  1. Reading has always been my passion but listening is far easier for me. I'm not supposed to listen to books at work but no one really stops me either. Sitting there reading might be hard unless just on my breaks. I read the prologue already and probably will keep up with the chapters and then get the audio and start it where I leave off. Or maybe just listen all over again! See how antsy I get waiting.
  2. Thought about finally getting into all the theory now that Oathbringer is being teased out by Tor. I'm still relatively new to the Cosmere books. I have listened to Stormlight Archives so far and Warbreaker. I knew I was hooked when I pre-ordered a copy of Arcanum Unbound. Elantris and the first Mistborn Trilogy sit on my bookcase waiting to be read but actually reading is a leisure I hardly have time for. Thankfully audio books are a thing and Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are amazing. Seriously, I can't begin to say how great it is to listen to books being read aloud. I listen to them at work and currently going through the entire Wheel of Time series because they also narrate them as well. I've been meaning to get into the Cosmere books for a very long time. My buddy Sean kept trying to push Mistborn onto me forever. I remember him showing me a copy of The Way of Kings when it came out. Talking up the world building. Telling me he was going to be the one to finish Wheel of Time. O.O Granted, this wasn't in that order but you get him trying to get me hooked. I actually went to a book signing for A Memory of Light on 2/18/13 in Hanover MD (i used to work at that mall actually). I admittedly wasn't all that excited. I had given up reading WoT back at Winter's Heart when I lent my copy to a friend and never got it back. It had just come out and it crushed me and when I got it back I tried and tried to read it but it wasn't very interesting. Sean asked me to go and get at least the final book because one day I would go back and read them. Well I'm working on it still(book 4 atm, only get in about 6 hours of listening a day)! Gathered round in the book store while Brandon talked and did some Q and A. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading did some chapter reading as well. Harriet was there as well thanking people for being fans of her husbands work. It was amazing. And I totally was not even really a fan much at the time anymore. One thing i would like to point out was how silly I felt asking Brandon to sign my book. In line I noticed my book (they passed out books while we were in line) was a little messed up from the printing so I ran to get another. Get up to the table to get it signed and he opened to book to the title and laughed and said he couldn't sign it as he already had signed it! Guess he had been busy signing some of the other copies in the store for after he had left, which is super cool by the way. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you now for the rest of your books and for that great signing. I wish I could have been a bigger fan then, especially with my favorite narrators being there as well. And thank you community, it's great reading through all the posts and I hope I can get through the rest of these books!
