Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Indigo Weasel replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"I have to agree with Adolin. Navani, your idea isn't bad, but it'd be very difficult to hit the unmade with that ram. Thunderclasts more often died from a dozen cuts than a single strike to the head, and looking for the perfects strike resulted in more radiant deaths than wearing the monsters down."- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Indigo Weasel replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ivory straightened his coat. Being forced into his blade form had been unpleasant and unexpected, but he didn't begrudge Jasnah the act, as it had been necessary as well. Now that he was back into his normal form, he had a couple of things to say though. He shot a glare in the Direction of Darkness. "You know full well that it wasn't the appearance of the radiant that ushered in the desolation. Desolations don't start when humans found strength. They start when humans found weakness. They started when you became weak. If you want to delay the upcoming desolation, if you want to bring justice to those you've lied to and abandoned, then I suggest you turn that blade of yours upon yourself and give Taln what support your craven heart can give him in these final years." "And what about you, Jezrien (@SE_Drunk_Beggar)? Will you stand aside as Taln's sacrifice comes undone, or will you aid us in containing this monstrosity?"- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Indigo Weasel replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I actually item-scanned Venli this cycle with Liss' help, coming up with forged letters, and nothing else. Jasnah worked with someone on an item-scan of her own (she'll probably be by to share results to prove her not being involved son enough). The reason we talked less in the doc was because the extra help wasn't in there, so the planning happened in PM's. Attacking you to stop you from getting the black sphere is also rather counter-productive. After all, we only need to get it before you do to ensure its destruction, and attacking you doesn't help with getting it. Likewise, if we had been the ones to attack Gavilar, we'd have destroyed the sphere cycles ago, and probably completed our final set of win-cons.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Indigo Weasel replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ivory observed the 'beggar' from a distance. Something in the most recent events seemed to have changed the former herald. He stood a bit taller, and some of the madness seemed to have retreated from his eyes. I wonder if the recent events and talk of unmade have made him realize it's not over yet. Maybe he's finally willing to pick up his duty again. Ivory doubted that, but with the way the world was going, it was a possibility he couldn't ignore either. If he could find the Herald's Honorblade...- 1062 replies

The point's unfortunately moot at this point, but I item-scanned Szeth with help from Jasnah (which puts my chance of success north of 90%). He didn't have the black Sphere, but he did have an honorblade. I also know item-scans occur before items are passed. I'd expect Szeth to be the killer if it was the Parshendi win-con, so I think we can probably rule them out for now.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Indigo Weasel replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Someone had killed the king. Why had someone killed the king? These humans have gone completely insane! Ivory couldn't think why any of the humans would...well that wasn't quite correct. There where several reasons why one human might want to kill a different, more successful human, and if the rumors that king Gavilar had been involved with the sons of Honor then he was definitely toying with powers beyond his ken. But even then, killing him would only turn him into a martyr. The Black Sphere. It was the only motive that made sense. damnation it all to Braize! If that had been the reason for Gavilars murder, then he could only hope that whoever wanted it was just after a pretty gem.- 1062 replies

...That's really not the answer I was hoping to hear. If there's a chance of a gamble still ending in my death, I really don't have a choice other than ostracizing Amaram.- 1062 replies

Apologies. This was definitely not a reflection of any information regarding people's win-cons I might have (which is close to 0).- 1062 replies

I'm not opposed to this, especially because ostracizing him might not be a permanent solution depending on how long the game runs. There's one thing I want to check before I drop my vote though. @Orlok Tsubodai, does a successful 'gamble' action just flag their current win-con as 'completed', or does it also adjust the state of the game to reflect that completion? Say Szeth gets the win-con to kill Gavilar, and he decides to use the Gamble action and succeeds. Would Gavilar still die as a result of the action?- 1062 replies

Ivory took a moment to calm himself before he spoke up again. I don't know what it is about these humans that so easily breaks my composure. "I too would see things resolved without further bloodshed. The attack on Restares was unfortunately necessary, given the relative elusiveness of the attacker. The same is not true for Amaras, for even if he did decide to try and complete what he started, there would be no doubt that he's guilty, and justice will find him." "But let there be no doubt about one thing, Amaram. If you, or another member of these 'sons of honor', persist in these attacks, you will not live to see the Herald's return. And trust me when I say that most people would consider that a mercy."- 1062 replies

