Question, did anyone else get the feeling that the Skybreaker was a Singer?
This is a tenuous assumption, but I am basing it off the fact that Dusk said he spoke with not quite an accent, but a strange pattern to his words, which would indicate Rhythms still being there while using a connection translator.Could be but we saw that even humans like Navani and Kaladin started to feel rhytms, so may be all Rosharans are this way.

Actually his wife being Valor's vessel would make a great deal of sense:
1. She is invested which as a lot of you mentioned would probably make most sense for Hoid since, some ordinary mortal would probably be too limited lifespan for him to deal with.
On the other hand he did date Jasnah, so may be this is not that big a deal for him.
2. It would tie nicely whole Frost being his friend, if Frost is Valor's brother. They would basically be one big family.
On the other hand Starling would also call him uncle right? If that would be the case....
3. Lastly I can imagine that holding a Shard would make her forget he was her husband. We saw what that does to a Vessel. Granted Sazed kept much of his memory, but those who have Shards from the beginning seem more affected. So memory loss would not be a strech.

This was how I interpreted it as well. Basically, Hoid saying "My wife can't help... But the twins can".
Children didn't even cross my mind. I instead started racking my brain for any twins that we know of. I only came up with 2 pairs:
- Shallan's brothers, Jushu and Wikim
- Lunamor's eldest childeren, Cord and Gift
Neither pair is particularly interesting to me. Can anyone think of others I may have missed?
I agree, him saying "the twins", didn't seem like mentioning his own children. I don't know, seems a bit cold and offhanded comment for me.

How do you make a Shard forget that she is married?
Also, Hoid's children will be Mistborn.
Well not necessarily, if he had them before ingesting lerasium.
11 hours ago, teknopathetic said:I suppose if Valor drops the shard, maybe there are consequences. But fair enough. We know breath can be used to make people forget, so maybe that was somehow used?
But the whole thing is weird. Why did she forget? Why isn't it top priority for her to remember? Does she not want to remember? Does Hoid even want her to remember? What do the twins think?Breath is used to forget but only if they stored memories in Breaths, right?
Whole thing seems weird but she is probably from Yolen or Silverlight, assuming Starling met her

So any guesses? I think he mention having one or was it in WaT?

Do you think that Retribution invested his own "Heralds" for such tasks, even if it is not Dalinar or was it just a random skybreaker?
1 -
Are we sure it is a Skybreaker? May be it is Blackthorn invested by the Retribution the same that Heralds are invested by Honor?

Are dragons Slivers of Adonalsium and is dragonsteel a god metal? Because (SA The Wind and Truth spoiler):
SpoilerHoid mentions that everybody who is not former part of Adonalsium has trouble in Spiritual Realm, to keep track of time and whatnot.

SpoilerStarling seems to be okay in there.

I enjoyed first two books but I did not expect this third one to be so psychogically deep. Honestly, what a piece of work! I am curious about that ending and what it means for the fourth book but I really enjoyed that biggest battles and biggest progression of characters were basically stuff that happened "inside". I never would have guess such a development after first book being more or less lighter reading. I admit that I am stuck in SA Rythm of war because sometimes it is just too depressing for me to read. Brandon really knows how to describe emotions and how to make you feel them and this book is also like this but it has more positive vibe.

I do wonder if this won't end up happening. We know that Cognitive Shadow-like entities can bond spren (Nale, for instance).
And I do think that he would make a great Lightweaver. Seeing the oaths from him would be amazing. Willshaper is more suited to his actions, let's say, but Lightweaver is what he needs.
okay but Lightweaver is about admiting the truth but Kelsier is all about "there is always another secret."
I think that he is Ligthweaver but he is evolving to be Willshaper.

