  1. Vanna was back at home working on a painting. Not the one she'd started when all of this began. She'd put that one away for now, as the final image she suspected it held had started to scare her. 'No hope to be found there.' Instead she'd started work on a series of portraits. She was planning to make 12, and hoped that number wouldn't increase any more. Each portrait depicted one of the villagers that had died in the past days of turmoil. Vanna had already made good progress on a depiction of the blacksmith, and hoped to have laid the groundwork for depictions of Dingo and Iguana before it became too late. "I might not have been able to do anything to save you, and those that killed you haven't been found yet, so the least I can do is ensure you are remembered." She felt a tear spilling down her cheek, but ignored it and continued painting.
  2. Sage Kangaroo Vanna turned the page in her note book after finishing her notes on Kangaroo. 'Meerkat. There was something about him that made me almost skip forwards to hi a couple of days ago.' Vanna thought back to the first days of the disaster. 'Right, he tried to swing the lynch to Elyle (Swan) because he didn't like the Gecko lynch, but didn't provide all that much evidence for voting on him, and even admitted that he didn't believe some of the things he presented. Well, let's see if there's anything else to be said about him.' Salmon Meerkat Sapphire Elephant Violet Axolotl Vanna finished her notes, and closed the notebook with a grin on her face. She was finally done! She put the notebook away and got her sketchbook out instead. Now she could finally get back to her art, rather than doing boring detective work. She was about halfway through drawing the inn's scorched front when she realized she was forgetting something. She actually managed to finish the drawing before she realized what it was she was missing. 'Oh, right. I'm supposed to do something with those notes.' Vanna stood up, after carefully tucking her sketchbook away. "So, I'm mostly done with my notes. I've also looked over Ostrich again today. I don't think much can be said about Ostrich given her lack of input the last couple of days, though I suspect he'll get a change of heart soon. Not that I'd know anything about that..." "Ahem, moving on. I agree that Meerkat is rather suspicious, and probably the best suspect we've got. However, there's a couple of other things I'd like to know. First, @Sapphire Elephant, can you tell me why you are certain that Squawk (flamingo) is innocent? Was it just because Jai (beagle) trusted Squawk, or do you have reasons of your own that you can share? Secondly, @Sage Kangaroo, why is the opinion and approval of the villagers so important to you? You seem to be unwilling to vote on someone unless others agree, and seem to prefer not having your vote heard at all over voting on someone you suspect that others don't. I might have some more questions later, but I'll have to go and re-read my notes first to see if anyone else stands out."
  3. "Ehm, Sir Uinneas... This is not completely true. There was another one who was trying to get a response from the members of this group, though they weren't as obvious about it as Vulture." Vanna got the relevant letter out of her bag. "Flamingo was the last one to speak in the group, and send us all a message directly after accusing beagle and dragonfly. She asked us what we thought of them, and whether we, too, saw a pattern. Now, this is a far cry from actually asking us to agree with her, but the statement itself could have been made to try and lead us to a certain conclusion. Otherwise, what would the point of asking a specific number of villagers for input be, if she could have asked everyone in the thread. I'm not actually certain if this means anything, but I wanted to make sure this information was available." Vanna quickly walked back to the bench she'd claimed after correcting the large Shardbearer. She hadn't actually wanted to confront him, but she felt this was not the time to keep information back. Once she was properly seated she opened her notebook again. She'd probably be done by the end of the day. Maybe earlier if she could find the time and will to push through. 4. "I could give you the brief version of my notes." Vanna quickly flipped to her notebook. "I started compiling note son Flamingo today already, but didn't have the time to write them all down cohesively. The short version is that Flamingo really looks very new to me. Especially that breach of the local etiquette involving tone of voice (aka 'blue text'), is something that no one that has been around longer would do." Vanna rifled through her notes until she found the relevant part. "Now, the one big suspicious thing Onyx did was her distancing herself from the lynch of the first day and her accusation of beagle and Dragonfly. If she'd been accusing someone else there I'd have voted against her yesterday. However, the way she went after beagle and Ivory there suggests that they aren't all part of the murderers together. Now, there was the adamant defense from beagle that he believed that Flamingo was village. This helped