  1. Ok cool gotcha. I have always really liked Hoid, I hope he ends up not being a bad guy. I remember one time when he was talking to Dalinar he said to not trust him too much because he might not have the same goals as him. But he was so good for Kaladin and Shalan. When they needed him, he showed up and said the perfect thing and told the perfect story. I find him kinda inspirational.
  2. I spent like 20 minutes reading and re-reading your post last night, thanks for the long post and all the info! A few follow up questions: Is the name "Arcanum" at all similar to Patrick Rothfuss's Arcanum? So. . . The Seventeenth Shard is the name of the group right? And the other 16 shards are more like beings or forces? The Seventeenth Shard is hunting Hoid. . . What does Hoid want?
  3. There is so much in here I need unpacked for me. Who is Aslydin and when do she and Demux get together? (I've read all the Cosmere books except I'm reading Shadows of Self right now). What is the Seventeenth shard, do we already know about 16 of them? What is Silverlight? Sorry if I sound like such a rube, I hope someone will take the time to explain some of this. Thanks! I think you can message me if you don't want to respond in this forum.
  4. Can someone give me a quick refresher on what Adonalsium is? It sounds familiar but I can't place where it in, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the Starlight Archives. Was it mentioned anywhere else? Is this a thread between Sanderson's worlds? Sorry if I sound like a newbie. I've read all the cosmere (most books multiple times) but I forget a lot in between readings. Thanks!
  5. @SkyTroupe Yeah the Vin poster is really cool! In the First Ordeal poster I think it's Shalan and Kaladin. But that's just a guess. Or maybe Jasna Jasnah?. . .
  6. Hahaha, well it definitely did confuse this newcomer. But I like it! I'll get used to the cool kids lingo soon enough.
  7. So as I spend more time on this site I'm seeing some kind of complicated guild-ing going on. What's all this about poaching and cookies and the dark alley? I'm a little confused.
  8. I love Renarin too! He's insightful, caring, and he continues to persevere and fight even though the world does not bend to him. I'm sure your son is just as awesome! Thank you for sharing. Welcome to the Cosmere!
  9. Lift is one of my favorites also, and I LOVED Edgedancer. I agree with you about the oaths, especially the first one of all the Knights Radiant. There is a poster for sale on the Brandon Sanderson website that I want with the first ideal.
  10. Ohhh got it. Thanks Forgetful Archivist! Love the name by the way. And I'm sure the cookies are delicious, how do I give them to other people too. As long as their not made with shells, I'm no Horneater!
  11. Thanks everyone!!! I'm really enjoying talking and messaging with people who get all the book references I'm making and like the books I like. I'm still getting used to the website and how things work. What are the "reputation titles" below everyone's names. Do we all have the same ones, are they like levels?
  12. Ohhhhhh, it's Spook! I totally forgot that Sazed gave him Mistborn powers. Or maybe I just missed that when first reading it. I've actually read most of Sanderson's books multiple times and I'm surprised I missed this. It always gets me when I reread a book and understand something new or get a nuance I didn't get last time. That's what I really like about these books. Thanks for clarifying!
  13. "The longer you live, the more you fail. Failure is the mark of alife well lived. In turn, the only way to live without failure is to be of no use to anyone." -Wit, Oathbringer
  14. Hey there, First of all, I apologize if I spelled anything wrong in the title of this post. I listen to the audiobooks for all Sanderson books and I don't know how to spell names therefore. And let me just say, Sanderson's audiobook narrator's are pretty spectacular. Some of the best in the fantasy audiobook world. Here's my question regarding the Mistborn series. I have been reading Sanderson for two year now or so and I have read Elantris, Warbreaker, Starlight Archives, Mistborn. I just realized there is a second series in the Mistorb series (Wax and Wayne). I have been listening to it for a few hours now but I'm a little confused as to some of the references the book is making to the early Mistborn books. Like is the Lord Misborn they reference the Lord Ruler? Harmony is Sazed right? And the warrior is Vinn. Am I getting these right? Hope to hear from some of you. I'm new to this website and am so far having a lot of fun immersing myself in all things Comsmere. Thanks!
  15. Hey there peeps! I'm new to the website and I wanted to introduce myseld. I'm a big fan of the Cosmere and I am stoked that I just found this website. Why didn't I know about this until now! Anyway, I'm excited to read all about the books, what people think and etc. Thanks! Jana