Bondsmiths are special. It's the difference between being a leader and the leader. It's a very meta role. I think Elend and Sazed (and maybe Vin or possibly Kelsier?) all have some level of Bondsmith potential.
Also, it's a group of thieves and revolutionaries, which is gonna attach lightweavers and willshapers more than anyone else. It's not just about potential and personality, nahal bonding seems to be about your goals in life and how you approach problems (see the Kelsier Willshaper vs. Lightweaver discussion) so the sort of people who join up to use a heist to take the oppressive government are gonna fit best in those two orders. Lots of other characters, like Marsh, Elend, Sazed, or Tyndwyl are def not either of those orders.
good point

Kelsier - Willshaper, but more likely to end up a Lightweaver. Slight possibility of Dustbringer (Quiz agrees)
Elend - Bondsmith/Truthwatcher/Elsecaller (Gets Edgedancer and Windrunner before Bondsmith, neither of which suit him well. However, all three are pretty close.)Vin - Windrunner/Lightweaver (Quiz agrees)
Sazed -Truthwatcher/Edgedancer
Tyndwyl - Elsecaller
Marsh - Skybreaker/Stoneward
Breeze - Edgedancer/Lightweaver
Clubs - Willshaper
Spook - Dustbringer
Ham - Truthwatcher
Dox - Stoneward
Alriane - Willshaper/Lightweaver
Beldre - Lightweaver
seems like Lightweaver/Willshaper order would atract a lot of the crew.
I honestly thing Ham would be more Stoneward along with Dox.
But I wonder where are Bondsmiths and other orders? Kelsiers crew was really diverse yet they seem to fit into only few orders.

The Radiant Quiz pegs him as a Willshaper too.
Kell definitely seeks personal freedom. He is one of the most autonomous people in the Cosmere. He also likes to travel and explore. He hates being barred or controlled. And he did want to help the Skaa. He also wanted revenge and he wanted to prove he wasn’t beaten. These things are not mutually exclusive.
I can definitely see Kelsier attracting a Reacher. I actually think Willshapers start out a bit more selfish than most other Orders, with its members starting out seeking personal freedom and moving toward seeking freedom for others.
Totally agree. That is why I think Vin would nkt be Willshaper. She did care about protecting much more than freedom.

So for Vin......Windrunners vs Stonewards:
QuoteWindrunner oaths are themed toward protection, particularly defending innocents or those who are unable to protect themselves.
The Windrunners tend to attract “big sibling” types, who seek to protect the defenseless, but also enjoy action and fighting for what they believe in. They’re primarily scouts, though they often work as special forces groups, able to deliver teams of Radiants behind enemy lines for secret missions. They tend to be the most like conventional soldiers, believing in structures of command, team dynamics, and the importance of a squad of brothers and sisters. They often have larger numbers of squires than other Orders and focus more than any other Order on mastering their weapons.
QuoteStoneward oaths focus on team dynamics, on learning to work with others, and on being there for those who need them. They put the interests of others before their own, and will not bend their Ideals for the sake of convenience.
Stonewards are the infantry and ground troops of the Radiants and are renowned as their finest soldiers. (A title that, on occasion, the Windrunners dispute.) They tend to attract those who are most interested in warfare, prowess with weapons, or athletics of any sort. They like a challenge, and in times of peace are seen engaging in (and running) various sporting events of both a military and non-military nature. Many enjoy the outdoors, and you’ll find exploration enthusiasts among them, as well as those who just like the fresh air. They tend to be known for their can-do attitudes and for taking on enormous projects (sometimes more than they can handle). However, most agree that the primary attribute of the Stonewards is their dependability. Though sometimes gregarious, they are never flighty. If a Stoneward is your friend, they will be there for you, and that is a core tenet of their Order—to be there when they are needed. Another key attribute is their ability to take a difficult situation with few resources and make something better of it. Though not known as inventors or creators, they are good at improvising solutions to problems in the moment.
Both seems too much soldier for Vin, she was more assassins but to be there when needed sounds like her.
Maybe looking into the core of it: is she more "I will protect" or "I will be there when I am needed"?
SpoilerWhen I think of her fight with Inquisitors I really see it as the later.
Edit: Others fit quite nicely:
Kelsie - Willshaper
Sazed - Edgedancer
Elend - Truthwatcher

"she could fight, could kill, if it meant protecting those who could not protect themselves"That is definitely true that is why it come up to me in the first place but I still have feeling that this:

...makes a lot of sense.
I really can see her as Taln, always picking battles in the worst possible places and besides she literally sacrfice herself. It is shame we don't know any Stoneward ideals.

Truthwatcher definitely fits Sazed well, but I think that Edgedancer works best. After all, remembering those (religions) that have been forgotten is his whole thing.
Yes and he also could move gracefully.
I am still wondering about Vin. Like what is her main thing? For Kelsier it was freedom, for Sazed to rightly pointed out it was to remember.
But Vin?
Is she more like Stoneward or windrunner? But she was never soldier or even like them.
She is kind of sneaky like Lightweaver but she was blunt and did not lie.

