  1. Looking through the chronology, it is mentioned that in 1163, prior to the first meeting with the Parshendi, on the Hunt, that Dalinars wife dies. It references Chapter 22 of WoK in the notes. This is of course, prior to Gavilars death and the vengeance pact, when Kalidin is still at home in Hearthstone, with his parents, who are both alive. I can't make sense of how this chapter concludes this, but if it is true, then Dalinars wife cannot be Kalidins mother. Can anyone fill in the blanks?
  2. I think it's more poetic that Kaladin would rise from the ranks of dark eyes to become so powerful. It will help in upending the notion that light eyes are the end all be all, when in ancient history this was not the case. There is a lot of language about this line of thinking, and with the Knights Radiant reformation, it seems that things of ancient times will come about again. He is sort of a messiah for the down trodden; the little guy. To have him be of light eye parentage undermines that whole narrative.
  3. Now I wonder if there will be another secret history type of book. There's always another secret (history)?
  4. Saze is much too bumble to allow it to be named after him, I think.
  5. As a "tell" and not as a "show" character, sure.
  6. *nods frowning* Hmmmm, you're right.
  7. Sorry bot bump this, but I am new ehre, so all of hte topics are new to me. True it is said that impure alloys can make you sick and all. but.. trace is the key here, I think. Her luck was only able to do a very small amount of soothing before it was depleted because it was such a small amount of metal. So i should think, would whatever sickness be small. Also since she was most likely instinctively burning a small amount of peweter, it most likely didnt effect her. Even if it did, she would have never known, because the condition would have beent he same all of her life; to her it wouldnt be "I feel a little sick" it would be "I feel like Vin". Also... IIRC, she has a brass ear ring.. She is already mistborn, but a hemalurgist in soothing as well, meaning she would need a very trace amount of brass for he "luck" to work. Which is probably why it is the only one that actually stands out to her before she learns that she is a mistborn.
  8. Rashek would have tried to keep it the same. He thought his sytem was perfect, but was a flawed thought. There was an imablance as long as Ruin was imprisoned. Rashek never realized that he wasn't trully the Hero of Ages, and threfore never realized that his system of taking and holding the power was only temporary- even if an extremely long amount of imte.
  9. Vin's charcter seemed like it would work with Natalie Portman.... Though, with Vin's age, she may be past her prime for that role. I kept getting the mental image of the Ministers apprentice from The 5th Element as Sazed.
  10. Third time trying to post this.. *crosses fingers* I would like a sandbox styled RPG, with a twist. Open world and non-linear, but with ceratin anchor events that unfold in the story arc, you switch over to another PC. Sort of like LoK: Defiance. I think it would lend itself to Brandons character development quite well. Additionally, this way you can play a mistborn, feruchemist or hemalurgist in a playthrough, but it isn't necessary for them to essentially write three serparate games as they would have o do if you were only able to pick one of those "races". Though, I would be happy with just having a single mistborn PC. My hopes would be that it is real time and not turn based in order to really capture flying through mists (if the setting allows) the effects of atium and so on. But, so long as there is a game, I'll be happy, I think. I like Knightmare's ideas for the different allomancy skills! Perhaps, in addition to leveling those skills, some metals don't become available right away. In addition, there could be metal vendors of differing reputation and skill. Some perhaps aren't as good with the purity of their metals or in making their alloys. Depending on who you buy metals from can determine the efectiveness of allomantic skill. This could be a good way to scale how powerful you are.
  11. Hello, FNG here. I started reading Brandon's work with War Breaker and just finished the Mistborn Trilogy yesterday and cracked into AoL last night. I really like Brandon's Character development and magic systems. *waves*
