  1. "The Knights of Blood are gathered at the Canton," Azrael said, leaning over the holo-map. "Arm yourself for rapid assault. Rally the bases we have in the city, establish communications and perimeters. Then go in and slaughter every living thing around that building." His gauntlets clenched imperceptibly. "PlasmaCore seems to think they've claimed the city. Dissuade them of that notion." @Nohadon
  2. Light flared around Silphio, and he disappeared. -------------- The teleportation circle next to Zakora and Lusk flashed white, and Silphio materialized from golden light. “Follow me,” the Space Marine said, turning around and stomping towards the door. -------------- Despite the chaos caused by the explosion of psychic energy, the Invincible Reason was still in the hands of the Dark Angels. Azrael looked over a holo-pict of the Alleycity with his council. PlasmaCore was marked red in the center, like a bleeding wound in the heart of the city. Black Crusade bases were strung around it in a loose circle of Imperial blue. The areas controlled by the DA were unreadable, static-filled holes, with the biggest one representing the Worldspike. The quality of the holo got worse every second, thanks to the daemonic mist shrouding the city. The door to the bridge opened, a Deathwing marine walking in with the Ghostblood representatives and, blessedly, Silphio. Azrael nodded to Lusk, then Silphio. “Assassins. Chapter Master.” @Nohadon @Sorana @I think I am here.
  3. "The power of the Warp is behind this," the marine said, turning around and walking towards the door. "We know that much. Something happened, and now half of our Librarius is dead. The others..." its distorted voice trailed off. "PlasmaCore is behind the psychic anomalies, we think. Azrael will personally brief you on the bridge." @Sorana @I think I am here.
  4. Wisps of light gathered around Zokora. She vanished in a single flash-- A circle of pentagramic symbols formed on the ground around Lusk. Before the acolytes could do anything, the symbols burst, instantly vaporizing the elderly assassin and sending his remains streaming towards the battleship-- And both rematerialized into chaos. A Space Marine in bone-white armor stumbled past them, grappling with a fiery monster twice its size. It threw off the humanoid and lunged, slamming an over-sized fist into the fiend's chest. The fiend flew into the air, disintegrating with a scream of rage. The Space Marine turned to Zokora and Lusk and saluted. Something exploded behind it, highlighting the massive bulk of the terminator with its light. "Welcome to the Invincible Reason, honored assassins," it said. "Watch out for bloodletters on your way to the bridge. They'll rip you limb from limb if you're not careful." @Sorana @I think I am here.
  5. The door to Azrael’s lift was just closing when an arm blocked the doors. A space marine, wearing azure plate and sporting an augmetic eye, stepped through. “Apologies,” said Chief Librarian Ezekiel. “It’s good to see you alive, Grand Master.” Azrael snorted. “You wound me. Crow was pitifully easy to catch. I didn’t even have to call in the Deathwing.” “A shame foresight is less accurate in this realm,” Ezekiel said, settling in as the doors closed. The elevator shifted, beginning its journey downwards. “And what about Errant?” he continued. “Do we still have him on a leash?” Azrael sighed. “I’m not sure. He went off on his own during the confrontation, somehow managed to find Crow, and teleported her outside. His madness is getting worse, along with his psychic strength. He thought Crow was Horus, Ezekiel. The Traitor himself.” He shook his head. “He still obeys orders, fortunately. That hasn’t changed.” “The Librarius will renew our studies of his mind,” Ezekiel said. He coughed, covering up his mouth. “I’m beginning to think his curse is similar to what the Blood Angels’ warriors in black suffer. Silphio-“ “Doesn’t know about the Rage. And our cousin Nassir would like to keep it that way.” “Bah,” Ezekiel said, another coughing fit interrupting him. “What about these children we’ve adopted? Why they still here, now that we have Crow?” Because they show promise, Azrael thought. They are potential, my brother. A new future for the First Legion. But he doesn’t say that aloud. Instead, he says, “Because the girl is still recovering, brother. Honor demands we protect them. As soon as it is safe for her to leave, we’ll be rid of them.” “Good riddance,” Ezekiel rasped. “I-” He cut off, coughing again. It didn’t stop this time. “Brother?” Ezekiel doubled over, stumbling towards the wall. Azrael grabbed him, slipping under his shoulder and keeping his brother from falling. “Ezekiel!” His brother’s head snapped around and screamed. He pushed Azrael away and screamed, clutching his head with both hands, and fell to his knees, screaming up until the moment when his eye burned with blue light and exploded outward in a shower of blood and ectoplasm. Ezekiel went limp, falling backwards. He crashed against the floor, ceramite cracking against steel. The elevator pinged cheerfully as the doors opened.
