Kaladin doesn't seem to have problem with killing to protect, so I think it is something regarding himself. Like - I will not be afraid to live for myself. It is consisent with him supressing his feeling for Shallan. Since he is by WoB in clinical depression, accepting his own worthiness is something, that sick people have problem to.

Well, I have so simple and obvious theory, that knowing Brandon, it has to be wrong. Odium says: We killed Honor. It hints, that he had help. Odium is afraid of Sazed, who has power of 2 shards and Stormfather says, that he is worried about exposing himself to Cultivation. So it seems, that Odium is unable to fight 1v2 shards, so he couldn't kill Honor, while Cultivation was on Roshar. And he freaks out, when he thinks he sees Honor, so it indicate he lost acces to his help. It would make plausible, that Ruin participated in splintering of Honor, since it both suits to his MO and not being able to help Odium again.

Well, we had first book with bigger view of diagram and in the end it turns out, that it anyway doesn't matter. I am kinda disappointed, that Sanderson wanted to show it as utterly hopeless and that genius Taravangian has only big ego. So here is a thought - it was repeatly said, that stupid Taravangian isn't allowed to make decision and therefore his deal with Odium isn't binding. I really hope for some more of diagram, not just another tool for Odium.
