  2. Well, my skin has acquired a bit of blue tinge. Then again, that could be from lack of sunlight or an abysmal diet (I am a standard nerd, after all).
  3. Let's double down! Hurt Lord Grumpypants, heal Taravangian (the most excellent of all villains) 1. Hrathen- 7 2. The Lord Ruler- 16 5. Ruin- 5 7. Miles- 8 9. Bleeder- 9 10. Denth- 11 12. Odium- 6 15. Taravangian- 13 18. Szeth- 6 19. Mraize- 9 20. Tyn- 9
  4. A noble. At least life would be comfortable and death relatively swift! Would you rather be able to fill metalminds but not draw from them (probably giving them to people in need or selling them for profit) or draw from them but be entirely dependent on metalminds filled by others to do so?

  9. Disease powers, please! It would suck majorbigtime but the soul-level damage from killing people would be worse. Would you rather haunt the silent forests of Hell or roam the ashen countryside as a mistwraith?

  11. Warbreaker, hands down. Would you rather... (Warbreaker spoiler)
  12. That's going to be rather inconvenient.
  13. Unfortunately all we have in the office is aluminum. Gotta wait 'til after work to dip into the metal stash at home. Maybe I'll try electrum first!
  14. Yes and heck yes!
  15. When Mistborn first came out in paperback I spotted it among a local book store's new releases. The title stood out and the cover was attractive so I read the first few pages and was hooked. It'd been a long time since a fantasy novel really piqued my interest since there's just so much of the same rehashed stories and worlds all over the place. The fresh new ideas and well-realized characters in Mistborn completely rejuvenated my love of the genre! As soon as I finished it I snapped up Elantris and prepared for a long, anxious wait between Sanderson releases. Little did I know he is an incredible writing machine so the relatively short delay was bearable. Ever since then I've picked up his books as soon as they were released, preordering most to avoid spoilers from the no one else I knew who reads his stuff. XD It's nice to finally be on a forum where I actually have to worry about spoilage! Plus ~last month I converted my new roomie. Fellow fans, yaaaaaay!
  16. This may be cowardly but I'd rather be a living slave than brave but battered/flayed to death in a storm. Would you rather be able to soulcast but most objects resist you with Stick-like persistence or be able to forge souls but you add some atrocious personality flaw every time?
  17. Welcome to the shard, Vin! Watch out for that friend of yours. I've made a huge mistake.
  18. Hmmmm... for the welfare of the fandom at large I suppose I'll accept the risk of this experiment. *madly noms cookies like a certain fuzzy blue puppet, crumbs flying everywhere*
  19. As cool as Rysn is, I'd love to compare notes with Axies. Plus we could look for alespren together! (EDIT: Just realized that could become very awkward given where he keeps his notes. XD) Would you rather be Mistborn or attain the 5th Heightening?
  20. Why are Mommy and Daddy fighting? *cries*
  21. I'll echo the Mistborn recommendations; that's where I always suggest new Sanderson readers start. His standalone novel Warbreaker is available for free if you're hesitant to purchase books from an author you've not read yet.
  22. Thanks for the lovely welcomes! I'll try to preserve my resistance to cookie-based temptation.
  23. Hello fellow Sanderson stalke- er, enthusiastic followers! I'm a long-time fan, first-time poster. Mistborn reignited my waning interest in the fantasy genre way back when it first came out in paperback. The title jumped off the shelf at me and it was the best book purchase I’ve ever made! Since then I’ve been obsessed with his fascinating stories and truly unique worlds. Reading through some old threads about translating the non-English script on various Stormlight book illustrations piqued my interest enough to finally join the forum. I'm also quite active on LibraryThing. As you can see, I've made it a point to collect everything Sanderson I could get my grubby hands on. (Except Alcatraz; I’m waiting for the 5th volume to come out so I can snatch them up all at once.) Can't wait to discuss the Cosmere with you all!