with stilling my suspicion somewhat initially, but the notes that seem to be a major part of beagle's belief have yet to to surface, so I'm becoming less sure of that." "Now, let's talk about beagle." Vanna raised a hand to forestall any questions. "I'll share my actual conclusion about Flamingo in a bit, but it's linked to my conclusion about beagle, so bear with me." Vanna took a couple of seconds to get to the small collection of notes on Beagle. "So, beagle has been very talkative. Not just that, but he's also been somewhat involved in trying to get everyone talking. That's good, and part of the reason I didn't really suspect him. Nothing about his votes has made me particularly suspicious, until the swan turn-around. It was quickly made clear that this was discussed in private, but it has taken until now for us to be given a proper account of what was actually discussed. Beagle's tone also switched in the last couple of hours today, and he seemed to become very manipulative, branding those that didn't agree with him as 'confused' (potentially unintentionally, but that's how I understood that comment), while urging those that clearly weren't confused to 'take a leap of faith'. Talk like that really reminds me more of a murderer trying to buy as much time as possible before he is inevitably unmasked." "However, that brings me to the big problem in my argument. I don't think Flamingo and Beagle are both murderers, but their behavior towards each-other seems to be clearing both of them to a certain amount. Whatever evidence Flamingo handed over seems to have swayed beagle, and many of the most suspicious things beagle has said where, at least in part, in defense of flamingo. If flamingo is innocent, and beagle is a murderer, then he wouldn't have fought as hard to save her after the swan lynch. After all, if flamingo was proven to be innocent then his group was given a bit more legitimacy." "So, to summarize, I don't think Flamingo and beagle are both murderers because of the way flamingo attacked beagle, but then joined his group afterwards. Distancing yourself from your co-conspirators is a good idea, publicly joining them after you attracted attention to that isn't. Of the two, Beagle has been acting the most suspicious int he last couple of hours, but it doesn't really make sense that he's taken several of those actions in defense of flamingo if flamingo isn't one of his co-conspirators." Vanna realized that she had been talking for a couple of minutes straight. "That might not have been the short version, sorry. I know that my lack of a solid conclusion might not be very helpful either, but I have trouble finding a completely rational cause and effect in their actions. Even if both are innocent, beagle's tactics in defense of flamingo still look overly manipulative, so I don't like that option any more than the others I've discussed. I hope this has been some use to someone, at least."
  5. Well, if Jai had wanted to convince me to start voting against his suggestions, this would probably be what he'd need to say. "Jai, Flamingo ( @Oxblood Beagle, @Onyx Flamingo), this mention of notes is the most recent thing added to this discussion about your group, or gang, or whatever." Vanna worked hard to keep the frustration out of her voice. "I really don't understand why Flamingo would share them with Jai, instead of the thread if he thought he was going to die. If it was role-related, then claiming in the thread could have resulted in people backing off and voting elsewhere. Sharing them with one person also has the added risk of accidentally only giving them to an eliminator. I really can't figure out how this makes sense. So why did flamingo share them with only one person. And if there's no reason, maybe it's time to share those notes with all of us?"
  6. "I wouldn't expect to be saying this a couple of days ago, but Zebra is right. We need everyone to be involved in this unfortunate business. I know that I'm not exactly one to talk, as I've been staying more to the sidelines in the previous days, but we need everyone's input to figure this out. Not just because someone might spot an important clue the rest of us missed, but because we can't figure out if someone is innocent or not if they keep quiet." Vanna raised her voice somewhat, making sure everyone could hear the next part. "Now, it might seem like staying to the sidelines is a good idea if you're innocent, or want to make us believe you're innocent. After all, if you don't speak up you can't accidentally say something incriminating. However, we're going to reach a moment where being quiet stops being something that is ignored, and starts being something that is actively suspicious. So even if you don't have the time to keep a lot of notes and do a lot of analysis, at least look over the arguments given here and helpfully repeated by Zebra and decide which of these people you think is most suspicious. And once you've reached a conclusion, share it with us! Vote, and explain why you picked that person, even if the only thing you're saying is that you agreed with the argument provided by someone else it's better than nothing."