I can't believe it, in 2019 I asked at signing if Kelsier will ever appear in SA and I got RAFO!!!!!
So, now I finally find out!

Per the quiz he’d be a pretty bad Elsecaller, which makes sense. I don’t think Kelsier has heard of logic.
The quiz puts that at third. Kell could do with mastering himself, so it would be a good order for him to be in. But I don’t think it’s an order he would normally end up in.
Willshaper and Lightweaver are where he gets the highest marks, which makes sense.
Willshapers tend to be explorers and free spirits. They also tend to the flamboyant. Kelsier loves to learn new things, traveled widely, and is extremely autonomous. He hates being controlled. And he’s definitely flamboyant, lol!
Lightweavers... Well, they’re the natural home for a conman. And at his core that’s exactly what Kelsier is.
Not to mention, he only really drops his mask four times throughout Mistborn. Once when Marsh dies, when he meets Drifter, when he faces Ruin the last time, and when he embraces Vin before she leaves. The truest Kelsier is the one we see smoldering after Marsh’s death. The one he keeps contained, because he knows how dangerous that part of him is.
So the Lightweavers can definitely fit him.
I definitely agree, I just see him as Wilshaper because of his free spirit. That was his most prominent feature through all the book.
But a nice point about him dropping masks.
Maybe it depends on his inner thoughts on whether freedom is most important or his lies and truths.

Vin: Dustbringer, Elsecaller, Lightweaver or Stoneward, she sought to improve her capabilities, get a handle on her powers, feel human, was unsure about her role & identity, was very stubborn and stood her ground in the face of overwhelming might.
Elend: Truthwatcher, was curious, studious, concerned with how power is exercised by those in power. He could also be a Bondsmith, he could be very charismatic after Tindwyl's training. Elsecallers would welcome him too, I think. Could be a Stoneward as well, like Vin, he was was very stubborn and stood his ground in the face of overwhelming might.
Sazed: Bondsmith, Elsecaller, Dustbringer, Edgedancer, could guide people very well, sought self-control and fulfillment, was a Terris Keeper and tried to distribute hope through lost religions.
Definitely agree with Elend. Good idea there.
Sazed probably fits Elsecaller really well since uniting them was more of his after Mistborn finishing and
Spoilerhim uniting Shards
but I guess Dalinar also got there in time so I don't know if that counts.
Anyways, his scholarly nature would go well with Elsecaller.
What about Vin? Still quite a lot of options.....She kinda fits for Stoneward as I see her a bit like their Herald, suffering so others don't have to, I don't know ...........

What abou Vin? I have absolutly no idea where to put her?

Well, as title says.
I think he would be Willshaper, since "I will seek freedom" looks kinda like his thing.
What do you think? And what abou Vin?

Also, having sex/benefits with the same sex isn't enough, you have to be in a relationship? Who the ^%$# made that rule?
I do too! (Still think Vivenna has some writing issues in Warbreaker...)
I dare you to find a cuter cosmere couple that Susebron and Siri. (Though I admit, Susebron is pulling most of that weight. That man is second only to the lord ruler in attractiveness. Yes, I'm a simp for TLR, who I tend to imagine bald half the time for some reason, don't judge me, I'm attracted to power!)

Any tips for Ireland trip?
in General Discussion

Okay so probably in May I want to take my family (my husband, 10 year old twins, 1 year old baby and me) to Ireland. The plan is to take a plane from Czechia (where we live). Then from Dublin take a train ride to Cork where we will rent a car. I would like to see following places:
Blarney Castle
Gougane Barra National Forest Park
Gleninchaquin Park
Uragh Stone Circle
Torc moutain+wallerfall
Killarney
Kerry cliffs
Then I also have some backup places in case we would have too much time as:
Minard castle
Connor pass
Drombeg stone circle
But I don't think we will get there because we will only have 6-8 days and I will be the only driver since my husband is solving some medical issues and would rather not drive.
So any tips? Is this a crem dung idea? I really want to see Ireland and enjoy it with kids, we do not necessarily need places that are full of turists. We love nature, forests and just roaming outside but we will also have our youngest with is which for me means I want to take it pretty easy and just enjoy Ireland nature and vibe.
