  1. Oathbringer spoilers Also, could Kelsier become a Knight Radiant, and if yes what order would he be in? (actually, I think the answer is "No; Dustbringer/Willshaper)
  2. Does animals have a cognitive 'part' and a spiritual 'part', or only cognitive creatures have them? Can someone pass from the cognitive realm to the physical or vice versa without a perpendicularity?
  3. 1. The Nightwatcher doesn't give you what you wished for, she gives you what she thinks you deserve, so probably you won't get more wishes. 2. Hoid has a cognitive mind and a soul (probably), so I don't think they would multiply. Anyway, have fun trying to find a way to cut him in the first place.
  4. I'll try to give my answers to those questions, according to my understanding of the magic system (tl;dr in the end): 1. In general allomancy, the power comes from preservation, and the metal is just a gate, or a bridge. However, with atium, the power comes from the metal itself, as atium is made of pure investiture. 2. I don't think so. As atium doesn't change allomancy, lerasium would probably function as a normal spike, except for the unknown attribute it steals. 3. Maybe, but I think the official explanation is that every human on Scardial has a piece of Preservation, and that piece allows them to burn lerasium. According to the coppermind, lerasium create a permanent connection to Preservation and rewrites the user's spiritweb. In addition, snapping is only for 'sleeping' allomantic abilities, not new ones. Also, there isn't such connection between atium and lerasium. They are not opposites. 4. Again, atium and lerasium are not opposites. What atium does is not changing the future, but more of informing the user of the near future by allowing him to pick into the spiritual realm (which is interesting, because Ruin himself is bad at reading the future). Forgery, too, doesn't really change the past, but more allows to rewrite an object's (or a person's) spiritual connection, or possibly it's spiritweb (it may actually be the same thing). It always seems strange to me, as it is mentioned many times in The Emperor's Soul that Forgery works on how the object views itself and how others view it, which is cognitive and not spiritual. So, in conclusion, probably not. tl:dr No, no, maybe but I don't think so, highly improbable.
  5. I don't think his Honorblade was present. As seen in the prologue to SA, only nine of the heralds left their Honorblades and abandoned the Oathpact, so Taln probably took his blade with him to Damnation. As a counter to that theory it can be said that he came back with only a shardblade, so we don't actually know if he had his Honorblade or not.
  6. A Vessel to a Shard needs to have presence in all three realms (or at least the two higher realms, as we saw in SH). In addition, the said Vessel needs to have a strong Spiritual Connection to the Shard they pick, and it is impossible without a Spiritweb (the Spiritual DNA of a person, his presence in the Spiritual Realm). I believe I answers questions 1 and 2, but I don't know about the third. Is it something from OB? I didn't get my copy yet
  7. There are only 9 Unmade, so not each order. But maybe the bondsmiths or another order are excluded. Also, it was an OB spoiler, please mark it as such
  8. I got 75% truthwatcher 71% elsecaller 29% lightweaver 28% skyweaver 6% bondsmith and 0 for the rest. I'd put skybreaker above lightweaver, but it's accurate for the rest.
  9. link: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/30-lisbon-signing/ the 'Sources' part in all of them says "dgeni8's report - 117th Shard" I'm pretty sure it suppose to be "17th Shard", but maybe there are 100 more forums like this running somewhere, I don't know...
  10. I don't think so. In Secret History: So I think it literally makes someone luckier. And your theory resembles Atium too much
  11. oh, thank you, my mistake
  12. Really? I didn't see this anywhere, and Coppermind says it works on the cognitive. I couldn't find any other evidences for either side.
  13. Actually, he didn't have that ability. He just absorbed Elantrian Connection from the fort walls, which let him understand the language and more things about them. It would give him the ability to understand Aons, maybe temporarily, so the theory still stands.
  14. They work on how an object sees itself, so yes
  15. I tend to see most fabrials as electric circuits, where Stormlight flows from the gem-battery to the other parts, so according to this theory, it would resist allomancy as long as it was connected to a gem with Stormlight. About 25, I got the impression that Shallan's illusions was more of a self-hypnotism, so I don't believe it is capable of changing her in the spiritual level. Maybe just in the cognitive level, temporarily. It is somewhat similar to Essence Marks, because they also work in the cognitive level.
  16. Yes, I got confused. Than you for pointing it out
  17. Cadmium can be used for councils or meeting to have more time. Cadmium and Duralamin can be used together to achieve a similar effect to a lot of Pulsers, but that's not very useful...
  18. Why do spren bound to humans and make them Radiants? If someone would build a shield the same way Nightblood was built, and Awaken it with the command "Protect Life", or maybe "Protect Good", what would it be like? Would it be able to block Nightblood? Does every invested creature produces a colour aura in Nalthis, like people with a lot of breath?
  19. So, what would happen if Vin's body was made a Lifeless? She Ascended, but only for a little before she died, so her mind wasn't corrupted by the Shard yet, but she took a whole lot of investiture into her. It is similar to Arsteel's case in some aspect. I tend to think that she would be like Clod, but much more sentient.
  20. I have an idea. maybe: Ambassador - Soother + Connector tapping connection lets her speak to people from other countries, while soothing helps her create a friendly relationship with them. What do you think?
  21. Thank you for the detailed comment, and the clarification of the terms! I've read most of the cosmere books, including Mistborn: Secret History, so I know terms like Vessel or Cognitive Shadow , I'm just not used to using them. I didn't know about Slivers.
  22. Hello, I'm Sariel. I'm new to this forum, nice to meet you all. I read every cosmere book and any other Sanderson novel I could lay my hands on (except Sixth of the Dusk and White Sand, which I read only the first chapter, for different reasons). I am a general fan of fantasy and sf, especially Anime and Manga, and High Fantasy. I don't get to talk a lot with more Sanderson fans, except my brother, which is why I'm super excited about this forum. Let's talk a lot!
  23. Hello, I'm Sariel. I joined yesterday. Nice to meet you all. like all of you (probably), I have a mile-length list of questions about the cosmere I'd like Mr. Sanderson to answer. Here's one I was wondering about: We already know that if someone had a lot of Breath when when he died, and then he turned into a Lifeless. he'd be more sentient, and will be able to control himself better. Arsteel is a good example for that. So is someone would take the body of a previous Shardholder, like Ati or Leras, what would happen? Would they be fully sentient and able to control their bodies? Would it matter if the Shardholder held the Shard for thousands of years, like Ati, or for a couple of hours, like Vin? What is your opinion?