  7. Vanna put the last touches to the charcoal drawing of a particularly large winged Cremlin. She’d noticed the critter sitting on a nearby windowsill observing the proceedings and on an impulse had started drawing it. “Look.” She turned her sketchbook towards the creature. “That’s you.” The critters head turned towards the drawing for a couple of seconds, and then swivelled back towards the town square. It moved its front-legs in a way that would have looked like a shrug if the creature had been human. Vanna shook her head and stored away her sketchbook and took out her notebook gain. Next on her list was Albatross. Magenta Albatross Mauve Crocodile Mint Heron Now, there was the issue of the vote. A lot of people had expressed their suspicion of Tuatara by now, but there where a number of people going after Vulture as well. Vanna considered the matter for a moment. She was definitely somewhat distrustful of Amber, but she didn't suspect her more than Tuatara. Nor had Tuatara said anything that changed her opinion of his actions. "So, I suppose Tuatara it is."
  8. This is not something that should be in blue text, just FYI. Edit: Nor should this part be blue either. Just the first sentence you put in blue is what blue text is normally used for. Edit 2: Oh, right, new player, sorry. From Da Rulez:
  9. Storm it, I'm not even halfway done yet! Still, he wasn't really wrong. Vanna didn't expect to finish reviewing everyone before the next day was over, so sharing some of her conclusions now would probably be a good idea. She quickly reviewed everything she'd written to try and find a main suspect, starting with the two most recent additions to her notebook. Indigo Weasel Ivory Dragonfly "All right, based on what I've seen, I think Cream Tuatara is the most suspicious. He's done a lot of contradictory things, such as freely throwing accusations around during the first day and then suddenly claiming he would abstain from voting unless 'something big' happened during the second. He's also talked a lot without actually saying much, sometimes managing to say nothing in an entire speech. Lastly, this recent accusation of Jai (Beagle) seems weird. It's not the suspicion itself, as I'll be keeping an eye on him myself, but rather the way it was worded. Tuatara claims that lynching Jai would give us a lot of information, without actually specifying what kind of information he expects, making that an unsupported argument. As has been said before, 'Confirmed good isn't confirmed right'." Vanna took a deep breath before continuing. This next part would probably make someone unhappy. If she failed to get her meaning across properly, it would make a lot of people unhappy. "That having been said, I'm not too sure about this suspicion. Certainly, Tuatara is the most suspicious of the third of the village I've looked at, but I'm not certain how much that means as there's still around 20 people I haven't looked at. Tuatara is also currently in the top suspicion, and I feel adding to that right now might stifle discussion if people consider it a closed case. As it stands, I will vote against him later today, but things might change before that."
  10. "Eh, what?" Vanna looked up from her notes in confusion. "I don't remember defending Meerkat at all. being suspicious of him, and voting on him during the first day, yes. The only thing that could be considered a defense is backing off from pursuing that suspicion further after Swan decided to let Meerkat off the hook." Vanna shook her head. She'd probably need to review Meerkat soon, to see whether her first instincts where right or not, but she'd decided to approach it systematically, and abandoning that now might rob her of the momentum she'd built in getting the job done. Peneg Uinneas(Chartreuse Penguin) Cream Tuatara Aldrick (Emerald Falcon) Fuchsia Ostrich Vanna put her pen down. She'd covered about a third of the village now, but her hand had started to cramp, so it was time for a break. She took her notes and walked towards the edge of the village to look out over the world.
  11. Vanna nodded along with Amber's explanation. "You make a good point here about the murderers using votes to try and get their way, but I'd imagine they'd be a bit careful about initiating the vote against someone, as that might put too much scrutiny on someone if their target was innocent. As you can see now, a lot of people are looking into Jai(beagle) after he initiated the vote against swan. I actually do believe you when you say that you would have joined the vote against Swan when it formed, but I'm not sure an innocent villager would have felt the need to tell everyone that he would have done so if they weren't around to actually make the vote. That comment looked a bite like you where trying to cover yourself from any accusations of pushing for a lynch without participating in it. And making sure to pre-emptively protect yourself from accusations is something with a dirty conscience would be more likely to do, I think.I do admit that it is not the strongest of leads, but it is a reason for me to keep an eye on you." Vanna sighed. She wished she had some more observations to share, but various events had kept distracting her. Thoughts of her unfinished painting kept interrupting her deliberations. "I don't think I'll be able to add anything more to the discussion tonight, so I'll leave it at this. I hope to meat you all tomorrow again."
