Yes, the only other alternative I can think of besides Ado is another shard that is just extremely skilled and experienced. Dalinar and Taravangian are both very young as shards go. Also, my thought is that perhaps Ado, if they knew the shattering was coming, carved off a balanced portion of their power that they could inhabit at the time of the shattering so they would have something to use in traversing the Cosmere and observing the results of the shattering.

I agree. Heck, even the ardents at Urithiru who have experienced some rather insane things at this point are being extremely stubborn. Who cares if the Stormfather is a spren? Until a few weeks ago they still thought the Stormfather was God himself (or something like that). Now they're willing to accept that out of hand but feel differently about their beliefs concerning Honor? They seem to be picking and choosing whatever is convenient to sustain their belief system. Unlikely, as there is some indication that in Bands of Mourning that Furthermore, the point of Odium's champion being challenged seems to indicate that there would be some benefit for him avoiding further direct conflict with Roshar (and possibly Cultivation). Namely, winning might somehow allow him to break Honor's binding so that he can escape the Roshar system, which is definitely a long term goal for him. I agree for the most part. Though I don't think it's impossible. With three existing shards, the Greater Roshar system has so much clout that it's possible that it's a growing nexus of shardic activity. I think the most likely option is that Odium leaves though.
