Finished watching season 3 of Escape the Night. It was a fun one with a bunch of Youtubers I actually know about (Rosanna, Matpat, Safiya, Colleen and Guava Juice) though I wasn’t happy with who gets all the way to the end. Manny and Nikita got on my nerves between Manny’s ‘Okay we get it, you’re gay’ way of acting (I’m okay with LGBT but the way he was doing it got pretty annoying considering about half the cast in all three seasons is somewhere on the LGBT spectrum and he’s the only one to keep showing it off like being gay is going out of style while everyone else tends to bring it up only when it’s pertinent or for a joke between themselves) and Nikita’s general mean girl shtick along with calling everyone a slontze which got old by the end of episode 1 and considering she survives the night shows how unfun she was.

Almost done with Lego Dimensions, just doing the Adventure Worlds stuff. Since this is my second play through I wanted to do something fun, going to the worlds in chronological order of when they were released. Here’s the order: DC Comics (1937 when Batman showed up), Wizard of Oz (1939 since they used the film), Doctor Who (1963), Scooby-Doo (1969), ET (June 82), Knight Rider September 82), A-Team (83), Ghostbusters (June 84), Gremlins (June 84), Goonies (June 85), Back to the Future (July 85), Midway Arcade (1988 but I have no clue when they opened so I’m not sure if they opened before the next one), Beetlejuice (March 88), The Simpsons (89), Sonic (91 used the first game release date), Jurassic Park (93 technically Jurassic World but the franchise starts with the original so I used that for placement), Mission: Impossible (96), Powerpuff Girls (98 technically the new version but I think it’s more an update than a reboot so original show premiere here), Harry Potter (November 01 film version), Lord of the Rings (December 01 film release), Adventure Time (10), Ninjago (January 11), Portal 2 (April 11 had considered using the original but they made a point of using the 2), Chima, (January 13) Lego City Undercover (March 13), Teen Titans Go (April 13), The Lego Movie (14), Ghostbusters (July 16), Fantastic Beasts (November 16), Lego Batman Movie (17). I find it funny how it starts and ends with Batman and how two worlds had the exact same date. -
Just finished Season 2 of Escape the Night. This was a surprisingly fun romp considering the only people I had watched stuff for were Tyler and Jesse. I felt so bad for Tyler and Liza when they had to do the Gingerbread Woman challenge where they had to eat a bunch of candy and desserts, first by eating everything that was red, followed by everything square and finally eat a whole cake. That was nauseating to watch since I doubt I’d win that. Season 3 here I come! This has a bunch of Youtuber’s I’ve actually watched stuff from from Safiya to Rosanna and MatPat

How bout this: it’s a romance with incidental music sprinkled in set in a what if world
-
Not a biopic either since it’s not really about anyone real
-
Doing a watch of Joey Graceffa’s Escape the Night since the first three seasons are being shown for free to promote the new season coming soon. Only on season 1 with 1 episode to go. Can’t believe how the other Youtubers treated Justine when she’s getting ‘eliminated’ since the only person who showed compassion was Joey.

Well it’s not exactly a musical since no one breaks out in song, it’s just done like someone would in real life when you’re singing a song you remember. But yes, this is a take it or leave it film since it’s pretty average despite the gimmick.
-
Saw Yesterday yesterday. It’s okay, definitely a one and done film since I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it on dvd. The best way to describe this movie is that it seemed like they wanted to make a romance but they wanted a gimmick and chose ‘what if the Beatles never formed’. They did include the fact that if you erase one thing from history other things have to be erased as well, because of influence, but some of the ones chosen seemed arbitrary because a couple were around before the Beatles (coke and cigarettes) while one I have no clue what connection it would have (Harry Potter).

I hope you mean coke as in soda as a whole and not the single beverage known as coke. It’s not exactly a nauseous feeling, just more that blah feeling when you’re not feeling great but you’re not feeling sick/nauseous/pukey. I think the closest might be more like how those with celiac and lactose intolerance describe the feeling when they don’t get gas. Edit: Okay I did a little bit of research. I’m wondering if it’s a minor HFCS/corn intolerance since, of the many symptoms for intolerance, the ones I get afterwards are migraines and tingling in the mouth. For the longest time I thought the tingling was a normal reaction to drinking soda but after I’ve done International ones like Ramune, a few British ones and even American sodas with real sugar, I didn’t get that tingling feeling. I think it’s a minor one because I don’t get the symptoms after eating regular corn based products (cornbread, corn tortillas, etc) nor with stuff made with corn syrup. Because it’s specifically called high fructose corn syrup and not corn syrup I wonder if it’s just a more concentrated form of corn and that’s affecting me when I have it. Not sure what else has HFCS and I can’t think of any other foodstuffs that does that to me. -