  12. Vanna had taken an early break from the discussion, as the stress of the past two days had tired her out. The village seemed focussed on Flamingo and Axolotl, and she wasn’t certain about their loyalties one way or another. As she came back from dinner and a nap, however, it was Elyle’s body that was being prepared for burial. *** She wasn’t sure exactly how she’d ended up at the cliff overlooking the pains below. Some shock and a great deal of swearing, maybe even out loud, had been involved, but she didn’t really remember more than that. It wasn’t even really the death of Elyle that had done it. They’d known each other, but no particularly well. The problem was that she hadn’t seen it coming. Nothing in the past couple of days had been particularly predictable, but at least there where some things that she thought would not happen. This sudden turn of the village against someone she hadn’t been suspicious of at all had completely blindsided her. Part of her wanted to go after those that had initiated the lynch. Another part wanted to run, get out and break through the encirclement under cover of the highstorm. The former might lead to answers. The latter might lead to safety. She decided to do neither. To make a painting you started with an outline. You sketched out what you wanted to paint, and made sure it would all fit the canvas you’d use. You’d pick your colors and make sure they worked well together before you began. That’s how she’d been though to do it anyway. She usually just got started, working from the borders of the canvas inwards and just seeing where things took her, but that approach wouldn’t help her here. She’d just been going after one potential clue, and then another without ever trying to get a good overview of everything that was happening. That would have to change. She took out her notebook, and marked each page with the name of a villager. Then she started writing. Amethyst Scorpion Hermux Tantamoq (Azure mouse) Amber Vulture Vanna put her pen down and looked over what she'd written uptil now. It was a beginning, but there was still a lot further to go. She resolved to keep working on it, though it would take her a while yet to finish it. It certainly wouldn't be done tonight, and probably not tomorrow either.
  13. 'Well, I guess angrily calling out people to explain themselves does work, sometimes.' Albatross had turned up shortly after Vanna had called him out and explained his reasoning for voting Scorpion. Vanna didn't exactly like his explanation, but it did make sense. "Fair enough, Albatross. If it can be helped, try not to disappear like that again until we've solved this."
  14. Vanna wished she could be elsewhere, preferably far away from this mountain. Wishing didn’t make it so, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to bring herself to leave, but still, thoughts of freedom taunted her. Discussion had continued to swirl around her, but lately several people had come by to prompt her to participate as well. Thing is, she didn’t have anything to add. That wasn’t really a reason to not participate, of course, but she’d always tried to avoid speaking up when she didn’t have anything of value to add. Yet as she looked over those present again, she didn’t notice one thing. Albatross, someone who she’d been somewhat suspicious of since yesterday hadn’t been seen at all last night, or today. Was he hiding? Vanna sighed. There was probably a completely reasonable excuse for why he wasn’t present, and going after him because of his odd vote while he wasn’t even there to defend himself wouldn’t particularly help anyone. Unless he was guilty, of course. After a moment's hesitation, Vanna spoke up. "I've got some questions for Albatross (@Magenta Albatross) about his reasons for going after Scoprion yesterday. So if he could join us here to answer them, I'd appreicate it."
  15. Vanna’s dreams had been about fire and smoke. Her awakening merely contained smoke, so she supposed that was something of an improvement. The news that followed did much to ruin her day, though. Another two townsfolk had died, and there was no sign of the perpetrators. She grabbed her notebook and charcoal on her way out of her house, and after a moment’s hesitation also brought her sketchbook. ‘One can always hope…’ That hope was quickly dashed as the town square was once again a milling group of confused citizens. She started looking for Meerkat, her prime suspect of the previous day, but as she found him she heard Elyle saying that he no longer suspected him. That stopped Vanna in her tracks. Meerkat had been going after Elyle with no other reason than that he wasn’t Gecko, yet Elyle was willing to forgive this? In light of that revelation, it would probably be wrong for Vanna to push for further interrogation of Meerkat. And yet… she thought of the small discrepancies she’d noticed yesterday and mentioned in her letter. What if Albatros, Gecko, Meerkat and Elyle where all involved in the murder? She tried to dismiss the unreasonable notion, but it stuck around in the back of her head as she walked away from that group. Still, she wasn’t going to let herself get distracted by such paranoid notions. Somewhere out here was an actual killer, and they need to find that person. At that moment Squawk spoke up. Vanna didn’t understand how the chicken managed to speak, but she suspected there was some kind of Spren involved. The particulars of how the chicken spoke didn’t really matter at that moment though. He apparently wasn’t all too happy about an accusation Nolan had made. Vanna listened with interest to the discussion taking place. Suawk made a good point about how there seemed to be a connection between Nolan and Jai, and yet her argument about not wanting to make mistakes during D1 rang hollow, as she never spoke out against the lynch like she was doing now. Then there was the fact that she’d been one of several people to contact a large group of what she’d termed as ‘like-minded fowl’. Contacting such a large group felt odd, as there would be a large chance of the murderer being among them, but if she was the murderer then it made sense to try and win allies and be able to keep an eye on what a number of villagers are saying away from the main gathering. But she wasn’t exactly wrong about the potential connection between Nolan and Jai either. Nolan said that they’d been pen pals, and that could be correct. Jai had sent a letter to Vanna last night as well, after all. However, if Jai had only started sending letters last night then Squawk was right to suspect foul play yesterday, as there already seemed to be a connection then. Nolan also seemed to be rather quick to trust Jai. Then again, that could also be a coincidence. Vanna felt a head-ache coming up. So much suspicions, and they couldn’t all be correct, right? So how was she going to have to separate the coincidences from the clues?
