could kill him. Maybe on day his pantheon would fall, but it would be dang near impossible for someone to kill him, but he recognized that it was possible. So, he planned. @ZincAboutIt
  4. Barbados kept walking, nodded to Mizuiki, as he had already said his mind. If these people had actually listened to him, they would have heard something along the lines of ‘we are all equals here,’ and ‘we will not push others to the side,’ which should give the effect that if they developed a leader, it wouldn’t necessarily be him. If anyone wanted to come with him, @Coda, they needed to do it now.
  5. "My time is wasted here. All who would join me, follow," Barbados said, turning around and stalking away. This was expected. When they start to die without him, they will flock to his banner.
  6. "And Sij, why would I do that? Yes, you are powerful, but your beliefs make you a liability. Quite simply, I do not care if you join or not. You may leave."
  7. "None of you have to join, you may leave at any time you wish. I am asking for you to join because throughout history, Pantheons have been strong. The Complex is stronger than any mortal organization we have ever encountered. I know to many of you view me as young, many of you dislike me. One of you asked me why now. Simple answer, I, and my worshippers, measure the passing years on the day I became a god. That is today. This same day last year, a young goddess I was courting was captured by the God Complex. I thought she was just coming and going. She did that. A month later my worshippers found her body. During this month, a dozen temples had been destroyed, and blood ran in the streets. Not from my war, that came later. I assumed another god had killed her. I searched for another month before I found the truth. In this time another god's body had been found, and two dozen temples had been destroyed. I then began my own war. Over the last ten months, something happened that had never happened before. I am losing. I reached out for help. I believe that we can destroy them. All you agree with me, please rise now," Barbados said, standing up.
  8. "Oh, don't worry. London is my territory to the smelly alleys. My bats are already swarming, and my followers follow."
  9. "Thank you Phantom. John, glad you could make it. Before any of you ask, I make it a mission to keep track of any long standing gods in the world. I invited all the gods, those that didn't come... didn't. I am seeking to form a pantheon to combat our mutual enemy in the God Complex, where we are all equal, and I asked who would join me."
  10. "Do not sell yourself short Phantom. You are not as weak as yous say. We would be equals, serving with each other. I can provide resources, manpower, and everything else we could possibly need to fight the complex. We would be the first great pantheon since the greeks of old, and we would not collapse as they did, for we learn from their mistakes. We will not force the lesser gods to go nameless into the night, they would have equal seat as the rest of us, and together, the ignorant mortals of the world will worship us mindlessly, the intelligent ones will seek pacts with us, and the arrogant ones will die beneath our feet. Who shall join me in this?"
  11. “No need to bow madam, we are equals here,” Barbados said, then jokingly added, “Except for Ulix, he is morally superior to all of us. “Baalhan, Caebadar, I seek to build the strongest alliance gods can build. A pantheon. And I want all of you to join it. Ulix, I know you are about to say that it does it fall under your morals, you were invited as a courtesy.”
  12. “You’re new at this aren’t you? My apologies, I assumed that everyone who managed to find their way here understood the rules already. We are all gods here, I am Barbados god of Death, Fear, and Bats. There are many domains represented here. For example, Ulix there is the god of peace, shifting, and his own personal afterlife. We are immortal, to a point. Every god here has a weakness, from simple to complex. The god complex makes it a mission to discover and exploit those for all the gods. Mine is common knowledge, I can only be killed by a mortal who does not worship or fear me. Therefore I have nothing to fear at this table, or from the God Complex, as their organization is built on fear of us. They are an international, convoluted organization bent on controlling godhood. Mortal free will and all that garbage. Gods develop for any number of reasons, I was worshipped a lot, some people here were there at the beginning, others just appeared. I assume from your confusion that you just became a god, and from your demeanor you were not worshipped. So, I welcome you to the ranks of godhood.”
  13. Ulix replied with, “Because I was invited by Barbados, and arrived just now.” Barbados smiled and said in his Victorian accent, “I have called you here to discuss our mutual problem. The God Complex. They have become much more brazen over the last year, and are now in open war with my worshipers. It has become quite hard to expand my reach when they pin suspicious individuals to the ground and search for their mark. They have captured three gods that I know of, and managed to kill two. Before this year, the taking of this place was the most direct action they had ever taken. They are stepping up and need to be dealt with. ”To your questions about my methods... these soldiers serve the god complex. They attacked me first. Therefore, they got what they deserved.”
  14. Barbados stood in an underground gladiatorial arena. He had it built a hundred years ago, but the God Complex took it over a decade before. The bodies of those who took it littered he arena. He had moved a massive table to the center of the arena, and waited for the other gods to arrive. Ulix drifted in and formed on the opposite end of the table from Barbados, also waiting. He said, "Not that these God Complex operatives did not deserve justice, but could you not have cleared this are in a less... lethal... way? Many of the gods who might come share my disdain of your methods, but do not share my equal disdain for violence." Barbados looked at him and asked in a Victorian accent, "I am a god of death. Did you seriously just ask if I could get rid of a massive room full of god complex soldiers without killing them?" "Your point is made."
  15. Is your cover photo supposed to be a Rick Roll, or do you just like it?