  6. "Crow has been captured," Azrael said quietly. He was surrounded by his brothers and sisters on all sides, and this was another secret they didn't need to know. "She's on the ship, actually. I'm bringing some extra security, just in case." That "extra security" was Valor squad, en route to the Invincible Reason with the rest of the Acutes. Though Azrael still had trouble comprehending mortal feelings, he knew that having his brothers and sisters by his side was a source of great strength. Hopefully, it would be the same for Light. @Silva
  7. Azrael stopped, letting his sword drop to his side. He looked down at the unconscious form of Crow. That had been… easy. Too easy. He stepped off the teleportarium pads. Two of the Deathwing champions hurried behind him, securing Crow and dragging her off to the Interrogator-Chaplain's cells. Honerva would drag a confession from the heretic eventually, and then the real work would start. Crow had commanded a sizable warband, and they were still at large. The Dark Angels would be here for months, raiding safehouses, tracking down Crow's allies, and finally purging the Den of Thieves. It would be bloody, dark work. It always was. Azrael found himself opening a vox-channel to the medicae. "Notify Light Acute that I'm heading to you," he said. "I would like to speak to her, in person." @Silva @Ark1002
  8. The three space marines, including Crow, disappeared in a flare of light. --------------- Teleportation was far more reliable in this realm, without the influence of daemons and a hostile Warp. But travelling through the Sea of Souls was no easy task, especially if one had never done it before. Azrael was counting on that. Reality reestablished its dominance, the teleportarium of the Invincible Reason coming into focus. Dozens of Deathwing terminators stood around the teleportation pads, weapons readied, but they couldn't fire without damaging the priceless archotech that powered the teleporters. And Errant couldn't call upon his powers without doing the same. Crow would only be disoriented for a few more moments, and an extended fight could cause irreparable damage. So Azrael did what he did best. He took the Sword of the Lion, grabbed it by the blade, and swung it into Crow's unarmored head, crossguard first. @Ark1002
  9. "So be it," Azrael snarled. "But this city's blood is on your hands, not-" A rift tore open in reality beside Azrael, and a body flew through the tear. Crow hit the ground behind Sebrial as Errant stepped through the rift, which was rapidly closing behind him. Investiture streamed from his armor in rivers of light, his helm lenses burning. Sebrial couldn't see Azrael's face. If he could have, he wouldn't have seen a smile. Azrael never smiled. But he would have seen Azrael's face grow harder, more fierce and savage. "Sebrial," he said, falling into a combat stance, "our business is finished here. Pray we never meet again." @Ark1002
  10. The other radio in Erlend's office- the one built into what looked like a golden skull- crackled to life. "There's a heretic spouting off about 'Jaddeth' in the main hall," the radio said, heavily distorted by static. "Permission to put a bolt round into his head?" @Blessing of Potency
  11. "COMMAND RECOGNIZED," the skull said, ceasing its battering of the inter-guild man. "RETURNING TO PATROL MODE." It floated away, wobbling in the air.
  12. "COMMAND NOT RECOGNIZED," the skull blared. "WHAT IS 'CHILL'. WARNING. WARNING." @Sherlock Holmes
  13. A skull floated down and bumped into the man's head, its tiny gravatic motors straining. "IDENTIFICATION NOT RECOGNIZED," it warbled. "WARNING. WARNING. WARNING." @I think I am here. @Sorana
  14. Azrael's grip on his sword tightened. "I will ask one more time," he said. "You will answer truthfully, or I will bombard this city until naught but ash is left. Where. Is. Crow?" ----------------------- "Heard what you did to those kids, Horus," said a voice behind Crow. A space marine in steel-grey armor faded into existence in front of her, a halberd in his left hand. His armor burned with psychic energy, nearly blinding in its brightness. "Not the worst thing you've done," he continued, seemingly unaware of the alarms going off around him as the security system struggled to respond to his presence. "But it's just another reason to kill you, brother. May the galaxy know peace after your death, traitor." He slammed his fist into Crow's chest, and the world went white. @Ark1002
  15. Azrael snorted quietly. "Don't play the fool," he said. "We both know your security is above average quality. Excellent, even. Which means-" he tapped something on his wrist, and a hologram of Crow walking into the building appeared in the air- "that this couldn't have happened without your permission." @Ark1002
  16. "Consorting with the known terrorist and chaos space marine, Crow Blackice," Azrael said. "Last I knew of, that was called 'treason', and I doubt things have changed." @Ark1002