  16. Vanna’s hands where making a painting, though she wasn’t paying much attention to what she was making. Her mind was wandering, going over the events of the day before, and the great mistake they’d all made. Yet as much as she’d liked to, she couldn’t find a major flaw in what happened. There didn’t seem to be a thread she could pull to unravel everything and figure out what was going on. There was just a big stack of mistakes, with no clear turning point or alternative course of action. Well, at least she had some better suspicions now. She’d laid them all out in the letter she’d sent earlier that evening, and hadn’t given it too much thought since. The thought of a murderer out among them exhausted her, and the idea that he or she might strike again terrified her. It took some effort, but she forced herself to focus on her art, rather than the horrible events of the last day. It was the very beginning of a painting. The basic shape and theme had been established, but it missed many details. The border would be a roiling red and black shadow, but in the middle would be something bright and radiant, something to give hope. She hoped there would be something like that int he painting anyway, but currently the center of the canvas was still blank. ***
  17. With a curse of frustration Vanna crumpled up her fourth drawing and tossed it away. The village square had emptied out as everyone moved to the inn, but she’d remained seating, attempting to use her art to gather her thoughts and steady her nerves. But none of her attempts worked out. It seemed like the situation had robbed her of her ability to draw straight lines. Vanna considered making a fifth attempt, but decided it would be a waste of paper, charcoal and time. Instead she gathered up her paper and charcoal and headed for the inn. Hopefully the people inside would have figured out who had murdered the blacksmith by now. *** “…Really, I wanted another point to express to make my argument seem more valid.” Vanna stopped in her tracks. She couldn’t be hearing correctly here. Yet the speaker obligingly kept on explaining how he’d made an argument that he knew was faulty, just to make it seem like his argument was valid. And he seemed to be completely unapologetic about it. “Wait, so correct me if I’m wrong, but you are saying you accused someone, using arguments that you knew where wrong, but you included them anyway so that hopefully some people would agree with you?” Vanna had to suppress the urge to shout those words. "And you somehow consider lying to get soemoen lynched because you don't have the arguments to actually make a solid case a normal thing to do?" She took a breath to calm herself, and the added one last thing. “I thought finding the culprit would be difficult, Salmon Meerkat. It seems I was wrong.”
  18. Vanna shook her head. This place was going downhill faster than she thought possible. Sure, the blacksmith had been a stabilizing influence, but she hadn't thought things would go this badly this quickly once he was gone. First there was Nolan, who'd been just about ready to give himself up, not because of a belief of guilt but because he considered himself dead weight or something. Why in the Stormfather's name would he think that? Everyone knew that if you needed a discussion about some piece of history or an obscure bit of knowledge settled, you'd come to Nolan. The man was a veritable fountain of knowledge! Then there where all the seemingly random accusations, and even people arguing that this was a good idea somehow! Justice is based on accountability! if everyone can just claim to have made their accusation on a whim, then how can you hold people accountable and find the culprit? It was like everyone was letting their passions get the best of them... 'Oh Storms...'
  19. Okay, this won't be in RP because I'm tired, RP takes time and this needs to be said. @Ivory Dragonfly, Experience is not an important factor. If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd have thought you where one of the semi-regulars, actually, based on what you're doing and saying. Just keep playing, as giving up doesn't help the village at all.
