Nightblood is one of the great mysteries of the cosmere. A shardblade made out of awakened steel that bleeds black smoke and can force those it deems unworthy into murder and suicide. feats similar to Ashertmarn the Heart of Revel, or Neragaoul with the Thrill. I am not saying that nightbood is one of the Unmade merely that he (or she) could be a recreation of the Unmade's powers with the intent to DESTROY EVIL, and like the Unmade has an intense desire to understand his intent. Please feel free to poke holes in this idea or add to it at your leisure.

Yes but would they have bonded Dalinar? Or do the 9 shadows have some other significance? For instance representing Odium? As I was reading oathbringer I thought the 9 shadows represented the unmade but why wouldn't Odium have brought them when creating his champion? Only two (if the black smoke was indeed yelig-nar.) Were present. From my reading it seemed that Dalinar would have gained the black shardplate and 9 shadows immediately upon accepting that he was Odium's champion.

Things I would like to see in book 4 would be Jasnah interacting with zahel, Unmade backstory, and Aimians entering Dalinar's alliance.

the question I have is why would Odium's Champion have black shardplate and nine shadows? there were only two or three of the unmade present at the battle. If we assume that Odium's Champion would bond the unmade shouldn't the rest of the unmade have been present? If not then why nine shadows?

as a casual fan of the 17th shard since Words of Radiance, and a fan of Sanderson since Elantris I felt I had to make an account after reading Oathbringer. I am more of a lurker than a conversationalist though I do have a few theories of my own.
