  1. This is a necro. A worthy necro.

Surgebinding FTW. While Feruchemy is a close second, Surgebinding is just plain overpowered as long as you have enough stormlight. Provided that I get a steady stream of the stuff, I would probably choose either Skybreaker or Windrunner. Skybreaker because division sounds amazingly cool, and because flight is sick. Being able to tell the wicked from the good would be helpful in making friends. The only downside would be having to obey the law all the time. Windrunnes I would pick because they share gravity and can stick people to stuff.

Shardblades would be so much fun.

Also with the stormlight I could basically heal myself from any wound in minutes, so I'd have a pretty long life. I'd also get to be one of the best athletes in the world because I could just breathe in some stormlight and get superstrong.

I totally agree! Alot of people would call me healthy, but what I think I've been doing lately is burning muscle instead of fat due to lack of sleep, food and water >>

Amazing how body image views have changed so much over the years.

I'm also very skinny, but I think that I'm fine. As long as I can walk and talk and think, I'm okay.

Shinovar has chickens, dirt, strawberries, horses, people without the common epicanthic fold that is shared among most Rosharans. Now don't call me racist for counting that the Shin don't have epicanthic folds as evidence for Earth. But don't you see the similarities here? Shinovar is Earth. Shinovar is Cosmere. Thus, Earth is Cosmere.

Wait so Szeth is white I thought everyone else was white and Szeth was asian lmao my bad.

Just for the dye for a CT angiogram. I had some white matter lesions show up on an MRI a while ago. Had a brief scare that I had MS, but I'm clear of that (thank heavens). Looks like there's nothing actually wrong with me, but my doctor is being thorough and checking for EVERYTHING (even though we think I have nothing).

The dye felt really interesting though! Kinda like how I imagine magical healing would feel - a warm, extremely strong tingling sensation all throughout my body, following my bloodstream. Burning without being painful - just warm. A bit like the way whiskey feels going down your throat, but in your blood and all over.

Wish I was that lucky when I had my stint in the hospital. They got me high on a bunch of pain medications so I couldn't feel anything but pain. It actually sucked.

Iv's do stink, but at least it isn't forever. If what you say is true, you just get to tell your friends that you went to the hospital, and they'll think it was something sick.

Personal Complaint: I have this one sweatshirt I really like wearing, but for some reason one of the scummier kids who is in my friend group keeps giving me grief for it, just because it is dirty. This same dude also keeps telling me I "look like a school shooter". I can't report him to the principle lest I become ostracized. He's generally unliked but snitching is considered all around dickery.

Spren symbiosis with native lifeforms is an example of pre-Shattering “ambient” Investiture Magic.

I'm pretty sure this is post Shattering. There is a WoB that says that the spren modeled their symbiosis after the Heralds and Honor.

Otherwise, this is a pretty good and comprehensive theory!

I'm saying that the Shardic names are usually related to their intent. (Harmony is a little iffy, but oh well) Adonalsium's intent was "to create life(sentience?)" IIRC, which is on a different level from the intent of Honor, or the intent of Autonomy, etc.. Anyway, Honor's name would, at its most basic, mean something like "to be honorable", Autonomy'd have "to be autonomous"

Adonalsium himself would be likely define it as "to create" but perhaps over time, people's interpretation of the name changed it's common meaning to the point of the name literally meaning "of God."    There was something more to this idea, but I'm drawing a blank from being tired

So people gradually began to tie the name of Adonalsium more and more closely with deific power?

This is a bit of a long shot theory but it could be that those responsible for the Shattering thought that Adonalsium was almost something of a heretic. Since the God Beyond is the one true god, they might have thought that killing a being who claimed to be a deity would prove their point.

Conversely, saying that Adonalsium is "of God" might say that he is created by the God Beyond. He is the closest link to the God Beyond in the Cosmere. I'm kinda wasted right now so it's hard to think.

Granted. The Nightwatcher gives you a piece of notebook paper with the words "ten wishes" scribbled on it. The paper then jumps down your throat and gives you diabetes. The Nightwatcher doesn't play games.

I wish for a grove of trees whose pollen gives magical powers to those who breathe it. The pollen is pink and smells like lemons.

Granted. But all who get these powers lose them ten days later and contract a strange disease which makes them turn pink before they melt into bubbly lemon juice. Enjoy your last ten days of life!

I wish for the ability to turn others into their sexual fantasy.

    too much RPG.

That dream does seem a little freaky towards the end. And that last part...I hate cliffhangers! :P

Well, it might have something to do with the fact that I watched this youtube video right before bed. (It's horror, but it's really good.)