  20. The man in red seemed confused now, and since Vanna had no real reason to suspect him, she decided she might as well help him out. "Well, you might not have meant to, but you where shouting really loudly that you thought you where suspicious. Sure, you where quoting that other guy, but you need to be careful about that, as it can easily be mistaken for something else if you don't do it right." (Red names outside of quote-boxes are technically votes, even if you are quoting someone).
  21. Vanna had retired from the discussion for a short while to exchange her painter's supplies for a notebook, charcoal and a sketchbook. She'd been using the first two to make notes about the various accusations flying around, and had hoped to use the last one once the issue was resolved. That hope was gone now, as not only where there very few indications about who could have killed the blacksmith, but a lot of people seemed to be using the occasion to vent all their grievances. Most of the accusations she'd recorded up until this point where for trivial reasons, such as jealousy, dislike of someone's name and one outright case of speci-ism. Then there was one fellow that seemed to be accusing himself. This was probably an accident, as it seemed the guy had been trying to defend himself from accusations against him, but still ( @Scarlet Octopus). Of the accusations that remained, most had to do with people being lazy and slow to join the discussion, which Vanna thought was outright ridiculous. The sun hadn't even reached it's zenith yet, so it was to be expected that some people would be slow to wake up. She didn't think these accusations where in any way reasonable until at least the afternoon began, so she added the names of the people making those accusations to the top of her list of suspects. Then she moved the people who'd been voting for trivial reasons to her list of suspects as well. However, a quick count revealed that this put almost a third of the village on the list. Vanna suppressed the urge to toss her notebook away. Instead, she reorganized the names to see if there was one person that people seemed to be ganging up on. The murderer would probably try to get someone else convicted for his crime, so he'd be best served by agreeing with someone else, rather than looking for a suspect on his own. Unfortunately, this didn't help much either. Sure, it created a bit more order in the chaos, but it didn't reveal any great secrets. There was one guy that might fit the criteria she'd set out for a possible suspect, but he'd also been adamantly suspicious about two different people without retracting his suspicions on either, which just mad him seem indecisive or unsure (@Taupe Gecko). She'd keep an eye on him though.
  22. Vanna added the final strokes to her painting. It depicted the sun rising through a haze of smoke. A beautiful sight, in an 'end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it' kind of way. Behind and below her the village was in uproar, but she had shut all of that out while working on her art. The process of creation always came to an end though, and as the creation-spren faded away the reality of her situation once again asserted itself. Vanna hated that situation. she longed to be free to travel, to explore, to see all of Roshar. Instead she was cooped up in this little village while her world burned. She'd thought of running a number of times, but knew that no good would come of that. She packed up her tools and headed back to the village, still deep in thought. Her reverie was broken as she entered the village. People where making accusations and shouting about...'Oh no, not Darrin.' The blacksmith had been somewhat of a friend of Vanna. He treated his craftsmanship as much as an art as Vanna did with her paintings. He'd also been one of the most respected members of the village and had been a stabilizing influence on some of the more volatile characters. With him dead anarchy was an all to likely result. Around her, various villagers ran around, talking, debating, and making loud accusations. Yet as Vanna observed them she started to notice a pattern. A lot of the accusations where aimed at villagers who weren't actually around. She supposed a lot of them where still sleeping on account of it being a feast-day, so it made sens that they hadn't woken up yet. But despite of that a lot of people seemed to think that was very suspicious. 'I guess it would make sense to expect someone that was out and about for murder during the night would be sleeping in. But then again, wouldn't it make more sense to try to be up early to see the result of your handy-work and deflect blame?' That conclusion reached, she started asking around about who first started tossing around accusations. There where a whole lot of them two where apparently at the scene within minutes, but a lot of the accusations seemed to stem from established grudges. 'Or did they?' There was one in particular who'd made an accusation against a sleeping villager on account of them still being asleep, while the sun hadn't even finished rising above the horizon yet, so that's who Vanna turned to. "Nolan(@Ivory Dragonfly), is it? Can you explain to me why you were accusing those still asleep while the sun hadn't even finished rising yet? And why exactly is 'still being asleep at sundown' a good reason to have someone killed? I very much doubt someone lazy enough to sleep through an entire day would be able to make the effort to kill old Darrin. This sounds to me like you're trying to find someone who is a convenient scapegoat, rather than a true suspect. Now, I might not be a Skybreaker with their fancy instincts for justice, but that sounds very suspicious to me!"