No, I felt that way even when I used to drink it all the time. I’m also not one of those who’ll chug the whole thing so I’m taking my time to drink it, yesterday I had one of those 16 oz coke’s (I hate coke but I thought it was the revival New Coke which I wanted to try but it was just regular Coke) and I was sipping it over the course of 1 1/2-2 hours and I was drinking a cup of unsweet tea as well. I also still get sugar through candy and dessert items like cookies, though I’m not eating them every single day or I’m pairing them with tea in the evening. To show how different it affects me I had a brownie sundae the other day, which would be full of sugar because of the chocolate and ice cream, and I felt fine but after that one can of Coke I felt terrible. -

Well Nomura does do some retcon in the newer games, but a handful of the retcons are actually translation mistakes (one being in 2 where Donald and Goofy say his majesty banished Pete but in Japanese it was gender neutral and when Birth By Sleep happened it turned out to have been her majesty so the translators chose the wrong gender) but overall the series is enjoyable to play. Luckily it’s all available in one set called The Story So Far which has everything before 3 -

Same, though I didn’t even play until I had a PS3 since I was introduced to Final Fantasy thru Kingdom Hearts and X was my first one. -
Good luck on WOT. Currently reading my first adult (I’ve done young adult ones) international book that wasn’t originally written in English, The Bat by Jo Nesbø, so that’s going to be interesting.

Not knocking the graphics, just being glad to see the game at its fullest potential instead of being limited from the time. I do like the game, it just takes time to get through. I’m curious how many parts will be done to finish remaking it since the team has said they will not cut out anything from the original game and that was 3 PS1 disks while the remake is 2 discs and isn’t even a quarter of disc 1. -
Yeah, doing a one book break really helps. It does help that Brandon does different genres so every book feels different so a cleanse isn’t as needed. WOT is worse since it’s a 15 part story that’s so hard to read in one go.

Does anyone else experience this? Do you feel kind of ‘blah’ after eating/drinking certain foods or ingredients? I’m talking about where it’s not an allergy but you just don’t feel good afterwards. I feel this way after drinking American soda. I gave up soda last year and only do it every so often, sometimes I’m just in the mood for a root beer, and I’ve noticed a pattern. For the longest time I’ve gotten bad migraines and tend to feel ‘blah’ after drinking one and with giving it up I’ve noticed that I don’t get the really bad migraines anymore, I still get migraines but it’s much more bearable, and the few times I’ve done American sodas the really bad ones come back. Now notice I keep saying American sodas. I’ve done some International sodas, like a watermelon ‘soda’ from France, and I don’t feel bad afterwards like I do with American sodas. The only thing I can think of that’s different between the two is that American sodas use corn syrup while International sodas use sugar. Now I’m wondering if the corn syrup doesn’t agree with me, like if I have a high fructose corn syrup intolerance. -

Still playing Lego Dimensions. I’m just currently doing the Story Pack levels (Ghostbusters 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Lego Batman Movie) and once I 100% those I can finally do the Adventure Worlds which I’m doing with the twist of playing in order of when each franchise first came out. I did have to finagle on some like Lord of the Rings by going with the film versus the books since the version used is the film and the Lego brands I used when that franchise first started. A couple others I went with the very first film, like 1993 for Jurassic Park even though it’s the fourth film, and the first Portal game instead of Portal 2’s release and the original Powerpuff Girls since the reboot doesn’t have enough to make it drastically different unlike Teen Titans Go and the two different Ghostbusters. -

Just wait until March so you can play it with modern graphics... though this is only Part 1 and apparently just the opening stuff in Midgar itself and nothing past that unless Square surprises us all. -
I had to take a break when I did my first read since I needed a palate cleanser. It kind of helped that when October came around I wanted something spooky to read so that was a good time to break. Then when the holidays came along I didn’t want to haul WOR so I grabbed a different book to read.

Saw Toy Story 4 today. It was pretty good and had a message about moving on. As much as I like the Toy Story films I’m just at the point of “can you guys please stop it with Toy Story already?” I mean whenever anything Pixar happens the go to film is always Toy Story since the first thing from Pixar that entered the theme parks was a Buzz ride followed by Woody’s Round Up at the Golden Horseshoe followed by Toy Story Midway Mania and now the various Toy Story Lands around the world. Pretty much I’m getting Toy Story fatigue and would rather watch something else before they ever make a Toy Story 5.