  9. I dreamed that I had to fight someone, I didn't know who. A masked man appeared in front of me and offered me aid in killing my opponent. Graciously accepting his gift, he offered me a potion to increase my strength. What I wish I had known was the fact that it was poison and he paralyzed me, standing over me with his creepy smiling devil mask. All night he tortured me and frightened me. By the end of the dream, I started to hear a loud loud noise, which seemed to signal angels to try and save me from the man. But before they could, he started to take his mask off. I woke up after.

The insistence on "1=3, don't ask how, it just is" was one of the first easy steps in my journey from Catholic to atheist.

Yeah. While some of the stuff the Church says does not make obvious sense, people excuse that as us being human. I'm not telling you to reconvert, however. The one thing I do hope is that you still think about the more ethical Catholic values, as those really helped strengthen my moral compass early on in life.

Good to see. I think it also implicitly confirms that Hoid's ramble about shuffling the letters of words around did not mean Adonalsium is an intentional anagram for anything meaningful as -ium is a suffix indicating a metal so really just Adonalsium is a god of metal.

Or, it could be something entirely different. In Latin, -ium is one of the suffixes used to denote the genetive case, which can dictate possession. So Adonalsium could mean of God. What would the implications for that be?

@Jedal, I'm fairly sure that your post - from Catholic perspective - contains some heresy

For example this. The Trinity always was.

But mostly these. Jesus is not an aspect of God. He is not a part of God. He is God.

And also that part about Jesus learning about his true nature. First off, He has spoken of His nature when He was lost and then found in the temple (childhood). But anyway, He always knew He is God.

And that part about "He is a divine part of God who is allowed to walk the Earth as any other man" is very close to arianism.

Oh lol. I was just trying to simplify it. Both in my church and in my true father's teachings, the ethics of Christianity are more important than the actual supernatural story. I still believe all of it, but it seems that how I interpret it differs from others.

When I say that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are an "aspect" of God, I mean it in the sense that They are all considered the same being. God, in the way I mean it is everything to ever exist and will exist. These "aspects" are different components of this being as perceived by humans. God the Father creates and administers punishment, Jesus walked the Earth and lived as one of us, and redeemed us through death, and the Holy Spirit guides us on our path to spiritual maturity. They are all the same Being, simply three different interpretations/interactions with His creations.

And in terms to the arianism thing, "allowed" was the wrong word. I meant more of "sent". Although it wasn't subservience it seemed more like the Father divided/copied Himself and "downloaded" it into Mary. The whole not knowing He wasn't God thing was my mistake. I must have forgotten that part.

Edit: And I'm Roman Catholic lol. My family somehow focused more on how Christianity empowers us to do good things. From what I've been taught, what you believe is negligible if you are a good person otherwise.

@Deliiiiiightful Re: the Trinity: According to the theology I was raised with (mainline evangelical Christian--pretty common here in the States) the Trinity is God in three persons, as one hymn goes. God the Father (the God we see throughout the Old Testament, and who Jesus refers to as God) God the Son (Jesus, God in the flesh) and God the Holy Spirit (a helper who provides guidance and sometimes enables followers to do miracles, sent after Jesus ascended into Heaven). Christians believe they are all aspects of the same God, and worship all three. So they do worship God, but they worship Jesus and the Holy Spirit as well, believing they are all the same God. So in a Christian church, you'll hear prayers directed at God and at Jesus, perhaps asking him to send the Holy Spirit, sometimes within the same prayer.

The way I heard it explained at times was like an egg: You have the shell, the yolk, and the white. They're all different things with different functions, but they are all a part of the same egg. One egg, in three parts, that make up one complete egg.

This is a good explanation, but I have to throw my own hat in the ring. @Deliiiiiightful

This is how I personally interpret the Trinity:

In the beginning, there is one God, the Father. He creates the universe and all the creatures and things of the Earth. During the Old Testament, this is the God which is referred to. He empowers the prophets and guides the Israelites, promising them one day a Deliverer. This is the first we hear of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is an aspect of God put in flesh. Basically, He is a divine part of God who is allowed to walk the Earth as any other man. Although Jesus is incredibly insightful into the workings of the Church and theological debates, He has no knowledge of His true origins until the Father claims Him as His one and only Son when Jesus is baptized. Jesus lives on earth and gives teachings until He is crucified at the age of 30. He is resurrected three days after, and gifts each of His twelve Apostles the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Up until this point, not much was said about the Holy Spirit. However, it was said to grant the apostles the ability to speak all languages of the world and the courage and wisdom to spread the Christian faith. During Confirmation, each and every child to be Confirmed has the Holy Spirit sealed within them, to give them strength and guide them.

God the Father acts as the supreme Creator and supernatural being, who dispenses punishment as He sees fit. Jesus is the more loving, understanding aspect of God after he returns to Heaven. Jesus is the one who forgives sins. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives strength to follow faith.

It's like a God with three faces. Each one represents a different aspect of the same divine being. One is Creator, one is Redeemer, and one is your Guide.