My win-con after Restares attack was to punish Jasnah's attacker. Dealing with Restares completed that win-con.- 1062 replies

When you try to avenge an ally, it is 'righting a wrong', but when I permanently put a stop to someone that had attacked your king's own daughter it is... what exactly? Tell me, where you so-called 'sons of honor' involved in that assassination attempt, or was it something Restares had come up with on his own?- 1062 replies

Ivory had come to a conclusion. Most humans where stupid, and lacked survival instincts. "I wonder, Amaram, was Renarin your work too? Depending on who you'd spoken too, you might have heard I was talking to him. Or maybe you'd heard he had an interest in that black sphere you're so interested in? I think you can consider yourself lucky that you'd managed to get rid of diplomat Nale first, as I doubt he'd have settled for simply having you tossed out. Had your attack come close enough to graze my defenses, I wouldn't have settled for that either."- 1062 replies

Actually, there's one less now. My win-condition for the last two turns was to deal with one of the murderers. I had reasons to suspect it was Restares, and dealing with him completed my win-condition. I don't expect to have any other attack-related win-cons, unless anyone else ends up with an attack-related win-con against me or mine.- 1062 replies

Depends on the situation. Generally it is, but if it, fore example, contained a claim about game-play mechanics that someone decided to run past the GM's,there's not much harm to it. I don't know what was originally in Jasnah's post though.- 1062 replies

Ivory had moved back to Shadesmar. The palace had become too chaotic, and the sea of beads helped him gather his thoughts. The storm of emotions had attracted the usual parasites and predators, and he made sure to remain unseen as he observed them, looking for the odd one out. Pain-spren, sorrow-spren and anticipation-spren where expected, but the actual murderer might attract spren of a different kind, and if he could find those, he could find the murderer.- 1062 replies

'Just how many people are interested in that orb?' Ivory wondered. 'Do they know what it is, or are they just trying to get their hands on something that looks valuable because of greed?' Something was definitely off about the behavior of these humans. He could understand it if they where just after it for the pretty gem, but they wouldn't murder anyone over it. Or at least, they wouldn't murder another 'Brightlord' over it. If they knew what it did, they wouldn't be falling over themselves to get their hands on it, they'd be looking for a way to seal it away safely for all eternity. 'Unless someone has lied tot hem about what it could do. I wonder...'- 1062 replies

Ivory stepped from Shadesmar back into the palace, and promptly fell down. It was as if he'd stepped form a fast-flowing river into a slow-flowing one. He looked around in shock and surprise, and noticed the many things that where just wrong. The humans where moving around at an accelerated rate, as if time had sped up for them. He could barely follow their conversations, the human voices having become nearly unrecognizable, but he heard enough. 'time-spren', 'fabrial' and 'chull' told him all he needed to know. 'Now they've really gone too far', he though as eh stepped back into Shadesmar. He was going to have to find the chull and break whatever infernal contraption the humans had built that allowed them to change the flow of time itself.- 1062 replies

Ivory gritted his teeth as the message was read out. Someone was trying to start trouble, and whoever it was knew things that these humans seemed to have forgotten. He shuddered at the thought of the diseased mind necessary to start this trouble knowing whit it would lead to. It had to have been one of the former Heralds, as there was no way one of the Alethi could be sane enough to learn these secrets, and insane enough to try and start a war that was only all too likely to end in Desolation.- 1062 replies

A mysterious stranger had appeared in the rafter. Ivory sighed. 'Well, what'll it be this time? A spy?' Ivory was moving through Shadesmar, trying to find a spot from which he could enter the rafters. 'An assassin?' It wasn't that he particularly cared what the humans where up to now, but the rafters would give him a good spot to observe them from and find who he was looking for. 'Maybe it's Adolin sneaking back in? Or maybe...' Ivory stepped back into the palace from Shadesmar. '..it's a cardboard cutout created by wit to taunt the nobles with!' Ivory looked around in the rafters. If it had been another one of wits tricks, then he'd already moved the thing away again.- 1062 replies
