On page 58 of Oathbringer Dalinar stated he knew exactly what his boon and curse was. later it is revealed what was done to him. Couldnt remember the page so here is roughly what happens. "I asked the ardents," Dalinar said. "I didn't get what I wanted." YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVED. THE TRUTH YOU HAVE CRAFTED FOR YOURSELVES. "I am doomed then," Dalinar whispered, stopping in place. He could still hear those voices. "They weep, Mother." She looked back at him. "I hear them when I close my eyes. All Around me, begging me to save them. They're driving me mad. THIS WILL BE YOUR BOON. I WILL NOT MAKE OF YOU THE MAN YOU CAN BECOME. I WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE APTITUDE, OR THE STRENGTH, NOR WILL I TAKE FROM YOU YOUR COMPULSIONS. BUT I WILL GIVE YOU... A PRUNING. A CAREFUL EXCISION TO LET YOU GROW. THE COST WILL BE HIGH. "Please," Dalinar said. "Anything." IN DOING THIS, I PROVIDE FOR HIM A WEAPON. DANGEROUS, VERY DANGEROUS, YET, ALL THINGS MUST BE CULTIVATED. WHAT I TAKE FROM YOU WILL GROW BACK EVENTUALLY. THIS IS PART OF THE COST. IT WILL DO ME WELL TO HAVE A PART OF YOU, EVEN IF YOU ULTIMATELY BECOME HIS. YOU WERE ALWAYS BOUND TO COME TO ME. I CONTROL ALL THINGS THAT CAN BE GROWN, NURTURED. ALL MEMORIES OF HER. THIS IS THE COST. SHOULD I FORBEAR? Dalinar squeezed his eyes shut. Evi... He had never deserved her. "Do it," he whispered. You find out much later in the book that Dalinar's boon was forgetting all that happened and his curse was also forgetting all about his wife but the effects of that were obvious to him. If his boon was to forget everything then what boon is he talking about so early in the book before he remembers all that happened?

I think I have noticed one difference so far. All depends on how you read it/hear it. but page 266 WoR. When Kaladin was dueling Sword Master Zahel (who is believed to be Vasher from Warbreaker) while talking about his job and role as a bodyguard. This was also when Renarin was wearing plate for the first time and was jumping off the roof at the training grounds. When Kaldain and Adolin then started sparring and Adolin launched Kaladin with a kick. Kaladin while injured on the ground sucked in some stormlight to quickly heal him self. Now in the graphic audio Zahel audibly gasps. This is the difference I feel, in the book it says "Zahel cried out in surprise" because it was more of a gasp then a yell/cry it made me realize that Zahel with extra souls/light (I cant remember Warbreakers magic system) But with the extra light/souls they can see colour and hear sounds on a level that normal people cant. So when Kaladin sucked in enough stormlight to heal himself but not enough for everyone to see him glow by normal standards. Zahel would of noticed Kaladin glow for he can see colour and detail they cant. This is something I had not picked up on early, but as I said before, its all about how you interpret it while reading/ listening to it.