Just finished Stars Above. Since it’s a short story collection it’s better to just give individual opinions on each story. The Keeper: So nice to get a story featuring Scarlet’s grand-mere and how she came to care for Cinder while also keeping Scarlet in the dark. It’s just sad when you get to the end when Cinder has to leave. Glitches: This is about when Cinder first came to live with her stepfamily. It was so sweet how Peony instantly liked her, Cinder being a cyborg be damned! This also ends sad since Garren, her stepfather, gets the plague and dies. The Queen’s Army: This is about how it was like when Wolf was drafted into the wolf army. The whole story is just sad to read since there’s nothing good that happens to him, even his personal victory of having his unit sent to earth so he doesn’t get the full modifications is bittersweet considering he doesn’t get a bright spot in his life until Scarlet shows up. Carswell’s Guide to Being Lucky: This is about and incident that happened when he was in school. Not my favorite of the stories but I was surprised that he came from a very well off family, rich enough to have a maid, since the impression I got in the main books was that he came from a poor home. After Sunshine Passes By: How Cress came to be on the satellite. Definitely a sad one as it gets to the satellite itself and how she just can’t deal with it and pleading not to be left there alone. The Princess and the Guard: This is definitely my favorite of the stories in here. Unlike the other stories where it’s stuff happening to the heroes, this has Winter and Jacin making choices that make them who they are in the books. The moment when Winter gave up her gift after realizing it wasn’t helping a suicidal servant at all was very powerful but pales in comparison to when Levana forces her to scar her own face and actually defies her with just one statement “I won’t”. Meanwhile Jacin gives up his dream of becoming a doctor to protect Winter from the dangers of Levana and from her own mind. It’s just sweet how it goes. The Little Android: A take on The Little Mermaid. It’s okay but the ending is the best part when she switches places with the girl so that the guy she likes can be happy and to help the girl stay with him, even though she knows the Android body is rejecting her personality chip. The Mechanic: It’s just the first chapter of Cinder told from Kai’s POV. Does give some funny commentary on what he’s thinking during that conversation. Something Old, Something New: A perfect ending to the series. Scarlet and Wolf getting married and it was so fun reading everyone throwing a secret early wedding while she has no idea what’s happening. Overall I liked seeing these snippets of everyone’s lives before the books start. I also read Volume 6 of the Power Rangers comic. This is the calm before the Shattered Grid happens. Not really much to say on that. My next read will be something a little more realistic, a mystery! The Bat by Jo Nesbø.

@NottTheBrave I’m not even sure what other films Oscar has been in so I can only judge his performance off of Poe. It’s like he’s trying way too hard to be the Sequel Trilogy Han and not giving a quarter of the swagger. The plot of the trilogy could still happen without him in the rest of the films after his opening scenes since Poe was supposed to die in that crash on Jakku but Oscar was hesitant to take another role where his character dies so Abrams changed the script so that Oscar would accept. I think another reason people like him is so that people can ship him with Finn. I’m all for LGBT relationships but those two don’t have good chemistry to me, heck Finn and Rey had better chemistry and they’re just friends.

I feel you @Jaywalk I’m 28 but my mother still treats me like I’m 8 and whenever I express my own thoughts or likes it’s automatically me being the exact opposite as a form of rebellion. So sorry for not being into war stories or wanting to call people by derogatory terms or liking this crazy merchandise that you hate Here’s something she does and it always ends up my fault. She’ll rush off to do something because she wants to get things done but when it involves stuff loaded in the car and doesn’t give a chance to unload it it’s my fault that she rushed off and didn’t tell her there was stuff to unload. Last night we had gotten coffee cups and paper plates at the store and she needed to rush to the car dealer afterwards so we got home, to grab my car if hers could be left for her service, and I got our personal stuff inside but when I came back to the garage to grab the stuff in the back she already peeled out of there so when I got to the dealership I had to unload all the stuff from her car to mine so that it gets home and it was somehow my fault it was still in her car. Maybe if she didn’t drive away while I was inside the house I’d have had time instead of her trying to go fast with getting things ‘done’ -
Funnily that was the original plan but everyone liked him too much to kill him so they let him live. I just don’t see how they can make him better in 9 at all. Yeah, if he had just listened and followed Leia and Holdo’s plan things would’ve gone much better for them but no he just had to be a rebelling teen against an authority figure because if they don’t reveal one tiny detail then they’re obviously up to no good instead of being a leader.
